Diner Reviews
  • "It was uncomfortably loud where we were sitting...in the first booth behind the hostess station."

  • "The food and service here is excellent! The only downfall is the music seemed to me a decibel too loud, where you have to talk loudly so the other person across the table can hear you. But the overall atmosphere is great. The lighting is dim so it feels intimate. I think this is a great place for a dinner date."

  • "We love outdoor dining, but not so much at Juniper Grill. They have a definite fruit fly problem outside, which colors the whole experience. The food didn't even seem to taste as good as it usually does... We won't go back for awhile, and if we do it will be indoors"

  • "The food at Juniper Grill is reliably good, the service quite good, and the prices are reasonably within most budgets."

  • "The smell of the wood fired grill immediately lets you know you're in for some great food. I loved the Arctic Char special and my wife really enjoyed the BBQ brisket. The grilled romaine salad was also really special. Excellent beer list and I really appreciated their support of local brewers. My wife had a Lindeman's Framboise and it was a nice touch that they added a fresh raspberry to the bottom of the glass. Can't wait to visit again!"

  • "Restaurant was recommended by a friend. Took 2 customers there for dinner. 2 of us ordered the salmon with rice (daily special). The salmon was slightly undercooked and the rice even more so (actually crunching on some rice). Server was not very well educated on the menu. I'm disappointed as I enjoy taking customers from out of town to local restaurants, not chains. Unfortunately Juniper Grill is off that list."

  • "Great food and service! We started with the Salsa Trio and ordered the Fish Tacos and Pork Enchiladas, everything was delicious. Our server was also excellent. The porch was a great place to sit on a beautiful evening. We will definitely be back and will recommend Juniper Grill to friends."

  • "Food and staff were great. The Managing Partner stopped by our table to thank us. First rate"

  • "We were staying at a hotel in Cranberry Township and used Open Table to identify Juniper Grill for dinner. We had salmon, a Cajun mahi mahi sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. Our meals were prepared perfectly. Our server, Kailyn, was pleasant and attentive. The owner stopped at our table to ask whether we enjoyed our meals. The décor is comfortable and relaxing. Outdoor dining is available. We recommended Juniper to all of our friends and family who live in the North Hills section of Pittsburgh over the next couple of days. We highly recommend giving it a try. We will return on our next visit to the area."

  • "Great variety in menu and all food choices were very good."

  • "Good food, somewhat dark in dinning area, yet quite bright in bar. One order was prepared wrong and was immediately replaced. Good job fixing a mistake."

  • "We keep coming back and brining friends in from out of town. It's my "creature of habit" "go to for sure. It's got a little something for everybody."

  • "The cocktails are great and wait service knowledgeable about them. The bar facing the kitchen is a great way to see all the items on the menu being prepared. Great appetizers. The best cornbread. Filet always done to perfection. We always enjoy our dining experience there."

  • "Main courses rather small for the price - only getting 4 (yes 4) scallops for a main course that is one of the specials is not acceptable."
    Dined on 6/9/2014
  • "My two 4oz filets came with 4 asparagus and my husbands brisket came with potatoes. Our sides were too little to share. Brisket was dry and lacked flavor. My filets were coated with expresso, which did not compliment the flavor. Our wine was $50 and I found it at the state store for $18. Not worth it."

  • "My wife and I dined in the open-windowed porch area of the restaurant on a beautifully mild evening on the last day of May. The server was attentive, knowledgeable and proficient in the explanation of the menu. My wife's salmon was prepared perfectly and the vegetables were very tasty. My barbequed ribs were better than those I had experienced in Memphis!! The spaghetti squash & zucchini combo was sauteed perfectly. "

  • "As always, Juniper Grill delivered on delicious food and a lively atmosphere. I absolutely love the smell of the wood fired grill. You have to wait until dinner to order it, but the Amish chicken is worth the wait. Deeeeee-lish!"

  • "Was looking for a new dining experience not a chain to celebrate our 26th anniversary also needed a good gluten free menu for the wife one that had real food not just regular menu items minus the gluten. Found the Juniper Grill online, read the menu sounded good, read reviews they were positive Made up my mind made a reservation noting the anniversary and the need for gluten free. Arrived, we were seated promptly the wait staff were all very attentive and aware of the occasion and special needs. Ordered an appetizer and our drinks everything was brought very quickly ordered our entrees they also arrived very quickly I had the brisket and pork combo nice size portions great taste wife had the pork enchiladas also very good. Will be back!!!!! "

  • "Juniper Grill has become one of our favorite places to eat. We always ask for Andy to wait on us....he is personable, knows the menu so well, and is attentive without being obtrusive. The food is just great! We have never been disappointed. I had the Southwestern-dusted trout this last time there, and is wanted to lick the plate!"

  • "We had dinner in the patio. the noise was horrible. you could not hear each other talk. good food, but would not go there again if they can't figure out how to dampen the noise."

