June RestaurantPop up WednesdaysJune has started doing pop up dinners on Wednesdays. This week it was Puerto
Rican. The menu is set with two different menus per month. This week the flan for dessert had my fellow diners licking their spoons like little kids. I highly recommend June.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AM5 Stars for Peoria ChefEverything about June is exceptional! We are so fortunate to have such excellence I this community! Hope to be back to try the full tasting menu in the future.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner was very good, althoughDinner was very good, although it took two hours to get all of our courses delivered. I believe there was a wedding party in theback room though. Nevertheless, the manager comped our drinks. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere, the open kitchen is a nice touch. 230 dollar bill for 3 three-course meals and drinks.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is amazing and the wineFood is amazing and the wine pairings were excellent.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMJune - Foodie Fantasy Land!June is a Peoria treasure. We've dined at 5 Star restaurants all over the USA, and June is right up there with the best. Quantities of food are small and, for the area, the price is high, but the quality and presentation of ALL the selections are second to none. We have dined at June several times and the experience is always superior. We've never been disappointed at June.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was great to find June!It was great to find June! We came from Bloomington and were not disappointed. Will go back again!
They were very attentive and helped us pair wines with our dishes.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAn anniversary to rememberMy wife and I recently celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary at June's. We chose the tasting menu with the wine pairings. The quality of food was superb and the portions were such that we didn't feel stuffed when we were done. We will definitely return.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPeoria is lucky to have aPeoria is lucky to have a dining place as amazing as this. Disappointed I didn't know about this hidden gem sooner. Only downfall is the service is exceptionally slow.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I had the sevenMy husband and I had the seven course tasting with wine pairing. It was fabulous. Every course was visually stunning, and the food was exceptional. I was wondering if I was going to be full at the end of the meal due to a few reviews I had read prior to our visit. I was absolutely full by the end of the night. Did not disappoint in anyway. We did not want the night to end. We will absolutely come back to June.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are blessed to have theWe are blessed to have the best chef in the Great Lakes region, and please don't take my word for it, this is from Food and Wine magazine.
This is the next best thing for foodies, other than a guest appearance on Iron Chef, "fat chance"...
You see your food prepped, plated, served and an explanation of what you about to partake. Even seemingly mundane items are taken to a new level of sublime; try the egg!
Every experience my wife and I have had at June is the topic of conversation for days.
Now if I can just land a gig as a Sous chef....3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIF you're a big eater, don'tIF you're a big eater, don't go. But, if you want to taste some interesting, unusual, and delicious food - and you're willing to pay for the experience - this is the place for you.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperlative food, wonderfullySuperlative food, wonderfully orchestrated and presented. Beer/wine/drinks pairings were surprisingly good. Place is a bit cramped. The pop-up dinners at $18pp are an incredibly good deal.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining in PeoriaJosh Adams has brought his own blend of creative farm-to-table cuisine to Peoria, and thanks to him for that! His restaurant is a delight and chef Josh continues to experiment and improve. Watching him and his crew prepare courses in his impeccably clean open kitchen is almost as fun as the eats. Portions are small, but the idea is to order 2 or 3 and enjoy. Many people in this area are of the all-you-can-eat persuasion, but June has stayed true to its philosophy of seasonal ingredients prepared with great skill and invention.
His Wednesday night pop-up dinners are inexpensive and fun, and are a nice change from the usual fine dining menu.
Keep it coming!2/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
