Diner Reviews
  • "We made a reservation based on some other good reviews, but we're pretty disappointed. It was incredibly loud for starters & my husband could hardly hear a word I was saying. I expect that in a bar but not the entire restaurant. We were seated, but after the initial server assistant/busboy came to tell us our server would be over soon to go over the menu with us it took another 30 minutes for anyone to come and we had to wait that long just for water! The busboy apparently forgot that when he greeted us. All of the entrees we ordered were presented well but the taste left a lot to be desired. We had the grilled shrimp, Maryland crab & avo, short ribs & beef & cheese. I wouldn't recommend any of them. The mixed romaine salad was decent"

  • "I had read some bad reviews on this restaurant but I am glad that I went to eat there. The food was OVER the top delicious."

  • "Food was excellent. Service level was low. I didn't feel that we were welcomed at all. Our service staff seldom come to the table."

  • "Love this place! Such a selection of fabulous small plates. Their sangria is also excellent, the red, white & sparkling."

  • "Sea food is not fresh at all. And my sever DID NOT tell us they charge for water so I ended up paying $70 for water only which is ridiculous. There are definitely better restaurant and Spanish food out in Vegas. Disappointed."

  • "The pitcher of sangria was the best thing we ordered! Loved the bacon wrapped dates too!"

  • "Restaurant and service were amazing. Food was delicious. Will definitely return."

  • "I was a little disappointed with some of the dishes - they were all extremely small and 3 out of 5 were sweet - not a fan of sweet dinner. It was expensive considering how little you actually got toeat. It was OK, but my husband didn't like it all, so no return trips!"

  • "Food was not impressive - looks good on paper. The tapas idea is great but the food was not impressive."
    Dined on 8/6/2014
  • "We could not decide which of two dishes we liked the best so we ordered them again. Everything was tasty and well presented. The waiter had been there since the restaurant opened in 2009 and really knew his job. Lovely experience."

  • "The menu looked great but the food didn't live up to the menu and advertising. The ceviche was not ready (raw, needed more time in the lime juice). The tapas were generally greasy. Individual pieces were different sizes, looked odd. The champagne was cool, not cold. We left after our first round of tapas and went to another restaurant in the Aria which was spectacular. Too noisy for easy conversation."

  • "Although the portions are small... it really is worth for your buck."

  • "Everything was exceptional, however the piaella we ordered was supposed to take 45 minutes and arrived in probably about 20, so in that sense we felt a bit rushed. However our server was apologetic and said that that was not the way it should have been done. I would indeed go back and sample their food again."

  • "Excellent choices - everything was delicious. Try tuna cones, chilies, dates, sparkling sangria and the churros."

  • "I am not a fan of Spainish but this was the best Spanish food I had thus far. We tried many of our server's (Beatrice) suggestions and they were all great, the best bite was the oxtail tapa. The prices are a bit high but for Las Vegas strip, the price seemed on par perhaps cheaper than many of the high end place. Sour cherry cocktail was amazing with the food, I enjoyed it although I rarely drink. The ambiance is electric some can be hard to hear or converse during dinner."

  • "The only complaint I had was that in a nearly empty restaurant they put my husband and I in a corner. The service was otherwise fine, the food very good the wine quite pricey but the atmosphere for me was nonexistent. I faced a wall and could not wait for the meal to end."

  • "If I still lived in Las Vegas I would go often for the fine selection of Tapas dishes. The menu has many classics and new wave items to enjoy. The food is well prepared and presented. The Somm and his service is top notch. The restaurant present good price value experience."

  • "The restaurant had a great look to it and it wasn't really crowded at lunch time. the lobster gazpacho was great. The salmon was cooked really well. I would recommend this restaurant to others."

  • "We have taken large groups to dinner at Julian Serrano twice. Definitely get a reservation for large groups, and make sure that everyone is there on time! They would not seat incomplete parties, but we made our way to the bar while we waited for the stragglers. Tapas is a fun option, as it gives everyone a chance to try a few different things. I would not order the duck salad again, but the other small plates were good and our shared paella was rather nice."

  • "The Serrano and pata negra hams were so soooo very good...."

  • "The Spanish-themed menu at Julian Serrano was quite authentic. As one might expect from a restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip, the prices were a bit high compared to a neighborhood haunt. We had the paella and it was indeed quite filling for two people. It was a bit loud and the tables are just a bit too big to easily have a normal conversation."

  • "Review title says it all. We greatly enjoyed selecting interesting dishes, discovering they were all delicious, and sharing them until we were sated. The Gazpacho is excellent. Also black rice, tuna "carpaccio" and MANY others. The Paella was delicious but not as special as the myriad of other dishes."

