Diner Reviews
  • "We went out for a date night for my birthday and it was fabulous. We went during happy hour so there were some great deals, but all drinks were excellent and so was the food. What a find! We will be going back."

  • "The food was excellent and patio in the evening at sunset was beautiful. We forgot we were still in Colorado and felt more like a vacation. We loved the guacamole and made to order corn. The scallops were amazing!"

  • "You can never go wrong here. All items on the menus are treats! Clean eating with vibrant spice and creative preparations!"

  • "Fun restaurant with an interesting menu. Great for date nite and we go there often. If you like Tequila, they have a lot if choice. Navajo tacos are quite fun."

  • "This was a surprisingly good dining experience unexpected in a hotel location. The server was especially good at highlighting the specialty features of the menu, noting that the having a butcher on the staff allows them to prepare specialty items at reasonable prices."

  • "Wow, Kachina SG did not let us down again.Every time it gets better. Amazing appetizers and delicious entrees with tequila and 50% off their tequilas. Great way to celebrate National Tequila Day and a very special occasion for us. Their toasted coconut flan is fantastic."

  • "Always love Kachina. I've never had anything I don't enjoy and I'm not even a foodie. Best bet is the chicken enchiladas and some tequila. Service is very well trained and a definite value added to the menu. Outstanding ambiance. It's even more remarkable that Kachina is a hotel restaurant. Everything about Kachina/Westin rivals the best in all of Denver, at a convenient north metro location."

  • "As a visitor to the Denver area annually, this is a MUST EAT AT first stop. I love the rolling cart with the $5 appetizer - it changes all the time so be sure to ask what the rolling cart is serving. The drinks are wonderful and they have quite a variety - usually with a twist. I ordered the trout and it was delicious, my family ordered different items from a burger to the sampler - all were well prepared. Kachina will stay on my list as one of my dinner spots. We DID eat b'fast there twice and it is quiet and calm in the morning - more food that you can eat!"

  • "Kachina has a very interesting and good menu, with unique choices. There were 10 of us so there was quite of variety of dishes and everyone liked what they got. The maitre de was gracious and the server was very helpful and did a great job. We'll be back!"

  • "While the service was passable, the noise was like eating at an indoor swimming pool during summer vacation - extremely loud. Unfortunately, the food was comprised of add flavor profiles, none of which sat well with us. We got the chip and salsa sampler, and could only eat the pico de gallo (which was bland and flavorless), as the other two selections were horrible. The medium tasted like crushed marinated tomatoes with a little spice added - rather a disgusting flavor with chips. The hot was over smoked and had no other flavor. As for our entrees, mine was ok (chicken enchilada) but had an odd texture (grainy and mushy at the same time). My wife's was oddly spicy so you couldn't taste the favors (it was not supposed to be a spicy dish)."

  • "The food was only ok. I got the Three Sisters: tamales and the tamales were really dry, but the grilled squash was delicious. My sister got the navajo tacos and it was only okay. My cousin got the shrimp and waffles and she said the shrimp was decent and waffles were nothing special. However, the appetizer we got were these corn fries I believe and they were delicious and for dessert, the beignets were delicious too."

  • "Good food good service. We enjoyed our meal. Will go back."

  • "The menu is confusing, but once you find your way through the maze, the food is excellent. The ambience is fine, but noisy. Makes it impossible to have a quite conversation or feel any sense of intimacy. We were seated near a portable grill in an aisle, and had to endure waves of heat and smoke from grilling meats."

  • "The food is unusual and outstanding, the service is great. My only suggestion would be to turn the music down; it was sometimes hard to hear over it."

  • "... always amazing, always yummy, always a great experience! My wife, and I love Kachina, and get over there as often as we can! Can't wait to go again!"

  • "Most unique (and wonderfully tasty) southwestern food in Denver. Reasonable and super fun atmosphere! Service was perfect… Can't wait to return!"

  • "Place was loud, service was TOO intense, too much attention is just as bad as not enough..... wait staff did not read cues. Finally, food was just so-so"

  • "Recommended by a friend and was looking for a nice place for a business dinner. It was awesome. Service was great and our server was outstanding! Will definately go back for patio dining and for the excellent food."

  • "Our first time to try Kachina's was a success. We LOVED the guac trio with blue corn chips. All Puffy Navajo nachos are worth trying--superb sauces in each. Wish we'd had room for desert. Mixed drink specials: go for it and split if necessary! Great view and great time. Tad noisy, so maybe go to awesome patio, if that might be an issue...."

  • "From the ambiance, to the food, to the location, this place is just great!"

  • "I am a regular here and am always please with both food and service. Our server was very energetic and friendly and she obviously knows a lot about the menu and wines. The food was yummy as always with all 3 of us being very happy with what we got."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Their tacos are amazing! Innovative fillings and combinations. Distinctive tortillas that are much puffier than normal - though hard to describe, they're super good. Ability to order 1 or 100! They have a bass dish that's good as well. Service isn't up to the levels of the food - I'd describe it as "distracted" (too many college kids chatting one another up and ignoring the guests)."

