I was looking for a restaurant for a birthday dinner and tried K Restaurant. I couldn't have been happier with my choice. We were warmly greeted by Aaron our waiter, who immediately wished my date a happy birthday. They were out of the fried green tomatoes so we substituted the calamari, which was amazing, it had whole lemon slices deep fried with it and was cooked perfectly, the calamari was tender and not heavily breaded. The beet salad was fresh and well done as was our dinner. We had the duck and salmon, both portions were more than adequate and cooked perfectly, salmon very undercooked as requested. Our wine glasses were kept full, with perfect timing of our meal. Fabulous desert, with a performance by Rocky! Awesome evening.

I'm glad we were able to try K Restaurant, however, it didn't live up to the hype or expectations we had. My wife had the fried green tomato appetizer and I had the octopus salad ... both desperately needed seasoning. Main entrees of ricotta gnocchi and beef shank were SUPER heavy, gnocchi couldn't be tasted because sauce overwhelmed their lightness. Our other table mate had the filet mignon which came out cold.
We sat in the small room up front, nice at first for couples, but then a table of six was seated right behind us and as a group their conversation/laughter drowned us out. Our party of four felt forced to leave pretty quickly because we couldn't hear ourselves. Maybe a larger party should be seated in one of the larger rooms...

K is officially my favorite restaurant in central Florida. The food is delicious, service is attentive but not invasive, and the prices are reasonable. We ordered the Frito Misto to start which was a plentiful basket of perfectly fried calamari, octopus, fennel, and lemon slices; my table of three couldn't finish it. Two of us ordered the salmon which was cooked exactly how it should be: the slightest bit underdone. My other guest ordered the eggplant parmesan which tasted as good as it looked. The lava cake for dessert continues to be the best I've ever had and the peanut butter pie wasn't too rich. Eric, our waiter, never missed a beat; I can't think of a time when I had better service. I can't wait to go back to K!

Our family of four went for Easter brunch while visiting the area on Spring break - we are happy we did! While the service was a tad slow given a large table before us, the food was well worth the wait. We had the country fried steak, French toast, poached eggs and the hamburger, all of which were devoured in their entirety.

Dining on the porch in beautiful weather really adds to the enjoyment of the always good food at Ks. It is quite cramped inside, dark and noisy. If the weather is condusive, always try to eat on the front porch.
