  • "Wanting to try for 2 years and finally got a chance. If this had been a French restaurant it would have had Michelin 2*. Enjoyed/ adored every course ( had 5). Very good wine list made up of the very best by reputation. Needs to be a bit more adventuresome. However, the Champagne section is non-pareil. Service excellent. Will return soon--real soon."

  • "In recent trip to NY, I dined at several Michelin starred restaurants such as Le Bernardin, Daniel, Eleven Madison Park, JungSik, Marea, Jean Georges, etc. JungSik was one of my favourite! The room is beautiful and elegant, the space between tables are good and they had a really nice unique Korean themed tableware. We had a tasting menu and the quality of foods, attention to detail, and unique flavor combinations were outstanding. What made our experience really memorable was the service we received from the restaurant and our server(manager/sommelier), Jackie. She was very professional, friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about food and wine I wouldn't be surprised if JungSik gets its 3rd star next year. I would highly recommend!"

  • "Not your everyday Korean at all!!! Nouvelle international food with a Korean twist. A seamless fusion of Korean spices and flavors with European ingredients such as bibimbap with fois gras and Perigod black truffle...Korean risotto! A broad option of choices from seafood to meats, fowl, vegetables, mushrooms. The friendly yet still elegant service was also seamless. Always ready to fold a napkin, pick up an empty plate, refill a wine glass but in a way that you hardly notice. Very knowledgeable and friendly without being effusive."

  • "Over-priced but delicious food in reasonable portions. Beautifully presented. Wonderful service, knowledgeable staff. We fault it for being a bit precious. We ordered a tea after the meal which only at the bill did we see cost $14! The staff should have told us how "special" and costly it was when we ordered! Also we did not like all the intermezzos, which are so 1990s, or the sweets at the end of the meal. We would not have ordered dessert if we had expected them. The two courses we did order were great, and so pretty."

  • "The culinary artistry is absolutely fantastic. But the portions are rather tiny. For example, the "risotto" bowl contained literally one tablespoonful of food. Therefore it is relatively expensive compared to other Michelin starred restaurants. We would not have felt full and satiated if there were no bread presented in the middle of the nine course tasting meal. Even with the bread, we were just barely full. But it was a great experience."

The fried oysters were amazing (they were covered with some sort of squid ink and anchovy aioli), the rice platters (uni, bossam, etc.) were also excellent. Out of the numerous fine dining experiences I've had in Korea as well as in NY, this restaurant surpassed most of them in terms of taste, creativity, and ambience. This place has definitely become my favorite restaurant, I look forward to coming back here for more special occasions to come!"

  • "My wife and i just spent an evening a Junksik for our anniversary and we loved it. We did the tasting menu and my wife did the wine pairing. Food was very good and the wine pairing was spot on. I have done pairing before and they were good but as a self declared wine lover I always want each wine to become more complex with the food. This tasting did that at almost every course. Very well planned pairing for sure. Service was probably the best we have had in NYC and the food was in the top 5 for tastings. Junksik deserved the upgrade to two Michelin stars this year for sure."

  • "This is an amazing restaurant with a very creative menu. We tried the tasting menu. However, the A La carte menu has a good combination of things that you can try. The great thing is that A La carte menu items come in 2 portion size so that you can pick a smaller portion if you want to create your own "tasting menu". Great and attentive service. We had an arguing couple next to our table. They moved us to a different table per request. We will definitely come back. Will be surprised if this restaurant is not going to be on Michelin's list in the future."

Presentation was gorgeous; service was helpfully watchful. Loved my tequila Seoule Rejuvenation cocktail. The tasting menu had scallops, duck, octopus, tuna, red snapper, pork belly -- experience well worth the price tag."
