A word from Jose Muldoon's - East
We are excited to bring Jose Muldoon’s, which has been a staple of the Springs' downtown scene for over thirty years to the east side. The menu features authentic Tex-Mex style Mexican fare, the best margaritas and a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads and vegetarian entrees. We serve our famous cuisine using only the freshest ingredients, all prepared daily.

José Muldoon's, named after the legendary bandito, has been modeled with a modern southwestern look, inviting fireplaces, an indoor/outdoor dining section including a bar, HD television visible from any spot in the bar area and semi-private banquet dining. José's service staff is always friendly and efficient. We are proud to be the now more easily accessible favorite Tex-Mex destination in Colorado Springs.

  • "I'm so glad Jose Muldoon's opened a location on the east side of Colorado Springs. Although not my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant, the food is really good and the service is great. I have been here several times and will continue to dine here. 2014 Valentine's special was a great deal and my fiance and I enjoyed it very much!"

  • "We were seated quickly even though it was busy. Service was fast. One meal was not correct and it was remade quickly. Beer was a touch flat and the place really smells like fajitas so leave your coat in the car or it'll smell for a week. Still good food and friendly service though."

  • "I am allergic to onions... Normally this means Mexican food is out. However Jose's is ALWAYS willing to modify their selections so I can actually enjoy most items in the menu. It is so nice to be able to go and eat without worrying that I have to stick to chips with cheese."

  • "Food was good. The restaurant is nicely decorated."

  • "Been a steady customer for some time, but had never tried the Muldooniac Burrito. It was great! Served with both queso and Mean Green Chilli. Big portion, I had enough for lunch the next day."

  • "Our waiter was Derek and he is the best server I've ever had at this restaurant. Super efficient and friendly! Will request his section the next time we go."

  • "The low score on service is NOT regarding the waitstaff. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. The issue was with the hostess staff. Maybe the ladies at the front were new. We had a 730 reservation but after waiting almost 30 minutes and watching parties who arrived after us being seated before us, I checked back in at the hostess stand. The manager was there, located my reservation, apologized for the error and my party was seated immediately. A drink or appetizer comp would have been nice, but none was offered."

  • "I have some crazy dietary needs and they are always GREAT about accommodating me! It is really nice to know if I go there I can eat!!!"

  • "We have been struggling to find a Mexican restaurant on our side of town since our favorite one closed several years ago. My husband coming from a Mexican upbringing has a very specific way he remembers his mother making tacos. We were very excited to see you serve soft corn shells however they weren't fried soft they still satisfied him. The rest of our food was very good as well and we are happy to say we have found our new Mexican restaurant. I just wish we hadn't waited so long to try you."

  • "I really enjoyed my visit. I had a long day managing kids and ball games and just wanted to relax with friends. My table was ready, we were seated immediately, the food arrived quickly and tasted very good! This could easily become a new favorite! Prices were reasonable and atmophere was relaxing!"

  • "Went there for the 'Margarita Brunch' and had the Huevos Chilaquiles, which is a breakfast casserole full of eggs and sausage and topped off with sour cream and black olives. VERY yummy! Served with a side of roasted potatoes. They were dry and could have used some kind of cheese or sauce on them."

  • "We got bored with the Super Bowl and decided to head up to Jose's for dinner. Very few customers so we sat in the bar and our bartender was our waiter. He was great! Very fun and energetic. Food was deelish as always!"

  • "They offer a small brunch menu on Sunday but the price includes a house margarita, mimosa or sangria. This last visit I had the Downtown Omelette and it was outstanding."

  • "The food is ok, but much prefer the ambiance at the downtown location and will go there from now on"

  • "Past visits would've garnered Jose's a 3, but this one bumped it up to a 4. Hostess and servers were very friendly; staff did a great job coordinating. Our fajitas were flavorful, but the buffalo meat was very chewy; howver, it was cooked medium rare as we like it. Hearty entree portions. Sides were average and bland (my guac is way better and they use tasteless roma tomatoes), but we were allowed to substitute refried beans for black beans at no charge, though they STILL had to sprinkle cheese on top. Chips were cheap, salsa was meh, so both were below average. Prices are fair, and the atmosphere was lively. Overall, great to have a local, southwestern restaurant on this side of town."

  • "Our reservations went great. We were seated right away. It did take some time before a waitress came with chips and to take our drink order. My husband ordered the mahi mahi dish and felt like it was small for the money paid. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and it was not sizzling when it came out. It was mostly onion rather than peppers. My kids got a corn dog and grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese sandwich was grilled almost burned on one side and nothing on the other. It seems like a lot of money for a kids meal and the only drink free with the kids meal is a soda? That is odd. My kids don't drink soda. They had milk and was charged for that too. It's too expensive here for the dinner you get. Luckily we had a coupon."

  • "My wife and I went here for our 14th anniversary. I was really impressed with the staff and how fast the food was on our table after ordering. The food was great and the deep fried ice cream was to die for. I would highly recommend Jose Muldoons."

