Diner Reviews
  • "Went to Kabooki Sushi for the first time on a Wednesday night. I didn't think I needed a reservation, but was glad I made one because it was crowded when I arrived at 7:30. Our server displayed great knowledge of the menu and overall it was a great dining experience."

  • "We travelled in Florida , South Carolina and Georgia over a 4 week holiday and ate out in many top restaurants using Trip Adviser reviews. This restaurant was easily the best despite its location and less than exciting external impression. A wonderful experience of Asian fusion...and outstanding dessers too!"

  • "We made reservations but still had to wait almost 30 minutes to get a table. We were glad we waited, the service was excellent and the good was amazing. Very diverse sushi/dinner menu and the ginger dressing was so good. Would not recommend for kids under 8 and it is a noisy place that gives an atmosphere of a nighttime bar scene."

  • "The sushi here is out of this world. Everything is so fresh and tasted great. Also don't miss desert the bread pudding is so good!"

  • "Who would've thought a sushi restaurant in that location would be so good? But it is! I have been twice in the last two weeks and the place was packed both times. My favorite is the Smoking Double Roll. Great desserts too!"

  • "This was a fantastic Sushi find. The special Ramen soup was tasty and full of noodles. The sushi rolls had fresh fish and delicious. While it can be crowded, the atmosphere was friendly and never stuffy."

  • "Hands down the best Sushi in Orlando. You could literally put this place in New York or Miami and it would flourish, great for Orlando to have such a unique and new twist on this type of Cuisine. Been to Nobu in NYC, Miami and London, and this place is on par with any of Nobu's offerings, but at a much more reasonable price point. Must try the Cobia dishes and the warm mushroom salad. Desserts were awesome as well."

  • "The dishes we ordered were good but very small so to satisfy our appetites I ordered more dishes so it ended up being $80+ for me and my girlfriend (without tip). The restaurant was small and very crowded. I can't really hold that against them the food was good, however for the price I don't want to be elbow to elbow with the table next to me.I'm not sure I would recommend...There are many options for sushi resturants-Next time I'll try a different place."

  • "Kabooki sushi doesn't have the best location or curb appeal, but once you walk through the door you will be amazed. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, the waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with making suggestions, and the food was all amazing. We enjoyed foie gras, a few rolls, and sashimi. This is our new favorite sushi place in Orlando and we will be back very soon!!"

  • "Great happy hour! 4 to 5$ rolls great drink prices too. Love this place, best sushi I have had in Orlando yet! Try the Zen roll!"

  • "This 23 year old chef's eatery is so incredible it pains me to write an honest review because it going to be just that much harder for me to get a reservation next time! If this young man opened a restaurant next to Nobu in London the latter would fold in short order. His food is in a class by itself - do not be put off by the strip mall location for the moment - more to come! Foodies please note - he is the Japanese equivalent of Las Vegas' Lotus of Siam. We normally get the Omakase menu - (6) courses specially prepared for you by the chef per your preferences and @$75/pp it is a steal! But do not discount the normal menu either - he is a genius! For sure make a reservation - you can normally get them with 48 hrs notice - SHH!"

  • "We had reservations at 7:30 and didn't get seated until after 8 pm. There appeared to be some confusion at the hostess stand. Huge crowd waiting near the front. Felt bad for the tables near the door with all these people hovering over them. Sushi was amazing and fresh. Would go back at a less busy time."

  • "We came here with some friends who were treating us to happy hour. I had never been because well, from the outside, it doesn't look all that impressive. I was pleasantly surprised. The sake-tinis were incredible and the rolls were very good, and all at an affordable happy hour price. You can tell this is a hidden gem because the place was packed by 7:00 on a Wednesday. It was so busy that we were lingering a while after paying our tab and had to be asked to leave to accomodate a reservation at our table. (Which is no problem- completely understandable in a venue that small.) "

  • "Creative offerings you won't find elsewhere in Orlando. Kabooki is a stellar example of less is more. "

  • "The sushi selection was fantastic and different than most sushi restaurants. The rolls we had were the best I have had in Orlando by far and we go eat sushi all the time. I would highly recommend it. The place is a little small and can be a bit loud. I recommend making a reservation simply because of the size. Their happy hour looks pretty good as well but ends at 6:30pm so we just missed it when we went. "

  • "Overpriced and nothing too flashy... Not sure what all they hype is about. Maybe this is the best Orlando has to offer, but I just moved here from Boston and this is sushi little league comparatively."

