Diner Reviews
  • "Jubilee may be my favorite neighborhood restaurant. The service is first class, the food, delicious, the decor authentically Provence and Vivaldi's "The Seasons" make it an extraordinary and repeatable dining experience. "

  • "Everything about jubilee its Great Food always delicious Service attentive Can wait to come back"

  • "it's a lovely setting, with lots of small areas. Went for lunch and it was a the perfect place to meet and either catch up or talk business, away from the hustle bustle of midtown. The food was average as was the service friendly although I was disappointed that the server did not point the lunch specials and pre-fixe options, so I ended up with a higher bill than anticipated."

  • "Jubliee is a neighborhood always good experience. Never had a bad meal somtimes a little too busy and eating at the bar is as well a good experience"

  • "This was our first visit to Jubilee. The food and service guaranteed that it will not be our last. A perfect dining experience."

  • "But don't let that deter you. Excellent food attentive service lovely wine list."

  • "I really enjoyed this restaurant! The dinner price fixe is a really great deal- you get a glass of wine and then a choice of 2/3 from app, entree, and dessert. The price fixe is available until 6:30 pm and the only thing that was a little off putting was you had to have your order processed in their system by 6:30 pm on the button, so we were very rushed in ordering. I had the poulette les moules for dinner and the Creme Brulee au Cointreau for dessert which were both delicious! I also really enjoyed the ambiance of this place- they have fun/classy decorations and it felt really upbeat yet elegant."

  • "I have eaten both lunch and dinner at Jubilee this was our first brunch. The food is always very good and atmosphere friendly."

  • "Great Friday night dinner with friends. The mussels and fries are the best. The wine was excellent as was the service. We would definitely recommend Jubilee to our friends."

  • "Jubilee has become our 'local' and we're always pleased. Such a nice atmosphere/décor, and the food is reliably tasty. Love the monthly specials. It's one place we know we can have a reasonably quiet conversation with 4 or 6 people. It's also great for lunch. So happy to have it in the Beekman area."

  • "Great moules frites. French fries are excellent. So glad they are in my neighborhood."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Meeting friends and knowing the food is consistently excellent, with gracious service, comfortable dining room with good sound level...makes this a perfect spot in the neighborhood...but worth travelling to as well."

  • "As French bistro's go, this one is dated. Many others to choose from in NYC where the food, service and decor are far superior."

  • "If you are ever hankering for some solid French cooking with great service, but want to keep the costs in check, Jubilee really hits the mark. We happened to get there early (before 6:30) in time for the extraordinary $28 prix fixe, but even the prices off the regular menu are exceptional for Manhattan. Plus the food is real reminiscent of France. The wait staff is cordial and efficient and if you did not know better the interior looks like it could easily be in Lyon or Normandie. The wine list features both domestic and imports and has something for everyone....even the wine included in the prix fixe was good."
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "We don't go often (it's a commute) but once or twice a year we get to enjoy the mussel sampler and it is just so good! They moved to the larger avenue location but managed to keep the intimate neighborhood feel - thanks to the sweet staff."

  • "Couldn't hear across the table….terrible noise level. Really spoiled an otherwise lovely evening."

  • "Except for one person, everyone at Jubilee made us feel welcome and comfortable. So-called career waiters in this city could certainly learn something from the wonderful staff at Gramercy Tavern who make everyone feel welcome. I've had my share of fine meals, so I know when something isn't right. The waiter gave the impression that he was interviewing us based on choice of wine. He can't know that diners might really have to run home to resume work after a meal. Since we were in that situation the other night, our waiter would not have been disappointed had he simply waited for us to request the check rather than sticking it under our noses. Such an act is a clear message to vamoose. It might be OK at a diner, but not at Jubilee."

  • "NOt much going for it… since they moved! Best review is that it is in an area devoid of really good places."

  • "Went there with my husband and friends on a Tuesday evening. The place was quite busy which shows how popular the restaurant is in the neighborhood. All of us had a delightful evening. The scallops, salmon, and duck were cooked very well and quite tasty. Our waiter, Marcello, was pleasant and extremely service minded throughout the meal. The drinks, including martinis and scotch sours were nicely prepared. The hostess was wonderful, as always, and made us feel very comfortable. Ilda, and her husband the chef, own a wonderful restaurant."