  • "Went for an early dinner 5:30, thinking it would be a quiet dinner time, Yikes! Very noisy several large groups. The bar is right in the restaurant area with extra loud music playing throughout the restaurant. Combine that with loud groups during happy hour it was very hard to talk and have a quiet dinner... However it was raining so patio dining was not being used and once the Happy Hour groups left, it was an enjoyable experience . 7:00 could be a better dinner time. There are several dining areas farther back that could have solved this problem few diners at the time and we thought those areas were closed, (wrong) just ask next time. Service:outstanding Food: was well prepared and yummy. We will try again."

  • "This restaurant is a standout among all of the restaurants (i.e. suburban chain types) in the area. While it's attached to a hotel, it's not your average hotel food. The tacos and margaritas (and other fun craft cocktails) are outstanding. They are also able to accommodate gluten-free and vegetarian diets (without sacrificing flavor). It's a really great place!"

  • "This is a great restaurant if you are looking for something a little different. Their cocktails have some unique (good!) flavors. The guacamole is spicy and flavorful. The navajo tacos are great -- all combos! After visiting, I'm still a little hesitant on accepting the "street taco" maker. It just seems kinda awkward every time. I'm not sure what the purpose is, especially since the guy making them this past time didn't cook anywhere near us. Why have a cart for cooking in the middle of the restaurant if the folks that order it can't see? It was a delicious little taco though!"

  • "I took a date there. Classy place in the Westin hotel with valet parking. Good food and service, but so loud I could barely hear my date's voice."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "I don't usually think that restaurants in hotels are that noteworthy, but Kachina is an exception. Food is locally sourced and deliciously prepared. I've never had a disappointing meal here. My only complaint is the noise level - it can be quite loud, but it's a small price to pay for reasonably priced tasty fare."

  • "The tacos were awesome! The service was a little slow however, but we had a great time!"

  • "We had a really great experience with our waiter. He was very sweet and patient. He took the time to thoroughly explain the menu. We had an amazing time at Kachina. The food was AMAZING and it's always wonderful to know that you are eating food that comes from Colorado. Very well done."

  • "Navajo Tacos & guacamole were excellent as appetizers or entree. Bison ribeye was excellent & very large. Chicken & Chorizo ordered by 2ppl-one person liked, the other didn't. Overall, $330 + was too pricey for the service received & food. Had noted on our reservation the special occasion, but nothing was done for us or the occasion was not even the mentioned."

  • "The food choices are interesting such as the Navajo Tacos, but overall the food tasted greasy."

  • "Katchina had the best mothers day brunch menu! Food was delicious and can't beat bottomless mimosas :) The restaurant was the beautiful! Definitely going back with my husband for a date night. "

  • "Went there for Sunday Brunch on Mothers' Day. Food was certainly adequate, and an attempt was made to present the dishes in an appealing manner. There was no question that this was mass-produced food, though. All the meats were over-cooked and dry, and the potatoes were fine, but lacked any particular flair. If you are looking for an upscale gourmet Sunday Brunch, this is NOT the place! It was a decent value, though. The wait staff, to a person, was very courteous and attentive. You might say the food did not quite live up to the level of the staff."

  • "The food was really good. The food was served by many and no one knew what was going on. Never got all that we ordered. Would not go back. Not worth the money."

  • "My daughter looked online for a fun restaurant with good food in our new neighborhood. She did super. Her Dad and I dined at Kachina's on Sat. night celebrating Mother's Day. Service was very attentive and prompt. Appetizer of duck taco was so…………tasty. We had delicious Colo. Bass and Bison Meatloaf balls (balls were a bit spicy though). Dessert was the top of the evening. Especially the Chile Chocolate sauce with beignets. Wow, that dish alone would merit a return visit. *Note: I did bite into the pepper that came with the duck taco and whoa it was hot!!! A packet of sugar and a lemon slice got rid of the burn. Seeing boys and girls come in dressed for their proms was delightful. :)"

  • "My wife and I continue to love our regular visits to the always amazing Kachina SWG! Both of us really feel like we've become friends of the staff. The managers have all been gracious, warm, and welcoming (this includes the host station). Our server, once again, was exemplary, as usual. We were well taken of, as we always are, and we so appreciate it. The food was again, excellent. Our compliments to the chef! I must also compliment the bartender, as they make the best dirty martinis I've ever had!"

  • "We were entertaining a client before a show at the 1st Bank Center. LOVED IT! The food was great. The wine list is good. And, we went back after the show for dessert. Very good. It's easy to eat there because of the valet service and the location. "

  • "I'm so glad I found this hidden gem! I was looking at the "Broomfielder" magazine that had a list of local eateries. I saw Kachina on there and decided we needed to go. I then looked at their website...staff, menus, happy hours. WOW! Six of us went on a Saturday night and all of us were happy! Our original reservation was made online, but then I needed to change it. I called and spoke with James, he was so kind and accommodating. I had the pleasure of meeting him when we arrived. I can't wait to go back on a Thursday, which is ladies night. Thank you!"
