June RestaurantJune in JuneThis was our second time at June. While we remembered liking it the first time, we hadn't been back for over a year. It was even better than we remembered it! The service was impeccable and the menu diverse and interesting. My wife had the halibut and it was tasty (could have used a few more snow peas) I had the barramundi and enjoyed it on German spring potatoes. We split a side of VERy spicy cauliflower and our only wish is there had been a little more of it. We want to go back with some friends to try the tastiong menu.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMJune's pop up dinners are fabulousEvery Wednesday night June has pop up dinners. This past Wednesday was Greek! The menu is set and the cost is $18 plus what ever you want to spend on cocktails or wine. I love to sample the cuisines as Peoria is really lacking when it comes to ethnic cuisine. June is my favorite restaurant in Peoria.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBig Town Experience in a small TownJune was truly a unique experience in Central Illinois. The Labor intensive food presentation was fabulous. With an open kitchen the food preparation just adds to this great experience. Special requests were honored with great results, unlike big town restaurants. The 7 course tasting paired with wine or beer was fanstastic. Dennis was the host/bartender/ wine expert and had extensive knowledge of each wine and beer. The deserts were not to be overlooked as well to top off a fantastic evening. Prepare to spend 2 to 3 hours as this dining experience is a dining event, not just a meal out. The fresh ingrediants are not to be overlooked and just add to this unique outstanding experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGotta plan for the patrons.........I cannot stop exclaiming over the food at June. It is exceptional. The wine is pretty darn tasty too. But, when you call and they ask if it's a special occasion and you tell them that it's for 2 retirements and then they don't mention anything about them the entire evening, it's disappointing. When you wait for 45 minutes before anything is brought to your table it adds to the disappointment. Also, we had the 7 course dinners and had to ask for bread, silverware, and more water more than once. We did plan on a leisurely dinner and it was indeed that. The wait staff was not sufficient for the clients that they served that night. I expect superior service at this establishment and was not happy that we did not receive it.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful TimeThird visit and each time has been memorable. We are always very impressed by the food and the service is wonderful.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding mealThis was only the second time we've been to June, and absolutely will not be the last. The staff is exceptional, and the food is prepared perfectly. Each course is prepared with an excellent combination of flavors. June is a wonderful spot for a special occasion or just a night out.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey but well worth itWe went for my son's high school graduation with a group of seven. We did the taster menu and were not disappointed. The food selection was unique and absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful, and the staff was thoroughly knowledgeable about the food and wines selected. They also were very conscientious of a food allergy that was brought to their attention. It was an amazing experience that my son will never forget.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful as always! We enjoy June for great dining with friends or just the two of us. We love the creativity of the options and the beautiful presentation. We we definitely be back soon!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie heaven right in PeoriaWhat a gem. Our family has dined here twice for Graduation celebration. This second time was even better than the first! We love June!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food, Impeccable serviceOne of the biggest surprises and enjoyed evenings. The restaurant was very low key but the food equaled any fine serving in a larger city. We were there to celebrate a birthday and had flown in from Honolulu. Our guest knew of June but had not gone there. We made reservations and all expectations were exceeded. We highly recommend doing the Tasting menu. A great opportunity to sample many dishes and enjoy excellent food.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMPop up WednesdaysJune has started doing pop up dinners on Wednesdays. This week it was Puerto
Rican. The menu is set with two different menus per month. This week the flan for dessert had my fellow diners licking their spoons like little kids. I highly recommend June.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AM5 Stars for Peoria ChefEverything about June is exceptional! We are so fortunate to have such excellence I this community! Every dish is fabulous but the poached egg 2nd course is always a favorite. Service is the best we have ever had.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food with a leisurelyAwesome food with a leisurely pace to enjoy our dinner. Fine dining at its best!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect visitLoved everything, from the food, service, and music/ambience - Ryan was a fantastic server, answering all our questions about the various creative dishes. Hope to be back to try the full tasting menu in the future.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner was very good, althoughDinner was very good, although it took two hours to get all of our courses delivered. I believe there was a wedding party in theback room though. Nevertheless, the manager comped our drinks. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere, the open kitchen is a nice touch. 230 dollar bill for 3 three-course meals and drinks.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is amazing and the wineFood is amazing and the wine pairings were excellent.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMJune - Foodie Fantasy Land!June is a Peoria treasure. We've dined at 5 Star restaurants all over the USA, and June is right up there with the best. Quantities of food are small and, for the area, the price is high, but the quality and presentation of ALL the selections are second to none. We have dined at June several times and the experience is always superior. We've never been disappointed at June.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was great to find June!It was great to find June! We came from Bloomington and were not disappointed. Will go back again!
They were very attentive and helped us pair wines with our dishes.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAn anniversary to rememberMy wife and I recently celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary at June's. We chose the tasting menu with the wine pairings. The quality of food was superb and the portions were such that we didn't feel stuffed when we were done. We will definitely return.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPeoria is lucky to have aPeoria is lucky to have a dining place as amazing as this. Disappointed I didn't know about this hidden gem sooner. Only downfall is the service is exceptionally slow.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I had the sevenMy husband and I had the seven course tasting with wine pairing. It was fabulous. Every course was visually stunning, and the food was exceptional. I was wondering if I was going to be full at the end of the meal due to a few reviews I had read prior to our visit. I was absolutely full by the end of the night. Did not disappoint in anyway. We did not want the night to end. We will absolutely come back to June.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are blessed to have theWe are blessed to have the best chef in the Great Lakes region, and please don't take my word for it, this is from Food and Wine magazine.
This is the next best thing for foodies, other than a guest appearance on Iron Chef, "fat chance"...
You see your food prepped, plated, served and an explanation of what you about to partake. Even seemingly mundane items are taken to a new level of sublime; try the egg!
Every experience my wife and I have had at June is the topic of conversation for days.
Now if I can just land a gig as a Sous chef....3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIF you're a big eater, don'tIF you're a big eater, don't go. But, if you want to taste some interesting, unusual, and delicious food - and you're willing to pay for the experience - this is the place for you.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperlative food, wonderfullySuperlative food, wonderfully orchestrated and presented. Beer/wine/drinks pairings were surprisingly good. Place is a bit cramped. The pop-up dinners at $18pp are an incredibly good deal.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining in PeoriaJosh Adams has brought his own blend of creative farm-to-table cuisine to Peoria, and thanks to him for that! His restaurant is a delight and chef Josh continues to experiment and improve. Watching him and his crew prepare courses in his impeccably clean open kitchen is almost as fun as the eats. Portions are small, but the idea is to order 2 or 3 and enjoy. Many people in this area are of the all-you-can-eat persuasion, but June has stayed true to its philosophy of seasonal ingredients prepared with great skill and invention.
His Wednesday night pop-up dinners are inexpensive and fun, and are a nice change from the usual fine dining menu.
Keep it coming!2/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
