"Best meal since the last time we ate here. Delicately cooked, brilliantly spiced, flavors balanced roasted monkfish. Appetizer:unique steak tartare with home made chips. Wine pairing, perfect. Chef Angelo does it again, creates a surprise of perfection. We love Sunday Suppers. Always unique. We love all dinners. We had eaten at K&L the night before."

"We were looking forward to our evening at K&L, and were sadly disappointed. By 7:30, the time we arrived, the restaurant was already sold out of two entree dishes; My dinner companion then ordered lemonade, only to be told that they were out of that, as well. Steamed Pork Buns as appetizers were very good, and, sadly, the highlight of the evening. The Petrale Sole was tasty, but not anything special. More than half of the plate was heaped with ordinary French Fries. The Chicken Piccata was much the same:nothing extraordinary, and was served with a salad that was impossible to eat. Dessert was unremarkable when it arrived. Our server forgot one dessert altogether, and had to be reminded. As it turned out, it wouldn't have been missed."

"The food was really delicious. We were surprised and disappointed though that on a Saturday night at 7:00 they were out of their two fish dishes - the sea bass and the salmon. Seems like a rather poor stocking program - and those were what we wanted for dinner.....Turns out there was one salmon left and my dining partner graciously changed her order to chicken so I could have it.....
Other than that, a delightful dining experience."

"Though the menu is smaller and the wine list dramatically reduced, K&L has survived the economic downturn and the loss of its Michelin star to remain the go-to bistro in Sebastopol. While there are some great new additions to the menu like the Porchetta, it's the classics that bring diners back. The italiannete halibut dish, the pate, the crab cakes, the sole with frites, the onion soup. All of this is comfort food backed up by welcoming staff and a pleasant space. While I miss some of the long-lost dishes like the skate wing, the cassoulet and the 'ever-cooked' lamb, the change from French to a more Italian kitchen should be at least an interesting trip."

"This restaurant is the gem of Sebastopol! It has the absolute best combination of food, service, ambiance and "clever menu construction" that you will find anywhere west of Highway 101. Suzanne is an especially charming server who befriends you if you become a regular, and I recommend that you do. We see the same people there over and over again, but there are always several new things to discover on the menu. Favorite choices are duck dishes, salmon dishes, crab cakes(!!!), creative salads (arugula with almonds, persimmon(!!!), beets with sliced hazlenuts) and any of the desserts with baked pastry. Owners Karen and Lucas are charming and happy to chat if you can grab their attention. They may be cooking if you are lucky!"

"Food was very good with a wide range of items to choose from. Service was wick but definitely not rushed. It was nice to find a good restaurant open on a Monday evening. One caveat, I wouldn't recommend the house wine. I should know better, but thought I'd give it a try."
