Diner Reviews
  • "The two dishes we ordered were more than enough. We originally ordered three dishes. But, our server recognized that due to a concert we were going to attend, we were unable to take the left-overs home. She recommended two dishes, no appetizer as the portions are very large. She was right."

  • "Garlic prawns were excellent with crisp vegetables. Do not care for the cafeteria style seating..found it very noisy & loud..not a place to have a conversation. New server who was very friendly however neglected to inform us that the only iced tea they serve is sweetened raspberry which is not what I asked for. She brought it & after I tasted it I explained that is not what I asked for she simply said that's what we have & did not remove it from the bill. My only cc omplaints."

  • "Enjoyed every dish ordered. The Walnut Honey Prawns were very fresh and tasty. A restaurant to try different Asian foods like Thai, Japanese, and Chinese. There's even Kim Chi on the menu. One of my favorite restaurants at Tulalip!"

  • "It's not often you get such outstanding service in a restaurant. The only downfall was the main course arriving to early before we had time to enjoy our appetizer. So if having a starter do NOT order the main meal till you are finished. Will know next time as we enjoyed the food immensely."

  • "My date and I decided to try out the new restaurant at Tulalip before a show. Portions were bigger than expected and we both loved them. Dumpling appetizer was very tasty. Place was crowded and pretty loud, so not a quiet romantic date place, but nice ambience."

  • "Excellent food 5 stars. Environment 3 stars (tables too close together and smell of smoke from casino)."

  • "This is great find. my second time being here. This time around it was my Birthday. I scored big bowl of ice cream. Food was great and price super resonable."

  • "I thought the restaurant would be more of a dining experience but it felt like a fast food joint. It was smokey and loud. We felt rushed and the food was very Americanized."

  • "Food was a little greasy but generally pretty good. What I will rave about is the absolutely fabulous dessert. The dessert consisted of coconut tapioca pudding, mango sorbet, with fresh mango slices and topped with sweet basil leaves. It's to die for!! It was so good, we came back the next evening to get it to go!"

  • "Everything was great but we felt a little rushed. It worked awesome to book through the open table app!"

  • "Extremely noisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard to have a conversation even with the person seated next to you. The crying baby added to noise level. The restaurant was not what I had anticipated. I was seeking a quieter venue where tables were further apart. Apparently on Saturday April 26th when I was a Journey's East, Blackfish also had problems with noise as the Casino was soooooooooooooo busy."

  • "The service was very good and the food was delicious! They even brought a big bowl of ice cream for the birthday boy that we all could share."

  • "I made reservations for 7 for a 60th birthday celebration. The food was so good and Tim, our waiter, was wonderful. He explained the food to us and made good recommendations. The restaurant let us bring in our own birthday cake to eat at the end of the meal. We are all coming back to eat here again. Thank you for a wonderful time!"

  • "This was our second visit to Journeys East, and there was a noticeable improvement both in the quality of the food and the service. The extra focus on training is definitely paying off. We enjoyed our meal and plan to return again."

  • "The food was great, our server was very polite and knowledgable. The only downside was the hostess, while seating us she seemed peeved that we wanted to be seated in a lower traffic area of the resturaunt. Before she seated us, I let her know this was my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Still she wanted to put us right in the middle of the aisle. The manager tried to make up for it at the end of the meal but the moment had passed. We will eat there again, just not for a special occasion."

  • "My friend and I ordered 3 items, which was too much for us, but we wanted to sample as many as we could. They were all delicious and so wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will return!"

  • "The food was good-- not over the top. The service was excellent. Little too noisy and tables close together for our liking. Worth a try but don't except something "different or special"-"

  • "It's our 2nd time at Journeys and really enjoy it. The food is great and fresh. They will have to shake up the menu at some point. I recommend a reservation to make it easier to get in; Open Table is easy!"

