I had the duck which was excellent, but would order the wagyu steak next time as this must be their specialty. They have a huge open grill and burn different types of wood for the steaks. The grilling process produces some dramatic flare ups. Impressive wine list as well."

  • "We dined at Jory for Sunday Brunch and very much enjoyed our meal. We were there at 12:30 and sat on the patio. On this beautiful day and at this time of the day, we were the only ones seated on the patio so, it was relaxing and very pleasant. The service, as always, was very professional and efficient. It almost feels a bit too elegant for the location and for brunch but I'd rather it be this way than off handed and sloppy. We had a salad to share between the 3 of us (I don't recall the actual ingredients of the salad and it's not listed on the oline menu), we also tried the paella, one of the hash dishes and the lemon pancakes served with fresh blueberries. All of the food was wonderfuly prepared and full of flavor."

  • "I had the pork loin. It was a little dry (slightly overlooked) and was drowning in a corn mash. I had to search thru the mash to find the sunken slices of pork. My wife had the lamb chop. So rare she couldn't eat it when getting close to the bone. When paying premium prices, we expect a premium product. "

  • "Simple salads to start turned exceptional with local ingredients matched well. My main was halibut with over a grain base with fiddle heads and other local vegs cooked crispy but not raw. Lovely. Partner had rabbit with risotto and was thrilled. All accompanied with a Pinot recommended by Mark to finish it off. Small neg- halibut was slightly overdone, just beyond flakey. This is a restaurant for those who enjoy trying standard raw materials prepared in an exquisite way. "

  • "I have been to the Allison numerous times. Every time is a 5 star experience except for this one???? Our server was great but her help was unfriendly, and made a lot of mistakes which no one cares but they acted as if their mistakes were our fault? Bizarre! We had to order 4 bottles of wine before one was available and asked 3 times for gluten free bread and I didn't get it until almost the end of the meal and it was horrible. Close to burnt and just bad. We were in the private dining room so that was beautiful. But many of us have been there a lot and all felt like this time was just "off". Not sure what happened. I/we will still go back, this was just a strange experience."

Pea soup flavor speaks for itself - perhaps a little pop of seasoning - mint? but it s overwhelmed with the crab and not well seasoned. Too much attention to corporate and not individuals - such excellent and polished service deserves to be backed up with happy diners. Smiles are always good and welcomed, there was no engagement with the staff."

Service is brigade-style so everyone at the table receives their courses at exactly the same time, which I love. Meal is complete with Amuse Bouche starter, pallet cleansers between courses, mini-dessert with the check - everything you'd expect in a four-star dining experience. Jory reminded us of the best locales in Manhattan or Frisco. If you're in Oregon wine country and looking for a wonderful dining experience, this is it. Local wine list is, of course, fantastic as well, and reasonably priced for the quality-level."

My only concern...I hope that someone is drinking all of that "Congrats" wine in the restaurant that is on display. It would kill me to think that all that great wine would go to waste."

  • "This place has everything. Great food, service, and it is simply beautiful. I love staying at the Allison which means I get to visit jory more. On this visit, we just were there for dinner. We started in the lounge by the huge, roaring fire with a glass of wine. Then moved to the restaurant. Both spots were comfortable. We had a great visit and can't wait until we can return."

  • "Our family had heard about Jory and decided to check it out one morning for breakfast. The location and view are beautiful. The service is amazing, but, the food was not worth the price. $17 for pancakes....$19 for a scrambler....neither of which were anything to write home about. We dine out a lot, and I can honestly say the food here was just as good at the $10 plates at Marco's, Gravy, Jam, Screen Door or Tasty n Sons. For the price, I expected a higher level of food, however, this was not the case. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, just not $17-$20 for a breakfast plate delicious. I would maybe come back to see how their dinner plates are, but with so many closer options, probably not."

The desserts were wonderful. Service was fine. Not too much fussing. The setting inside was ok but not spectacular. The evening seating might be better. Heat the food and I would rate it as an excellent restaurant."

  • "This was one of our best dining experiences. Every course was seasoned correctly and the service was excellent. We were skeptical Eating in a hotel but this was different. We split a salad and each had a dinner. I had the pork and my husband the salmon. The wood fired entrees hit the spot on a cool fall night. The vegetables and starches that came with the meal were exceptional as well. I asked the waiter about them and he was knowledgable about the preparation.The dessert ( butterscotch boudin) was the perfect ending to a great meal."