  • "This was my third visit to Jubilee- 2 times with groups of ladies, 4 and 8 in the groups, and one family visit with 3 of us.Jubilee is extremely vigilant about confirming the reservation, and it is full each time- so I expect the waitlist is very active. In all three visits, the food was very good solid bistro food- mussels excellent- particularly the tasting of 3. One in our larger group party was blindsided by the exhorbitant charge for the $ 60. sole- When it says " market value", you have to ask when ordering! We stay right around the corner when in the City, so the convenience is appealing. And, for bar-centric Turtle Bay, it is a very nice surprise. Service is always accommodating and polite- all in all, a really good find."

  • "Good food but not romantic or secluded spot for special occasions as previously reviewed."
    Dined on 2/17/2014
  • "fabulous pre-fixe menu including a special cocktail list for the occasion. The kind of place where every staff member is your waiter, which is nice. décor was cute, but I hated the confetti on the table because it kept getting stuck to my cutlery. worth the price for special occasion, definitely."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The decor was lovely and the prix fixe menu was excellent. What was missing was service and attention. Our reservations were for 9PM and the tables were filled. Nevertheless the service was not up to French hospitality for a romantic Valentine's day dinner. Although the waitress came around once or so it was gratuitous and as if she was listening to our response. The bus help were invisible. What made up for the evening was the romantic decor and the food."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "It was a perfect date place for pre-Valentines dinner."
    Dined on 2/13/2014
  • "A delightful neighborhood place that will please outsiders too. The staff is warm and very accommodating The special Mussels are the signature dish. Many varieties as well as other fish and meat classics. Jubilee has moved within the Sutton Place area many times. Now it's larger, stylish and comfortable ."
    Dined on 2/11/2014
  • "Our party of three very much enjoyed the restaurant, which was recommended to us by friends. We were not disappointed. The pre-fix dinner was very much to my liking, my friends enjoyed other items on the menu. Definitely a come-back."

  • "We live in the neighborhood and I am crazy about this place. It's cheerful and pleasant with quality food. I love the steak tartar."

  • "I heard that Jubilee on 1st Avenue was having a Grammy Awards Night event so I made a reservation for a group of friends in the neighborhood. I have never had a better time watching an awards show. Specialty cocktails paired with nominated songs thanks to Yuri's genius, everyone voted for the winners for the raffle thanks to Juliana (best manager I have every seen) and fabulous food. Already planning my next night out with friends at Jubilee. This is one neighborhood gem that never let's you down, whether you are from around the corner or visiting from around the world."

  • "Enjoyed brunch from their price fixe menu. Service attentive, but not obtrusive, menu small but food quality excellent. Very good value for the price. Will definitely return."

  • "New digs (just around the corner ) but same wonderful food and not just the mussels. And consistent careful service. Not inexpensive but worth it."

  • "My husband, a friend, and I went to Jubilee Thursday night. The shrimp and striped bass were well prepared and very fresh. Marcello, our waiter, was professional and very helpful throughout the meal. . The vegetables were cooked the way my husband wanted them. We enjoyed the dining experience."

  • "Jubilee managed to keep up the cozy atmosphere and quality Bistro fare that they had in their former neighborhood place. It can get very crowded, but the quality of the fare is worth it. Keep it up!"

  • "Since moving to the new location, the food, ambiance and service have improved greatly. In addition to two large and one small dining rooms, one can always eat at the bar which is vibrant with excellent bartenders. GO, GO, GO"

  • "Had dinner at Jubilee on 1/11/14 and it was a very good meal. We enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. Ahmed, our waiter, was very good. He was accommodating and pleasant. The friendly and extremely efficient hostess gave us a lovely table. We had a nice evening out."

  • "The mussels are about the best one can have in NYC. Always enjoy the restaurant."

  • "I discovered Jubilee on 1st about a year ago. On my first visit, the restaurant was packed so my friend and I decided to eat at the bar. Best decision ever!! The staff was warm and friendly and made us feel like regulars. Lukasz made some menu recommendations and he did not steer us wrong. Since then, I have been dining at Jubilee often, have tried almost everything on the menu and explored their wine list and have never been disappointed. I bring friends and family for all occasions, big and small. Juliana, Yuri and Lukasz make everyone feel at home. More than a neighborhood gem, this is a neighborhood treasure with a great menu, warm atmosphere and a staff that is outstanding."

  • "This restaurant came recommended by a friend as the best mussels. They have various varieties and they were delicious. For NYC, the food is priced right as well. We celebrated my daughter's birthday and they brought out the dessert that we ordered decorated for her. The chocolate molten was yummy. I can't wait to go back."

  • "Jubilee is a neighborhood gem that we love to go to - both for a regular night out or for special occasions. Their mussels are to die for and the rest of the menu is equally good. Service is always friendly and prompt."
