The service was good, but the main entree took a little longer than we would have liked. The place was very chic, had that up-town/up-scale feel, reminding us of the city. This is a great find in the area of central Jersey. There aren't many good choices for food, except for Just. The restaurant has exceptional food and amazing service. It's a shame that many more people don't know of this restaurant. Dishes that I strongly recommend, Spicy tuna cones (tuna tar tar in sesame cones), drunken clams, Wagyu ginger meatballs, Donut burger with amazing truffle fries, steamed pork buns, boneless rack of lamb. Don't forget to order dessert! My favorites: fried Oreos, old fashioned donuts, and last but not least the ice cream pops. Just try the restaurant, you won't be sorry. My drunken clams were the hit starter of the evening although the ceviche and tuna cones were enjoyed by my friends. The waygu burger that I had to follow was OK although pretty dry. Two of my dining companions had the tuna burger which required that they ask for some condiment to make it edible and not so dry. The tuna was nice but unseasoned and uninteresting until some "tuna mayo" was brought.
The bar was another issue. They mix nice drinks, but need to learn to make martinis COLD rather than just above room temperature. My friend and I had to ask for ice to add to our drinks. Made everyone in our group feel comfortable from 10yrs old to 74. Even the 18yr olds said they are coming back with their friends. The food was presented to us on par with the finest restaurants in NYC & the taste was was equally spectacular. JUST does more than prepare a fine meal, they take pride in every dish as if it were its own piece of art cooked & designed on the plate JUST for you. The dessert menu teases your taste buds with memories of your childhood with dishes being accompanied by cotton candy, & ice cream cake pops. We had both steak choices, boneless lamb, & free range chicken. We were both very happy with our meals, wine, and service. The wine list was small but had a nice selection that was well priced. We had the spicy tuna cones which were excellent. I had the braised pork shake and my friend had the NY strip. Both meals were very good and had excellent presentation. To top if off we had the carrot cake pancakes for desert. The dessert menu looked like one of the most interesting parts of the dinner menu. The creativity and presentation make this restaurant very unique find outside of NYC.
