Diner Reviews
  • "Went there on a Sunday night and was my first time there. The place was empty, probably due to the hotel and downtown in general not being busy, but the service was good, the food was great, and it was a very nice experience. Would like to try the bar on a busier night. No kids menu from what I saw. Maybe they bring them out separately if kids are there, not sure."

  • "We enjoyed their special Eat Up Downtown menu and the food was fantastic! We will return for special occasions to try some of the items on their regular menu."

  • "Overall our experience was very good for our first time dining here. We will return"

  • "Great hotel and location but food quality of the Eat Up Downtown selection was just okay unfortunately. The bread rolls were not good. The wedge salad dressing mediocre and sauce on short ribs not satisfying. One outstanding item was the Pinto Bean Gumbo prepared New Orleans style. There is room for improvement with quality. The presentation of the food was done well, but it did not make up for the overall food experience. The bar area is nice and I definitely have this as a go to place when the occasion arises."

  • "Our server immediately greeted us and took our drink orders. For appetizers, my husband ordered "black bean gumbo" and I ordered the "fried green tomatoes". My appetizer was wonderful, nice batter, with a mustard dipping sauce. My husband's gumbo was inedible. He likes spicy food but the gumbo was inedible. The waitress came by immediately to check on us. When my husband explained about the gumbo, she whisked it away, apologized, and brought him a 2nd appetizer, all in less than 2 mins. When you have a problem in a restaurant, this is the kind of action you want."

  • "I've dined at Juliette's a couple of times a year for several years. Because the tables are along a half wall with banquettes and chairs, it doesn't get too loud, but you are in close proximity to other diners. The food is well presented, with excellent service. It can be busy, or, midweek, empty. If dining before a show or symphony, I recommend a reservation. Our entrees were perfectly prepared, but the fried green tomatoes were a disaster. Thick pockets of dough with a hint of green rattling around the hollow inside. Our terrific server, Turner, told the chef who revised the recipe. This time thicker wedges of green tomato came encased in a thin batter so you got the taste of texture of tomato. Much better."

  • "We went because we saw this place on the Eat Up Downtown website and its menu caught our eye. The food was extremely disappointing, I think I only took 2 bites out of each course. I won't be going back, and I do not recommend this place."

  • "I like the variety of choices at Juliette's and they have always been tasty. The server was excellent despite the fact that he had a huge party all by himself. We had a nice evening and shall return again."

  • "The food is good. Parking can be a hassle. Service is Ok."

  • "Food was amazing. Had a great time with friends. The waiters were very courteous and attentive. Also, very knowledgeable about the menu selections."

  • "Our appetizers were terrific: black eyed pea gumbo was somthing I've never had before and the fried green tomatoes were delicious. I very much enjoyed my filet mignon and my husband had a whole fried fish that made him think he had died and gone to heaven. We drank a nice bottle of wine. The portion sizes were generous but not obnoxious. We overall had a great meal and plan to return with my parents."

  • "My wife's seafood risotto was outstanding and so was my "Catch of the Day" red snapper. The restaurant surpassed our expectations."

  • "The buffet was limited and basically not what I expected. How can you cook a Gumbo without CRAB!!!!!!! The service was great though."

  • "Juliette's food is good (better this visit than before), service is always good, and prices are reasonable. This isn't where you'd go for an important dinner occasion, but it works well before a concert because of its location."

  • "Quick and goood. No complaints. They were able to accommodate me when I was late because of a traffic accident. I only had 45 minutes before the show and was able to make the show on time."

  • "Had a reservation, but they said there was no table and put us in the bar. Food in the buffet line was cold. I reported it to the manager and he was flustered as to what to do. I live in Jacksonville and will NOT be back."

  • "I wanted a Mother's Day brunch no where near the Town Center or TPC so Juliette's was it. I was say the food was average (good, but average); nothing mind-blowing. I also felt like the staff was a bit disorganized that morning; maybe since it was a Mother's Day Brunch. Not sure what a normal brunch service would include so I can't really comment on that. I enjoyed that there was a live instrumental group playing. That was nice. I may wind up going back again just to really formulate a better opinion. "

  • "We were going to a concert so we made our reservation for 5:30 (opening time). It was almost 6:00 before someone took our order and we had to go find someone to do it them. Someone needs to do a better job of training the staff."