  • "Wonderful tapas!! Had peppers stuffed with goat cheese, crispy artichokes, japanese eggplant, oxtail with mashed potatoes, iberico and beef sliders. The favorite was the peppers with their luscious sauce that was finished up by cleaning the plate with bread. All were really excellent. Unfortunately, the mixed paella was not as successful. it had a somewhat overwhelming smokiness which made the rice almost unpalatable. We mentioned to the waiter that we enjoyed the tapas more than the paella (without actually complaining about the dish.) He comped us two of our three desserts ( all excellent, especially the churros with chocolate/chili dipping sauce) because of that comment. Cocktails excellent as was sangria. Knowledgeable staff."

  • "The restaurant is a little crowded, they could rethink their table placement. We sat off a peninsula on the bar. Four of us went to have a fun dinner before seeing a show. The We had a blast, the cocktails were amazing (even if a bit pricey, but hey, it is Vegas) The menu is massive. Ask for advice from your server! Our server, Jason, recommended the oxtail and yellowtail tiradito, two of our favorite dishes. Definitely order the tuna cones, they didn't finish the meal, but they finished us!"

  • "The tapas were interesting, unique and delicious. The sommelier was helpful and knowledgable. The food is really excellent here. The wine/ sherry selection was enticing. My only concern was the lack of any dress code. I was dressed in dress slacks and shirt. I was overdressed. I saw men in shorts and tshirts and women in jean cut offs. I realize this is Las Vegas in July, but the restaurant has a/c, so there is no need to come in and look like you are at a beach bar. The restaurant must be desperate for business, so wear whatever you want. But then the prices should come down to "beach bar" prices."

  • "My favorites were the black rice, the tuna cones, and the marinated olives (though I admit, my favorite part of the olives was the garlic!). Awesome, awesome dinner. Everyone at my table (all nine of us) LOVED it!"

  • "When you open the menu here, the food choices are overwhelming. You can get something in every category of food imaginable - from Ahi tartar to vegetarian to full steak entrees. The tapas are generous portions but small enough to try several items from the menu. We loved the bacon wrapped dates and the chicken coquettes, but everything we ordered was done with flair and perfection. Note, this is not a quiet, relaxing, romantic scene. The openness of the restaurant is deceiving as it is very, very loud here. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you want a high energy setting to enjoy tapas and drinks, but don't expect to have any deep conversations here. The pace is frenetic but we never felt rushed and the servers were top notch."

  • "Arranged a booking online for a group of 18 for a Bachelor party, requested the $59 set menu. Upon arrival was approached by the waiter who stated he didn't think the set menu was an accurate reflection of the variety of food available and offered a different option for $60pp basically filling the table with dish after dish after. The dishes kept coming all evening- excellent value for money, great service including advising two people with allergies which dishes to avoid. Waiter staff were advised we only had a limited amount of time due to transport arrangements and were served our first dishes within minutes of this. Great selection of tapas, amazing food and vibrant friendly restaurant!"

  • "It was extremely loud, so much that we could barely hear anyone in our group of six talk. Waiter could have does a better job with dinner suggestions, his recommendation for three orders of each tapas would have been way too much of each dish. I will say the food was well prepared and very good."

  • "With so many good restaurants don't other with this one. The tapas? The chicken croquet reminded me of high school cafeteria. The chicken skewers? Boiled tasteless chicken and a few random vegetables and a sauce I couldn't find any flavor in. Tuna? Four tiny cubes of flavorless tuna with sesame seeds - how perfectly unimaginative. Sandwiches - dry chicken and if not for the garlic spread no flavor. Sangria was very good though. Service? We had two sandwich orders. They brought one - other didn't show up until for 10 minutes. They forgot one of the tapas orders, we had to beg to get our sangria. And they did comp us one order as things were so bad."

  • "Excellent dinner! Two people at our table got the fixed menu (an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert) for just over $30 which was a great deal. My husband and I shared the tuna cones, beef and steak, short ribs, and papas bravos which were all excellent. Most meals are "small plates" which made them ideal for sharing. We had churros with melted chocolate for dessert which was (unsurprisingly) excellent. I would definitely go back again."

  • "My first visit to Julian Serrano was for lunch. The food was smashingly good--the best tapas I'd ever had. Last weekend while in LV for a conference, I went with 4 coworkers for dinner. I'd been raving about the food. They went on my recommendation. The food was just...ok. Certainly not worth what we paid for it as far as my companions were concerned. I was disappointed and a little embarrassed. I'm hoping it was just an off night...still, not sure I'd recommend it as loudly again."

  • "My girlfriend and I love paella and this place knows how to make it.We started with a couple of tapas selections including the white anchovy filets, which were outstanding, then moved onto the paella marianara. Delicious! Didn't have the crunchy socorrat but the rice was great nonetheless. Definitely worth the visit if you're near the Aria in Vegas."

  • "We've dined here before, but this time was not as good. Some of the food was excellent -- the albondigas and Spanish pizza especially. But some of the food (the chorizo and fries in the huevos estrellada) had been setting under a heating light way too long, as they were dry and hard. The waitperson was excellent -- knowledgeable and friendly, helped reseat us, and remembered us from prior visit. The greeter was not so good -- barely said a word to us, and failed to check us in."
