I had not been to Julia's in Wallingford for years even though it used to be a fav of mine. Met a friend there for breakfast this week, just basic eggs, bacon, fruit, toast and coffee. It was delicious and the wait staff was great. I'd go back.

My family has been going to Julia's for decades. After quite an absence (for me - now living out of town) it was really nice to see that the quality has held up. Group of 5 - good food all around - enjoyable brunch.

I reserved dinner reservations using Open Table. I looked at the menu Open Table provided, it looked good and creative all American food. When we got there the menu was very different. Much of what I saw on the open table's menu was not listed. I felt lied to. I should have went to Julia's website, but I assumed the menu would match what Open Table provided. After looking at the menu, a waitress arrived asking what we wanted to eat. She didn't ask what we would like to drink or even tell us about the special of the evening. Once we got our food, our waitress checked on us rather quickly & then never returned again. It was not a busy evening. After sitting there with empty plates for 20 minutes, we had to flag her down to get our check.

Though our opentable reservation was not received by the restaurant*, they quickly accommodated our group of 8 on Thanksgiving. Our waiter was friendly and prompt, even though the restaurant was slammed. I was particularly impressed by how the waiter handled my elderly dad, who has always been one to yell at people indiscriminately when they can't read his mind. The waiter was kind and respectful, but firm, which was exactly what was needed. Dad calmed down and enjoyed his meal. The food was excellent, as well. We will be back. *Make sure you call to confirm your online reservation on the day of the reservation.

Busy enough but not crammed with folks that you feel rushed to enjoy a good breakfast on a weekday morning. Eggs cooked exactly to order. Good coffee and the huevos rancheros are one of my favorite menu items. Service is friendly and patient.

  • I'd give this place 2 or 3

I'd give this place 2 or 3 stars; 3 being on the generous side. I went to Julia's for dinner during the week at 7pm and the place was completely empty. Our server was a little strange with the way he interacted with us and admitted to the place having some problems, but said the food wasn't one of them. All in all I wounded up paying about $16 for a burger that was so so. I was excited about this place since it is in my neighborhood, but there are definitely better places to get the standard fare.

Needed a spot near the university district for dinner before a Saturday night show. Dressed to the nines, we stood out a little in this restaurant. The service was great- our waiter was funny and attentive. Not the place to go for cocktails, but definitely the place to go if you are hungry and want rich food in large portions.

Two of us were in the area and discovered this great place. We were there for an early dinner on a weeknight, and there were no other customers when we arrived. We received the perfect amount of attention from our server -- friendly and helpful but not overbearing. The menu had so many great items that we ordered several small dishes to share, including a mimosa, one pork slider, the hummus, and a tuna melt. It was all delicious! We are especially interested in all the brunch offerings, so we'll be back to try that. They make their own bread, which did not disappoint. Very glad we discovered this place!

  • The bset place to eat in Seattle
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013
    Dined on 1/5/2013
I wrote you folks an e-mail the day after our dinner at "Julia's". Simply put "you are now our best favorite place to eat in Wallingford and yes even Seattle". My mother lives a few blocks away and they come for breakfast on ocassion but it was their first dinner. The food was hot as in steaming and that does not happen at most restaurants. The food was fresh. The food was well prepared. OK it was the best dinning expierence I have had in a very long time. Suggestion: Keep it small, keep it fresh, keep it hot...Dang Good...Don't let the word out or we might not be able to get a seat. Thank RJG

I love Julia's. There are healthy choices and naughty choices, whichever suits you. My kids loved the pancakes! The grown-ups had the salmon eggs benedict. It was great. Our waitress lacked any kind of personality at all but the busboy was fun.

Went to have a family reunion for our out of state Goddaughter ( Pennsylvania) to visit with her Great Uncle and his wife (both 84). Had not seen them in a very long time.. It was a great place to catchup.. Young waiter took very good care of us.. had the orange cinnamon roll french toast..with a side of ham.YUM.. My husband had the biscuit and gravy and the older couple told the young man what they wanted and he created the bill accordingly. Our first time there but we will return.. WE live in Stanwood, this was Seattle but we knew that the older couple could find Julia's just fine. It was a great special event for all.

Julia's is probably much better as a breakfast/lunch option. Not even sure why they were open as we were the only diners. The waiter was great, the food a little less then average and the venue was tired and from the 70's. I guess it would be OK for families at dinner but for a couple it really didn't work.