  • "We were greeted by name when we checked in by a friendly staff. That was the best part of our dinner that night. The waitress didn't know about the fish of the day other than the name. She took our order and delivered our food, that was about it. The food was good, but not great. The Wedge Salad with warm bacon dressing was no more than a wedge (as expected) with cold mustard dressing and bacon chips on the plate, really not worth the $8. My wife's shrimp were a bit undercooked and even though they were billed as fried, they were sauteed. My entree was good, no complaints. Overall, this night it was just a restaurant, not a great dining experience."

  • "We live an hour away from Jacksonville and when attending performances at the Times Union, the Arena, or the Florida Theater, we stay overnight at the Omni. Juliette's is a great place to eat prior to the show and to have cocktails after the show. Great food and service. "

  • "Good for a quick dinner before going to the theater."

  • "Very convenient if you plan on attending a show at the Times Union Center next door. Would prefer if they had less seafood on the menu and also a larger variety of appetizers and maybe add some "small bite" type items. Service was good and good was good. "

  • "Shrimp creole consisted of two shrimp a few tomatoes served over a cold waffle. The snapper offered had no flavor to dry to even finish. The asparagus were however good. The eggs benefit were disaster. Dry and extremely Overcooked eggs and again lacked any seasoning Finally the chicken was ordinary side items on the buffet line were not the quality I have gotten at Julieettes the many of the dishes were empty with no attempt to refrsh. "

  • "We were looking for an Easter Sunday buffet/brunch that would fit this special occasion and settled on the Omni. The table was ready upon our arrival and the service was impeccable. The food however fell way short of our expectations. We ordered from a very limited menu of only six entrees. There was a basic salad bar with a few extras thrown such as shrimp and raw oysters. The desert bar was equally non descript. We left very disappointed after paying our $110.00 bill for two including tip. Jacksonville has some outstanding restaurants, but the Omni is not one of them. "

  • "I am not a fan of the new menu. They took away some of my favorites, like the shrimp nachos, crab cake appetizer, and salmon BLT. We often like to eat here before the Symphony concerts. The food is decent but the new menu is a bit pricey. The lunch buffet is a good deal and nicely presented. I wish they would have the buffet before the concerts since they dropped so many of the reasonably priced items from the old menu. "

  • "I work in downtown Jacksonville and hadn't been to Juliette's in quite a while and was so pleased to discover it has been newly renovated and remodeled. Very refreshing and relaxing downtown spot in the Omni Hotel and Office tower, and a nice quiet alternative to the noise and bustle of the restaurants at The Landing. Would highly recommed as a choice for dining before or after a concert, or to meet a friend for happy hour after work. The food was very good (some entrees had a nice New Orleans flair) and the service excellent."

  • "We'd never been to Juliette's Bistro, and went there before the musical Memphis at the Times-Union Center across the street. Great dinner. Perfect timing. Loved it. Happy to have such an elegant restaurant in downtown Jax."

  • "Tried it before a show at the theatre. Good location, great service staff, but food leaves a lot to be desired. Very limited dinner menu and the quality/taste of the food was very bland. Had shrimp and pasta dish that was exactly that, shrimp mixed with pasta and no flavor....shrimp was mushy. Wife had chicken expecting a chicken breast but it looked and tasted more like a mystery meat...disappointed because we had high expectations. Will not return."

  • "I had the Blackened Snapper and it was terrible. Way over cooked and dry as a bone. I am not sure it was even snapper. Texture was more like grouper. There was a conference of songwriters where a group played amplified music facing into the restaurant. You could not carry on a conversation at the table because of the loud music. I will not be back. Dennis R Markos"

  • "Simple menu with everything done extremely well. Scallops and Shrimps not overcooked. Caesar salad with anchovy vinaigrette could use more anchovy flavor (would have preferred real anchovies). Service perfect. Good wine list. Table in the hotel atrium added to the spacious uncrowded ambiance."

  • "This restaurant has a great location, especially when you are going to a show across the street. The food is nothing special, and the wine list leaves much to be desired. Both of our meals where lukewarm at best. The service was exceptional."

  • "We chose Juliette's because we had tix to Warhorse across the street and my wife had been there before the remodel and said the food and service were fine. The restaurant was less than 1/2 full when we arrived and yet it was 10 minutes before our waitress came to see us. It was all downhill from there. Everything took way too long to come and although we got out in time for the show it was nerve racking. I was in position to watch most of the restaurant's wait staff and realized that it was a matter of very poor management. I could see our waitress serving tables on the opposite end of the place. All of the wait staff has to enter the orders into a single touch screen on the far end of the place. They were at times lined up 3 deep waiting"
