Diner Reviews
  • "Dined here with 9 friends and at time of seatin, there was an irritating glitch. I originally reserved through open table for 6 and day before brunch date, I spoke to Karston to request seating for addl 4. He said it was fine but when we arrived, reservation was for 6. Had to wait 15 minutes for the rest of the group to be seated. Not a good start. The 4 of us sat and we placed our order and when food arrived we had no silverware even though we asked earlier. My observation was it was to busy and wait staff had difficulty just providing the basics. Noise level very loud & we had to shout to converse. Although there were negatives, I would still recommend Julia's. Food was delicious and generous portions. "

  • "Had dinner at Julia's prior to the show "la Faux"...which is fantastic. Food is so-so but drinks are good. Well worth the going and would go again!!"

  • "Julia's has an old Seattle feel with the older architecture. However, the menu has many options and the drink menu is very current and relevant. Food was fast, plentiful and prepared well. None of that fancy, mini serving stuff here! We stayed for the show - which I highly recommend! The people were friendly and the place was a buzz with good energy! From the welcome at the door to the exit point - 100% Great!"

  • "Its great to find a place open on Christmas! The staff was fantastic and the food good. No complaints onyl praise for the dedicated folks who worked on a holiday so the lazy crowd had somewhere to eat. Thanks and kudos!!"

  • "Truly tasty buffet at Julia's for Thanksgiving, fresh and plenty of it, excellent service. Don't depend on Open Table for reservations, call the restaurant directly."

  • "It had been Julias in over a year, almost forgot why until we sat down. The chairs are terrible. Besides the chairs being so bad my experience on Thanksgiving was great. Food was yummy and our waitress was ver attentive."

  • "What a great way to spend Sunday enjoying the drag show at Julia's. We celebrated our anniversary here and it was awesome. Good show and the wait staff, especially the mgr, was very sensitive to our needs without being a stalker. Good energy and a fun time."

  • "The staff was very professional and pleasant. The omlet really lacked cheese, otherwise it was an okay spot. Oh they have high chairs for toddlers."

  • "Had a great time, awesome food, overall a nice place to spend our second anniversary :D"

  • "I took friends to the show and we decided to eat dinner before hand. The service was very slow and seemed to be due to the many people there for the show. Wait staff was pleasant enough when we saw them, but that was not often. They had more swait staff for the show then it seemed for dinner which struck me as odd. The food was OK... nothing special or notable. The menu online seemed more extensive than the one we actually ordered from. For a restaurant on Broadway I expected a bit more. for those interested, the show is amazing. Great group of people, high energy, a lot of fun! I highly recommend it."

  • "We had eggs benidict and the sauce was a bit thick and somewhat cold. The place was very noisy and somewhat dark. The service was a little slow. I'm sorry to be negative but that was the way it was!"

  • "In all kindness.. We left a review for Marksen earlier this week regarding a La Faux Show faux pas.. yet to hear back on that :c[ but then we get asked for a review on our experience now???? .. like it's never been read??? Julia's is a place we'd like to freguent but bugged about the lack of ownership on this boo boo. Issue: Jinkx announced 3 days before show via facebook (we didn't catch the buzz on that til after sadly) and were majorly bumbed. Kindly ~ Marksen didn't seem to care about our situation. Really Sad. Really wanted to become a regular at Julia's. We just wanted to be reimbursed the money so we could come back and tip the staff with every bit of it.. That's all. Again, Kindly: Michelle, Trish, Nancy, Lynn."

  • "Especially great when combined with a cabaret show."

  • "Had the sense that this was a hangout for the GLBT crowd, OK with us, and interesting. Food was well prepared and tasty. Salads especially good. Not gourmet, but god for the price."

  • "We had a blast, 3 friends who haven't seen each other in a long time got together."

  • "I went for a special occasion and made reservations on Open Table. I assumed that making reservations meant that we would get a table, but apparently I was mistaken. We all had planned on eating dinner, but without a table we all went hungry for 3 hours instead. It was an event that centered on watching a television show on a large screen and the set up was okay but there were many issues. The show kept on cutting out and the quality was awful. The service was also totally unacceptable. Servers completely ignored us and everything was completely disorganized. For a bar that puts on a twice-weekly drag show that is often sold out, I had much higher expectations."

  • "Hoped to continue a Thanksgiving tradition for a 3rd year in a row. HUGE disappointment. Will not be going back."

  • "We met friends at Julia's for Thanksgiving dinner. It was more than we expected. The only complaint, there was too much food."
    Dined on 11/22/2012
  • "Julia's was wonderful on Thanksgiving night! I got together with two of my friends and we received a great meal, reasonably priced. We were seated right away and checked on often enough without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant."
    Dined on 11/22/2012
  • "The waiter was rushed and forgot our salads. It was a full-meal, Thanksgiving course of soup+salad, main entree and a desert. We did not ask about the salad as our main course had arrived, immediately after our soup. The waiter took our salad order in terms of dressing, twice....and then forgot. The environment seemed stressed out so we just let it go.."

  • "Poor quality pulled, stringy turkey & the most terrible so-called pumpkin pie we've ever had in our lives. No special features."
    Dined on 11/22/2012
  • "I had a veggie burger. It didn't have much flavor, worst than any other veggie burger I ever had."
    Dined on 9/1/2012
  • "Subpar food, mediocre service. The only plus was that the show Le Faux was great. Any decent restaurant should take Amex... hint hint hint. Once the waiter took his shirt off things got much better."

  • "Stopped in on a Saturday morning for brunch. As a Georgia girl I had to try the biscuits and gravy and I'm pleased to say they were fantastic!! The potatoes were awesome too! The atmosphere was very laid back and the service was very friendly and efficient. I'd definitely visit here again!"

  • "I had been to the Julia's in Wallingford and loved it. The Broadway location is much closer to my home so I thought it would be a great breakfast spot. I was very mistaken; the two restaurants might share a name and website, but are very different. The Wallingford location is a great neighborhood spot, with great food and great service. The Broadway location had its large sliding glass doors open to invite the high 50s air in (too cold), the food was mediocre and so was the service. So next time I will drive further instead of walking and enjoy myself much more."

  • "Great for all kinds of events. Even Bachelor/Bachelorette parties for the Le Faux show! Food was Fantastic and the servers were genuinely concerned about our experience also fast and very attentive!"

  • "Service & food was great! Wish the show was running when we went, but we're looking forward to going back in Jan or Feb to grab dinner, drinks, & the show! All in all it started a fun girls night out!"

  • "One of the only restaturants open on Christmas! The menu is limited, but the meals were well-prepared and quick. Susbtitutions were graciously accomodated. Comfortable and not too loud."
