  • "We have enjoyed Kabuki regularly since last NOV, the sushi is as good as an ocean side experience. Staff is always friendly and the location is very convenient for local people or guests at the nearby hotels. We've enjoyed many of the entrees in addition to sushi and they are always excellent. Tempura, edamame, salads are excellent."

  • "Exactly what I was looking for when my cousin suggested a girls dinner for us to catch up on what's been going on with each other! :) atmosphere was very comfortable! Food was amazing!"

  • "Did not live up to the hype. The sushi was average nothing super fresh then again we are in Arizona and then again we are in American base sushi place so it don't be authentic sticky rice and fresh fish at best to be of California imitation crab dressed up in a fancy role at a 11-15 sticker price highway robbery "

  • "Service could have been better, server in my opinion should be trained to keep an eye on the table more, refill drinks and think about how good is brought out when there are multiple courses verses all at once."

  • "I really like the location. Westgate is a gem to our community, Over all this was a really pleasing experience. Nice setting good food EXCELLENT sake... check it out if you can"

  • "They seemed short staffed and unprepared for the level of attendance on Christmas Day . This was our second visit and not representative of the quality experience this restaurant is capable of"

  • "For someone who is a sushi novice, this is the restaurant for you. The website even suggests that the intent of the Kabuki is to introduce Japanese cuisine as comfort food. While that is admirable, it will ultimately pigeonhole Kabuki as merely a stepping stone to much better restaurants serving Japanese food with much better precision and execution, and consequently much better tasting. The very fact that the sushi pieces are so large as to require 2 bites or more is indicative of poor technique (or adherence to the paradigm of quantity equalling quality). My entree arrived before my sushi, the flavors subsequently interfering with the delicate flavor of the sushi, despite using the ginger to clean the palate prior to eating the sushi."

  • "the service, as usual is fantastic. The food never disappoints. This restaurant can accommodate true Japanese cuisine aficionados as well as those who like the more traditional (westernized) Japanese style dishes. They easily know how to please both types of palates."

  • "We celebrated our nieces 8th grade promotion dinner at Kabuki. The sushi was wonderful. We enjoyed it!"

  • "We had a bad experience with the server, we were a group of 11 people and a few of us ask for the same entree but the server got all confused and some of us ended up with no food at all, we had to ask him again but it seem like he was lost, also there was not enough napkins and utensils, we asked for it and he only got 3 loose forks for a group of 11 people lol, I usually don't complain but it was my sisters graduation and we wanted to have a good experience but this server didn't try to provide a good service. Food was excellent, we all loved it even those who never tried sushi in their life, they would deffenetly try kabuki again, but not with a service like the one we experienced."

  • "The food was very good. Everything on the menu looked so good that we ordered far too much food for ourselves. The service was quick and courteous. The only issues I had were the reservation I made online a couple hours ahead of time was not received by the restaurant. Also, the table are placed to close to another table. Overall it was a very nice dining experience."

  • "Dinning here was just GOOD. Nothing above or below average. Our waiter was great! It was a very busy night and he did forget to bring us a couple of things but he was very apologetic and just seemed to be a nice guy. The food was good and well made. I had sautee'd mushrooms and they were awesome. I will go back."

  • "When you walk in and the first person you see is the hostess and she can't even greet you with a smile it turns you off completely! I even tried to joke with her and nothing! It was 115 outside and she asked us if we wanted to sit outside... Really? Then she seats us and plops down the menus and walks away! Our waiter took his time to get to our table he was ok nothing special. Once we received our sushi it was sub par nothing great I think for the price it should of been a whole lot better, presentation was sloppy. The vegi ramen was great but my teriyaki salmon was horrible. I would try it again to see if things are better and only order the soup. They really need a nice hostess that knows customer service and knows how to smile."

  • "Wasn't great food, little overpriced for the area. Service was poor, though there was a Coyotes game that night, so that may have been the issue. I don't think I'll go back, though."

  • "Sushi and food was not the best Japanese food that I've had. I prefer RA Sushi Bar over Kabuki. My son who is 10 liked the food and the restaurant was very kid friendly. Service was good and I loved their green passion tea. Food was just not as high of quality as I've grown to love at Ra."

  • "I was disappointed with my experience at kabuki I placed on my reservation that it was my birthday and I did not receive one mention of that during my experience. Not either the hostess nor the server said anything. We ended up telling our server that it was myself and an 11 year old girls birthday and he brought out one ice cream scoop with one spoon. The table next to last was having a birthday as well and a group of servers came out and sang to them.. That didn't sit well with the rest of my table. Also at check out my server did not mention the kabuki card which I have and wanted to use the $15 towards my bill and i forgot to give the server. I will not be able toreturn before that $15 expires so it was a complete waste."

  • "Wonderful Japanese cuisine, including sushi and sashimi. Some original sushi rolls that are unique to Kabuki that are very flavorful and tastes superb. One such is the Spicy Tuna Crunch roll. All very moderately priced. Wait staff eager to provide the best service."

  • "I really enjoyed this place, however my coworkers that I was traveling with got dizzy from the atmosphere (everything's tilted). I thought it was unique & inventive though. The sushi was good & the location was excellent as it's in a shopping center."

  • "The sushi was fresh and spectacular. I was very pleased with the service however we went for lunch so im sure it did not reflect a typical dinner service. I will be returning."

  • "The bar / lounge area was a perfect fit while the tables were being prepped for Mother's Day. Kabuki had a great vibe and the albacore sashimi was seared nicely. Would recommend for couples who would like a good night of sushi."

  • "Kabuki's great. Service great. Salmon sushi Banana tempura awesome. Ambiance versatile. Sake menu great. But... my way of testing chef dynamics is by the way the Mackerel is prepare and served. Should be served unapologetically. Mackerel should coat the mouth with a wonderful pungent oil and a slight whisper of lemon or hint of wine vinegar. Kabuki seemed to try and tame it down or make it palate friendly for the average guests who may not be familiar with mackerel and could be put off by mackerel in its natural form. So to be blunt the mackerel was a bit dry and bland, as if it was pressed between paper towel to be less oily. The Spanish mackerel was dry and flavorless it was so dry that it cracks in between flakes. But is is a good place."

  • "Great food, fair service from both the hostess and watress. Both seemed to lack knowledge about Open Table and use of the restaurants computer ordering system. Drinks from the bar took 20 minutes after waiting 12 minutes for the first contact by the waitress. Manager came by and addressed my issues."

  • "I heard negetive things about this restaurant. Why? This is a great place for so many occasions. The food was excellent and the drinks. I was impressed to walk in and see the design of the restaurant. All three hostesses greeted me. Our table was ready, sat down right away, and our server was great! I would love to go back. The experience is what you make it."