  • "I was looking forward to dining at Juniper Grill but the experience wasn't that great. The floor plan of the dining room is a bit disjointed and we were sat at a table that was oddly placed. The side room looked more open and inviting. Our server was a bit gruff when we said we needed more time to look over the menu as we were friends who were catching up. I ordered the rib and chicken dinner and while the ribs were good the chicken breast was just room temp and tasted like it had been pre cooked. The server then refilled my half full iced tea instead of bringing me a fresh one. Over all for the price and expectation I was just underwhelmed. "

  • "Overall we had a very nice dinner. The guacamole is very good, would highly recommend it. We also had the cornbread dessert that was surprisingly very tasty! Our food came quickly and the service was adequate. They were already out of one of their specials by 7pm, which was disappointing. "

  • "Food was really good, as was service until about 8 PM on a Friday night. Then we didn't see our waitress for a half hour. Our drinks sat on the bar getting warm. When mine arrived it was the wrong drink. This coincided with a huge influx of customers, so it seemed like they may not have had sufficient staff to handle the crowd. That said, I will go back for sure. I will again go in early. The food is worth it. They make a wonderful homemade guacamole. The brisket and mashed potatoes were fabulous. We had a fabulous chocolate cake for dessert, very moist and fresh. The manager was understanding and provided us with free appetizer coupons for a future visit, as well as comping the late/warm drinks. I can't ask for anything more! "

  • "Took my Mother to Juniper grill for MOther's Day, The service was enjoyable and the food was very good. She had the short rob dinner and I had a small fillet which was on special menu that day. The service was very prompt and attentive . We did not feel rushed at all. We also enjoyed the ice cream of cookies and cream for dessert!! I have been there about 5 times with never a bad meal. "

  • "Whether you visit Juniper Grille for brunch, lunch, or dinner, you will find fresh food, excellent service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu is eclectic, with an array of items not found elsewhere. At Juniper Grille, you will find slow cooked or rotisserie, a southwest flair but not fast food Mexican, Amish chicken, and a cornbread just this side of heaven. The Rotisserie Roasted Chicken and Avocado salad is my very favorite, FRESH and tasty, a healthy portion to fill you, while being light and crunchy. Save room for the Signature Cornbread and Fresh Berry dessert, enough for two. Splendid experience every time."

  • "Once again, an outstanding meal at Juniper Grill, great waitstaff (Andy, our waiter), and how lovely to have free margaritas, chips & dip, and the caramel flan. We keep coming back, and you keep out-doing yourselves!"

  • "My wife and I were there about 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't busy and the service was perfect. People were on their toes. Our waiter Victor provided the right amount of attentiveness. The menu is medium sized, prices one notch above standard exit ramp restaurant but so was the food. I'm usually a volume guy and the quantity wasn't large, but the preparation and presentation made up for it. My wife got fish tacos and I got a barbecue pick 2. Both were great, we certainly got our money's worth. Good wine list, nice interior, blah exterior. Don't let the storefront-look glass walls deter you. Go in, relax and enjoy. One block from the I-79 exit."

  • "Reservations again resulted in standing in the lobby and simply getting priority over the walk in crowd... no actual planning done by the staff for reservations from what I can tell. The service was pretty bad but the restaurant was packed. The appetizer almost came out before the drinks, water glasses remained empty, food came out in stages (sandwich came out 2 minutes before the half cooked fries that joined it). I like the menu and atmosphere, but this place really needs to get its act together. "

  • "Ordered mint juleps. What arrived was some horrid concoction. Stated that the drink was not a mint julep. Waitress said she ordered mint juleps from bar. Did nothing to correct. 2 of us could not drink the thing. Then we ordered wine and tequila and a Pepsi. We had to ask two times for the wine and three for the tequila. Halfway through the dinner service the wine arrived. Tequila later and zero Pepsi. Service was slow and erratic. Were there for a birthday and waitress did not even ask if we wanted dessert. Sad. Also fish was not properly boned and cold. Did not want to ask for replacement, because it probably would not arrive until we were departing. This was not a good experience. Felt waitress just did not want to bother!"

  • "We met friends for dinner and although the food and overall atmosphere was good, the noise level was uncomfortable. I felt like I needed to shout to talk to my friends and could barely hear what they were saying! They need to turn down the music and then hopefully the diners will turn down the volume on their conversations and it will be a more relaxing dining experience. "

  • "our dinner was better the 1st time we where there, but was still very good. we had a server that looked at me like I was nuts for ordering more bbq hot sauce, and by the way he never brought it....we will be back"

  • "We have now eaten here twice. Vicki was our server and did a great job. My wife and I really enjoyed the house salad. One of the best we have ever had. Great meal and we were able to chat with is unusable these days."

  • "This was our 3rd time to Juniper Grill in Cranberry, and it has become a favorite of ours already. The meals have been wonderful, the waitstaff is very personable, and Andy, our waiter, actually remembered us from a previous visit!! We really enjoy the ambiance and appreciate a not-too-long menu, which tells us that the food is fresh. We are glad to see that they are on Open Table now, too.....those points will add up quickly. This place was a great find!"

  • "I am always on the lookout for a new place to eat when visiting Cranberry Township. After reading the reviews of the Juniper Grill I thought it would be worth a try. I dined with my husband and two other couples. 3 ordered salmon with asparagus, 1 ordered a burger with fries, 1 ordered the pork "street tacos" and I ordered a salad with roasted chicken. The folks who ordered salmon thought it was tasty but none thought the asparagus was cooked enough. Everyone sampled the fries and thought they were outstanding. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his mini tacos - seasoned just right. My salad must have been refrigerated all day. The chicken was rock hard and had no flavor. Evidently the fork had been refrigerated, too - it was ice cold! "
