A word from Junoon Restaurant
Derived from the Hindi word meaning passion, Junoon delivers on the promise of its moniker with an authentic, yet elegantly modern take on Indian cuisine. Restaurateur Rajesh Bhardwaj, inspired by his deep affinity and commitment to the food and culture of his native India, has assembled a talented team, who share his same vision including celebrated chef and cookbook author, Vikas Khanna, helming Junoon's kitchen as Executive Chef.

Don't forget to peak into Junnon's one-of-a-kind Spice Room where an array of fresh spices are ground daily and made into a unique blend to be used in the marinades and sauces for the day.

Love this restaurant. Been here many times and each time it is delicious. They do change up the menu from time to time which is so nice. The staples are always there, though. I love the vegetarian options! The cocktails are great too! This time we brought our own bottle of wine and there was a $40 corkage fee. They definitely did not seem to mind that we did that. Great rest. - highly recommend.

Food was good. Sevice ok although a little surly. Manager was great. I was with a party of 6 adults and an easy group. I thought it was surprising and inappropriate they added a tip of 20% onto our check. I did not say anything as I would have left 20% anyway (although not on the tax portion) but did not want to make a fuss.

The food doesn't rate a star, in my opinion. The eggplant was overdone, the cauliflower tasteless. Best thing was the sauces, but they tasted too much the same. Disappointing.

The first time I ate here I was blown away by the food and service. The second time I took two colleagues and the food was great, but the service had a decided drop off; not that it was poor, just the first time I went it was exceptional.

Friendly, competent service in a Vegas-like setting but the food was only fine; not sufficiently elevated to justify the price tag. Nice wine list and sommelier the night we were there was terrific, recommending interesting wines at prices below what we indicated we were willing to pay.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. They surprised us with a special dessert just for our celebration! We had the tasting menu, which was phenomenal. Perfect portions and a perfect pace. The waiters were attentive and explained each course in full detail. They even offered to take our picture to remember the lovely evening. The cuisine is a wonderful twist on classic Indian food. The spices were familiar, but the dishes were very innovative - a wonderful treat! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The ambiance was very nice & classy!

I was disappointed in Junoon. To be fair, we have eaten fabulous meals in India (and one wonderful one in Cairo) as well as dined at many Indian restaurants in London, so we are something of a tough sell. But, we felt that the prices were high for what we got and the food was just average. The spices were unusual and somewhat off-putting in one of the dishes and were almost absent in another. I think charging for the chutneys in an Indian restaurant is ridiculous. They should come with the meal. The Naan was delicious. We won't be going back.

Our reservation was for 9pm. We were taken to our table a few minutes late while everyone else was leaving the restaurant on a week night. They sat the 4 of us right next to the only large party in the dining room. We could have been offered any other table. Let me put it simply, it is very difficult to enjoy a $95 tasting menu when the table of 20 next to you is doing alcohol shots at 9:30pm on a Tuesday evening. We received no attention from the wait staff, our water glasses were never refilled. We had to ask for bread at least 4 times. Several of our dishes came out of the kitchen before our previous plates were even cleared. Very disappointed. With so many great alternatives in New York City, do not take the risk.

We had ordered a lamb shank, were asked if we would like it cut from the bone. After about 20 minutes, we were informed that the lamb shank was not edible and we were asked if we would like to order another dish. We did, and we were served a very good second lamb dish. However, other than an apology, we received no acknowledgement of the fact that we were obliged to wait for almost an extra 30 minutes for our food - no reduction for the dish or other gesture.

This is one of the best places for vegetarian food I've ever found, with a five course vegetarian tasting menu. Every course was special. The price was high and we'd skip the tasting menu and order a la carte when we return. We ate in a room on the side which was very quiet. The service was impeccable.

This is my third visit to this restaurant this year and all for special occasions. The first two times were with a group of 6 and the service was amazing. Food is awesome, wine was excellent. Very happy with the overall ambience. Am impressed with the knowledgeable staff that they have and the lovely food selection. Recommend the eggplant chat, makai kebab, lasuni gobi (always), shrimp for appetizers, Nadru kofte, crispy okra, lamb kolhapuri and chicken m... for entrees. For appetizers try the seasonal trio kulfi and date gateau.. Will be happy to take another group of close friends/relatives there again

A very good friend of mine and restauranteur had recommended that I try Junoon a few years ago. I have only just recently had the opportunity to experience this fabulous restaurant and now I'm wishing I had not delayed. My expectations were high, but my experience far exceeded my expectations. We chose to dine in the lounge because it had a good vibe. However, next time I will definitely be in the elegant dining room. The ambiance is exquisite. We only indulged in appetizers of shrimp, chicken and cauliflower but each were equally amazing combinations tantalizing and pleasing the palate. I cannot wait for my next occasion at Junoon. Truly a tasteful delight.

The foods we ate were outstanding! We loved the salmon appetizer and the lobster curry. The sommelier was incredible and so knowledgable! The atmosphere was devine and comfortable. We got to the restaurant early due to hunger and they seated us right away which was surprising. The meal was memorable and I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone who likes ethnic foods and a comfortable beautiful atmosphere!

Out of 4 items I tried, 2 (nadru kofta and chipotle chicken tikka) were very good and 2 (paneer aur mirch ka salan) were not that good, for my taste. Ambience not that good but service was great and the wine selection is pretty good to. Hope this review helps.

My friend and I opted for the lunch prefix. The portion sizes were generous without being too large. The lamb was in an amazing curry with depth of flavor and heat. The dessert was perfection. A miniature cheesecake with cinnamon and pepper coated in chocolate. I would go back alone for the dessert, and have a wonderful meal.

Hostess and wait staff pleasant. Atmosphere was nice. Food: Way below expectations I may have for ANY Indian restaurant, whether it be a 'high end' one or a local gem. Just plain bad. The tandoori chicken was particularly ridiculous as it was a chicken that was the size of a pheasant, not tasty and all bones. Cocktails were tiny and not filled even close to 3/4 mark. Way closer to 1/2 glass. Do NOT recommend

My first visit here was right after the restaurant opened. It was great, with inventive and delicious food. I've been back 3 times, hoping for the original wow. It's never happened. The kitchen is still inventive, but by and large the innovations fail. Some of the tastes are just odd, some dishes just have not a lot of inherent taste. The service was ridiculously bad. The waiter misunderstood our order and brought the main courses first. After an excruciatingly long wait, he brought the vegetable dishes. The eggplant was awful. He apologized, but the restaurant made no attempt to take something off the bill, or provide free desserts, in order to improve our total experience. I'm done here.

I took my friends who were visiting from out of country to Junoon; and it was a complete farce. Starting from the phone call in received saying business casual only, then to find out folks wearing flip flops etc..to bad food. Our appetizers were cold (we're not supposed to be) and when we politely asked of they were supposed to be cold; the waiter was honest enough to tell us that it was not supposed to be cold. He promised replacing all apps but we just asked for 1. Dinner was OK. Bill arrives with all the appetizers in it and it was embarrassing to ask them why did they charge is for bad food. They took the charge out and we did pay a generous tip but super disappointed with service. No one (manager) approached us to ask our concerns.

I cannot say i adore Indian cuisine, but this one was really good. I would say it is not 100% traditional Indian food - a bit of fusion with European, but the food is really good. Liked it more than Tamarind, probably would say it is best Indian place i have been too and definitely would recommend.