  • "The crudo was so yummy and refreshing. I highly recommend it. I also had the ghost roll and thoroughly enjoyed it! I highly recommend giving Kabooki a try!"

  • "absolutely outstanding sushi in every regard. Fresh, light and INNOVATIVE. you need a California roll? yea they can do it, but why would you? The Omkasa, the chef's personal selections for the day, is in a word, unbelievable. "

  • "First and foremost the food quality is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable professional and personable. The menu is innovative and the presentation creates an incredible wow factor. This restaurant is a little more than one-year-old and I see it having a bright future."

  • "We've been to Kabooki a few nights for their regular menu, everything is great, but this was our first time going on a Sunday when they also do Ramen soup dishes. All I can say is it was delicious. Tasty broth, flavorful pork belly and those awesome soft boiled eggs. Sunday is a treat at Kabooki and a must try. I'd love to see a spin off Kabooki Ramen place!!"

  • "Sushi was excellent, service was attentive, will be back to eat multiple times! Very unique rolls, everything was so distinct and flavorful, had heard excellent reviews and it lived up to those expectations!"

  • "Without getting into specifics on what we ordered I can tell you that from appetizer to dessert the food was excellent. While the sake list was not extensive, they did have some very good sake! The Server was very good. Only issue I had is that my reservation was at 8pm and we weren't seated until 8:45. Why bother making a reservation??? We had to sit up front by the cash register for 45 minutes. We watched as 2 tops and 4 tops were seated ahead of us. You need to teach your hostess to seat people accordingly and take into account your reserved tables."

  • "We moved here 4 years ago and have been searching for great sushi in Orlando. We were so excited when Kabooki opened because we finally found what we were looking for! Truly a unique experience with fresh fish, attention to detail & truly unique flavor combinations. The daily specials are to die for!"

  • "we tried this place on a whim. The only odd thing was when we stepped in the hostess asked if we had reservations. When we said no she said it would be a problem. Then I pulled out my open table app and made a reservation right in front of her and she sat as down. Literally that quick. Weird. But the food was great!"

  • "There is no place in Orlando like this little gem. The sushi is as if you were in NYC getting the very best. "

  • "I brought my daughter and family to Kabooki Sushi for a pre-graduation dinner. I was astounded at how delicious everything was, since I had not had the best experiences with sushi in Orlando. To my surprise, everything was delicious, and I had never seen so many of the combinations before. Be sure to get the Hawaii X0 roll and the Otoro Ball. Also the waitress, Jocelyn, was so patient and sweet explaining some of the menu items to an elderly grandmother. An amazing find!"

  • "This was my second time going to Kabooki for happy hour, and like the first time it was Really Good. Value is great, service is great, food is great. We got edamame, five happy hour rolls and two of the smaller hot dishes -- we were definitely stuffed. The only negative comment I have is on the eel, avocado & bacon roll -- it tasted funny. I'm pretty sure it wasn't just me because I've had eel sushi many times before and this was definitely a different taste -- my dining partner noticed it too. The only way I can describe the strange taste is "musty." I didn't complain because everything else was so good and I just hate complaining at restaurants. But other than that, everything was great and I'll definitely be back! Thank you!"

  • "Not only was it a great meal and experiance... they called the next day to follow up to ensure we had a nice night. Love this place! "

  • "The rolls and sashimi were better than any other place we've been to in Orlando but the best part was the inventive and amazing combinations that the chefs put on the plate in the cold and warm plate offerings. So good that we ordered another cold plate instead of desert. We will be back soon to try the deserts, which looked fantastic. "

  • "Quickly became my favorite sushi spot. We've been four times already and have had a great experience each time. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, honestly we haven't found a dish we didn't like. Id suggest trying a couple of the tasting then a couple rolls. Save room for their dessert, great options their too. Their space is pretty tight so make a reservation and expect a crowd. They're supposed to be expanding soon so that should help. Highly recommended!"

  • "This was maybe our fifth visit to Kabooki, and I have settled in to my 'usual' of Ginger Lemonade, the Zen roll, a miso soup appetizer, and either the Bangkok Dreams (mango and coconut dessert...delicious and inventive) or the C-4 (chocolate deliciousness). I'd recommend the Bangkok Dreams dessert if mangos are in season, just because you can't anything like this dessert anywhere else. Get yourself to Kabooki!"
