A word from Juniper

Located in a 100-year-old building, Juniper Restaurant's environment is very similar to that of a New Orleans cottage, with cypress floors, New Orleans-type decor, and white tablecloths. A smoke-free establishment where attire in the dressy-casual mode is de regeur, we turn our lights romantically… low for candlelit dinners. For diners who prefer a fresco style, we have outdoor seating. At Juniper Restaurant, we serve progressive Creole cuisine with a European flair. In business for 7 years, our restaurant has a number of unique dishes. Pete's hand steer's the kitchen as surely as any captain steers his craft. Every dish receives his special attention. Energy abounds in all sections of this house and innovation is the watchword. Prices are very competitive. Lunch ranges from $9-$17 and dinners start at $24. Continued

"My wife and I went for Sunday Brunch, the restaurant was not crowded and not busy most likely due to church services across the street. The meal was excellent and unlike most of the supposed brunches served, I think the hollandaise may have been real, not Knorr or whatever other products are out there for commercial use these days. We enjoyed everything, my recommendations is that the waitresses be less occupied with what is going on in the street and instead pay attention to the customer (not hovering, but available), and on the food there was something sweet on the engish muffin that ruined a otherwise perfectly prepared Eggs Benedict, we will be back!"

"Fried Green Tomato appetizer was excellent, blackened brie appetizer - the blueberry compote needed a bit more sweetness to offset the blackening of the brie. The Fried eggplant with seafood was exceptional!"

"This was our fourth time to Junipers. For some reason tonights dinner while very tasty was just not up to the same level as previous visits. It just so happened this was the first time we had dined during the week and not on a weekend, so not sure if that had anything to do with it. Otherwise as usual, the atmosphere and ambiance is quaint and a very enjoyable dining experience. Definitely recommend."

"It's unfortunate that the service does not come close to the food at Juniper. All wait staff during Saturday night dinner (2/25/2012) were unprofessional and apparently poorly managed on how to provide even minimal good service. The lack of decent service almost ruined the whole experience, but the food made up for it. Not sure I would go back again until there's professional service for the prices charged."

"Ate here for Valentine's dinner. Menu selections and specials were excellent. Food was outstanding ! Only hiccup was server had trouble with getting cappuccino to us until well after we'd finished desert when we asked for it with desert."