  • "The restaurant's décor is sleek, with the tables close to each other. We were celebrating a birthday and ordered the siu mai, har gow, pot sticker, deep fried spring roll (yuck...the only item that would not be a repeat), hamachi, tuna roll, and fried rice. Our server was welcoming and attentive. There was a mix-up in our order, which was corrected with no problem. When our server checked in with us at the end of the meal, we thanked her for the birthday dinner. She returned a few minutes later with a (we thought) complimentary sundae (that we hadn't ordered) and the bill. The dessert charge was added to the bill...go figure. We opted not to make a fuss, but still, it made things a bit "off" and I hope this isn't standard practice."

  • "We were there for Valentine's Day. We ordered some sushi to start, and the green curry chicken for an entree. The curry came out about 2 minutes after we ordered - it came out so quickly that I wondered if another table had sent it back. The sushi came later (about 5 minutes after we sat down). The waitress hovered over our table like a vulture. She asked about desert when we had barely touched our food. It was clear they wanted the table. Our romantic Valentine's dinner lasted a total of 27 minutes. While the food was good, I wouldn't recommend Journeys East if you are looking for a leisurely dining experience. My advice = order food to go and take it home if you want a relaxing meal."

  • "after dining at Jade East, I would recommend firing the manager. I felt that I was in a bad fast food place. I so rushed and did not get time to enjoy my meal. I would never recommend this place to anyone."

  • "The food is okay. But zero atmosphere. Don't look for enjoying a romantic dinner for two. It's loud. No soft seats and table clothes. The staff seems nice, but there are almost as many people working there than seats for patrons. The quality of the food is a little above average, but the mix of Asian dishes is weird. Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese all on the menu. The problem is, you can't focus on any one country's food. Tried the Hamachi and it was pretty good (we eat a lot of Japanese cuisine and know the difference). But didn't see any other dishes of Japan to complement our meal. Overall, it's a really nice Panda Express with seating and waitresses."

  • "We had a very enjoyable experience . The only thing I would say is that if you did not eat sushi then the appetizer selection Was a little limited. I would strongly recommend vegetable spring rolls as all had pork . Other than that we would definitely way there again!"

  • "Great food and not commonly found dishes. Great services good prices....too noisy, drowns out the background music. I have only been to a couple of resturants that were this loud. Conversation is even forced. Otherwise I love the place. They need to use booths, screens or something to make it quieter."

  • "Very good food, good selection. Excellent dessert (Ginger ice cream sundae). It was unique and and unexpected. Perfect end to an enjoyable meal."

  • "I met a couple of girl friends for dinner and we all got a couple of things to share. Overall, the food was just OK. The mongolian beef and phad thai were really good, but even the waitress didn't really have any glowing recommendations. I ordered some pork buns that were gross, nice and crisp on the outside, but gummy on the inside, yuck. The spring rolls were also good as were the pot stickers, but that's not too hard. The girls ordered sushi and when talking with the waitress, while she said the quality was good, it wasn't the best sushi because of the limited availability in choices. I'm not a sushi expert so I can't speak to that. Nobody finished any dish, and there were a lot of left overs. Food was not bad, just not anything special"

  • "Restaurant is totally unorganized. We ordered two dim sum items and they specifically asked us if we would like those brought out first before our meals. We said yes and 25 minutes later we are still waiting. There seemed to be a lot of staff members all standing around confused. They brought my meal first, nothing for my husband. When we asked where the dim sum items were they all huddled together with a look of confusion on their faces. We told them to take the dim sum items off our order as my meal had already arrived. 10 minutes later they bring my husbands dinner and the dim sum which we set back. Not a very good first impression. They adjusted our bill accordingly."

  • "It was extremely loud the tables are very close to one another. the tables are very small, the four of us had difficulty with all the plates and saucers, they ended up piled on one another. they were very unsure of the sake they maintained. i asked what heat the dish i ordered was and she said it was a 3, which normally i find very spicy. i asked her if i could get it a least a 2 and she said she would put in my request. the manager came to the table and said the sauces were pre-made and could not be adjusted. he suggested another menu item, which was basically beef tips in gravy. disappointing for an asian restaurant. i would classify this restaurant as a lunch cafe not an dining restaurant."
