We had dinner reservations on a Saturday night for a fairly large group (5 adults and 4 children). They were very accommodating and very patient with the kids. The food was excellent (particularly the appetizers), my main dish was salmon (Salmon en Salsa de Toronja) and it was fixed perfectly. My favorite course is always the bread pudding (Pudin de Pan) for dessert and Julia's has the best cappucinos in town.Julia's Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. It is so good I would recommend it to anybody to try within 30 hours of having a brain biopsy (which I have done last year--you too will feel much better afterwards).

The restaurant was 90 percent open, and we soon found out why. The food was not great, or exciting by any means. We had the pork and snapper dishes and they were just simple and edible. This is the most accurate way to describe it. The lobster bisque was good, once we sent it back to the kitchen because it was cold. Overall, it was just a ho-hum. The bread pudding dessert was good. I am not a fan of gratuities on parties of 2; and I am certainly not big on 20 percent gratuities. But that's what you get when you dine at Julia's Bistro. I strongly suggest passing on this place.