  • "Server did not ask the eldest female at the table if she wanted something to drink (ignored her, it had to be brought to servers attention)) focused on the younger individuals. Cooks seemed to be burning certain entres (the smell was bad when they were served)"

  • "As always, very enjoyable. Drinks were great and we love the green chile! Even saved room for desert. Overall great experience."

  • "Table was set an waiting for us. Service was good. Food was awesome!"

  • "I usually get the steak fajitas but decided to try the shrimp and avocado wrap. This is the first item I've ever had an item here that I didn't love. Way more lettuce than either shrimp or avocado in the wrap. I was ok with not much shrimp, but listing avocado as the second ingredient almost seemed like false advertising."

  • "Have always enjoyed the downtown location and we are thrilled to have one close to home out east. Good food, good service are a constant."

  • "Nice place but there are better options for Mexican in the area. Good value and great for free kids Sunday."

  • "Great food, good service, good use of coupons. We were seated right away even though we were waiting for more of our party to arrive (and one arrived very late). The shrimp enchiladas are yummy but I didn't get a lot of rice on the plate. Otherwise dinner was delicious."

  • "Man did I have great service at lunch on 2/21/12. Amber was attentive without being in our face, smiled and made eye contact with each person at the table every time she approached, made appropriate upsell suggestions for our table and anticipated basic needs (more chips, drink refills, etc) before we had to ask. If you already love Jose Muldoon's as I do, enhance your dining experience by asking for Amber by name. Oh yeah! I tried the bison and cheese sandwich for the first time...almost as good as the service but I still prefer the bison fajitas."

  • "The food was very good. Our server did a good job, but he seemed extremely busy. It was more like he had too much to do and couldn't keep up not that he did a bad job. He did bring everything that was asked for; it just took a bit on drink refills and beers."

  • "Love the on-line reservation feature! It didn't really matter because some friends and I met at 2:00pm Sunday afternoon on a non-football weekend. But it was a good meeting place for vegetarians and meat-lovers, health nuts and cheese-lovers. We all had something we liked. The mango margarita was fabulous!"

  • "We go there regularly as a great neighborhood restaurant. This is the first time we made a reservation and while there were many waiting we were seated immediately. A real plus to do it again. The food is always consistent and good with portions more than we can eat. It will continue on our favorites list."

  • "This wasn't our first trip to Jose Muldoons, and we knew what to expect. For the first time, I made reservations, and we were shown straight to a table, rather than waiting to be seated on a walk-in. The service was quick and the chips and salsa, as usual, were excellent. We got the queso dip, and although it was tasty, the fact that it was Velveta-based was clear. Our food was good, I had the Chimi Grande, and it was well cooked, flavorful, and the shell was crisp. My wife got the shredded beef tacos, which she also enjoyed, although it was rather greasy, softening the shell and leaving a puddle on the plate. Service was prompt, and usually attentive, and overall we had a good dinner that we enjoyed. We'll be going back again."

  • "Although still good, Jose Muldoon's isnt as good as it used to be. We used to rave about the meals there when it first opened at the location on Carefree Circle. Something is different about the mexican rice...seems alot like rice a roni. I usually order chicken enchiladas and they were just ok. Do you have a new cook? We will give it another try in the near future but may be looking for a new favorite mexican restaurant."

  • "Where else can you enjoy buffalo fajitas? The food was good and had a bit of a corporate chain feel. Our service was excellent. Our server had the bartender make me a margarita the way I prepare them at home and waited at the table when she served it to make sure it was acceptable. We would go back for sure."

  • "We were just passing through town and saw an advertisement for this restaurant in a brochure at the hotel. It was a little difficult to find but well worth it when we did. It was a nice change of pace from the usual fast food while traveling and the food was well priced as well as being very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "Jose Muldoons has been one of my local favorites for over 20 years. I had not been to the newer location at Powers and Carefree before 7/26/11 and was pleasantly surprised. The building, decoration, and ambiance are all wonderful. The servers and bartenders were friendly and helpful in leading me to a decision between the 4 or 5 meals I really wanted. I chose a newer addition to the menu, bison fajitas, and they were amazing. You really can't go wrong here, just bring 4 or 5 friends who don't mind sharing food off their plates for the best experience. The worst part of dining here is deciding which meal you want more than the others."

  • "Made reservations through open table. When we arrived we were treated like we were expected and seated immediately. The food was really good and there is a wide variety on the menu."

  • "Great food as always. The kitchen staff had our food out to us within 15 minutes of ordering. Stellar service. We will be back."

  • "The atomosphere was very nice but unfortunately we did not enjoy the food. My husband ordered the sour cream enchiladas an sent them back because he did not care for them. I ordered a chimi and it was over cooked, tough, and dry. It was also suppose to come with black beans but came with no beans at all. The manager came over and was very nice. He offered my husband a new meal and helped him select something that sounded more to his taste description. It was better but he still did not care for it much. This was our first time at this restaurant and it is really too bad the food was not better. We sat in the bar while we waited for our table. It was very nice there and we loved the open windows."
