A word from Joseph's Restaurant
Joseph's refined style and atmosphere make it a popular spot for business lunches, as well as Downtown classic. But don't let the fancy setting fool you—behind all the elegance is an excellent and authentic Italian kitchen that churns out rustic dishes reminiscent of the old country.

Joseph's staff takes the Italian reverence for abbondanza (abundance) to heart, and won't let you walk away from your meal hungry. Pasta, chops, chicken, salad—everything on this menu bears the true taste of Italy.

The main courses at Joseph's are often accompanied by vegetables and potatoes, and there are family-style platter options available if you are ordering with a group. If "Italian food" in the Financial District conjures up thoughts of chicken parmigiana subs from a pizza place, it's time for a step into the elegance and flavor of Joseph's.

Diner Reviews
  • "Love the food at Joseph's. Both me and my girlfriend had the Vitello alla Joseph's and it was delicious. However, we respectfully asked the waiter to turn down the music and he said they couldn't. Besides that it was a great night."

  • "Ate a Joseph's two nights ago. We had four in our group and everyone agreed the food was sensational. Wine prices reasonable too. Will definitely be back to this financial district gem."

  • "Bar was a bit loud but very nice. The bartender is very nice and efficient (the blonde lady). Service was good overall, but the food was a mixed bag. Some things were good, but others were very poor quality."

  • "We had a WONDERFUL lunch at Joseph's. I was there for a business lunch and I was very happy with the ambiance. It was festive but quiet enough to have a great conversation. The staff was wonderful and the food was superb!"

  • "We enjoyed both chef specials and off-the-menu selections that were really good, combined with a really good wait-staff that were very attentive but not at all intrusive. As others have mentioned elsewhere, the Vodka Sauce is fantastic...an excellent mix of smooth creaminess and spicy bite set against a hearty pasta. If you're looking for Italian in lower Manhattan, Joseph's is a must."

  • "Surprising find in the Wall St area. Very quiet (Saturday evening). Arrived for 6:30 reservation; we were one of only 2 tables (plus 4 folks at the bar). Had to wait for the waiter (only one) to finish his own meal before he came over to tell us about specials and take our order. Next time we saw him, he had finally put his tie on. Service was slow throughout the meal (2 and a ahlf hours for 3 sourses), but it allowed time for talking and drinking. Despite the lackluster service fromt he waiter, the busboys were attentive and continually refilled water and wine glasses. The food itself was wonderful; we'll go back on a night when we are not in a hurry."

  • "Joseph's is a flight of stairs down from the street but the food, service is above many of the other Wall St area restaurants. Attentive staff, wide range of choices both on and off the menu. Works very well for business meeting discussions."

  • "Apparently this is popular lunch spot but I would not go back to try it. Wait staff bickered between serving us - some sort of power play going on. Food was below average - upi had red snapper special and it did nothing to wow me. This restaurant has a zagat rating of 23 and I have no idea why..."
