The food was great, we went to a play at the playhouse after and were able to park there before and walk. Very convenient. Service was a little slow, not the food coming but the waitress didn't check on us very often or offer more wine in a timely manner. Some sort of manager came around and cleared plates which was nice but the waitress was not very attentive.

We had a wonderful meal. I had the eggplant casserole and it was excellent. Two of my companions ordered salmon were equally impressed. We especially enjoyed the little soup cups as an appetizer. Our waiter was Vuk and he was great. He accommodated all our special requests and was very personable. I will be back again in two weeks with other friends and I'm sure they will enjoy it just as much.

The food was very good. The Volcanic shrimp appetizer was a nice twist on standard coconut fried shrimp. Both entrees were served hot and they were described in the menu. The quality of the ingredients and taste were very good. We sat near a large group so they were a bit noisy but it didn't ruin the meal. Our server was efficient, but not very friendly. They had entertainment in the bar when we stopped in for an after dinner drink. The bar a very relaxing vibe, but the bar tender was not very attentive, but again for our purpose it was just fine.

First trip to Jonathan's was a mixed bag. We liked the ambience, live music, and the food was expertly prepared. On the other hand, noise level was high and our service was terrible! We had two servers assigned to our table and neither one of them attended to our needs. Waited too long to take orders, didn't bring bread until we asked, forget drink order - all this when it wasn't very busy.

We were a bit disappointed. In the past we had some fabulous meals there. It wasn't terrible, but we did feel that it wasn't really worth the price of the check, and we ordered moderate priced items. It was immediately after a performance at The Ogunquit Playhouse and maybe the rush of guests all at once was more than they could handle. The wait staff was very congenial , but not as effecient as they could have been. We will try it again , but probably not in the near future.

Jonathan's is really meant for the 50+ crowd looking for fairly boring run of the mill type seafood dishes or steak. Extremely overpriced for portions (4 medium-sized shrimp for $10.50) and nothing on the menu sounds particularly interesting. The service is good and what they do offer is prepared well, but this is not a place for foodies, especially when there are much better restaurants in Ogunquit.

Sorry, Jonathan's. The order got a bit mixed up and my wife's steak came to the table about 15 minutes later. Dishes were uninspiring and the cut of the Rib Eye steak was pitiful. I wouldn't serve that cut to a guest. Maine Seafood Pasta was good, but overall not enough to make me come back for. The young lady that served us and was from Eastern Europe was charming, interesting and knew her menu well. She was also able to upsell the order. Good for her. With so many really good places to eat in Ogunquit, the only reason to go to Jonathan's is if there is an act that you must see.

My husband and I went to Johnathan's for dinner because it was next to the hotel we were staying at in Ogunquit. The atmosphere is nice, lots of windows to view the greenery outside. The service was very good, very professional and fast. The food was very good with unique combination dishes and well priced for the area. I would consider us "foodies" and "wino's". The wine list's selection was in abundance and, again, well priced for the area. We will definitely return to Johnathan's on our next trip to Ogunquit.

Overall a very bad experience. When we arrived it seemed like they couldn't find our reservation for 7:30. We were then seated and had to wait a while to order drinks. We waited about 1/2 hour for the drinks to arrive and then ordered our meals. By 9:45 we had just had salad. At that point a manager came over to say they would "rush" our meals. We waited a few more minutes and then just walked out. No one even stopped us to ask the problem as we were leaving. The other issue was the loud "music" playing in the background. I spend every weekend in Ogunquit and haven't been to Jonathan's in a year. It has always been great but won't return.

I bought tickets to see the Melissa Ferrick show and the receipt I received stated 9:00pm and that I should plan to arrive for dinner 2 hours early. The earliest reservation from concert time was 7:15pm, so I booked it. When I arrived, I was informed that the show started at 8:00pm which ruined the fact that I bought premier tickets for the $50 credit towards dinner. Not only was there not time for a full meal, but I had traveled an hour and 45 minutes to get there and we were starving! We had time for a salad and soup and the concert started promptly at 8pm. Had I not gotten there for at least the small bite we got, we would have missed the show. I still have the receipt which shows 9:00pm. I was looking forward to the romantic evening.

Enjoyed our experience at Jonathan's. Shared a meal which was delicious, and too large to finish. Well priced for the quality and quantity. We requested a table by the windows, there are many, overlooking a garden area which was lovely, even for late summer. The hostess was professional but not welcoming. I-pad ordering feels impersonal. Servers hurried away before we could ask for another beverage, took my salad without asking if I was finished, seemed distracted and did not smile. On the flip side, our meal was served smoothly and efficiently, was delicious, and there was no delay between courses, no server errors. Very nice but staff should be both efficient AND welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Still a repeat place. Will go again

We had a party of 10 for a special occasion birthday celebration on Saturday night. We thought the food was excellent and the service was great. Everyone in our party was happy with their dinner choice and the appetizers were delicious. The calamari was perfect. As for dessert, the selections were varied. I had the banana in filo and it was outstanding. We would definately return for dinner and recommend Jonathan's to our friends. We also enjoyed the jazz musicians playing during dinner.

Really, really enjoyed the poached lobster and stuffed haddock. Probably the best lobster I had during my entire trip to Ogunquit. I had read mixed reviews on service, but though the service was excellent. The decor/ambiance wasn't as fancy/romantic as I'd thought given the prices, but a very nice experience, nonetheless and great for before the show at the playhouse.

This restaurant is attached to the Meadowmere Hotel. We only ate there because we were tired from traveling and we were pleasantly surprised. We both started with a farm driven salad that had a clean fresh taste. I had Haddock stuffed with scallops in a wonderful tasting sauce. This was plated with mashed potatoes & veggies. My husband ordered twin lobsters ($23.95!!) and they were delicious. Dessert we shared a banana cream tart in phylo dough. The service was friendly & efficient with white table cloths. I would definitely recommend Jonathan's.

This restaurant can please all kind of customers, couples looking for a romantic place, small and large families, and for a friends reunion. The food was excellent ( the lobster special is a must!) and the service has well. The only comment I can make is about the decor which is a bit of everything and the tropical fish tank which is out of place for such a restaurant. We will go back during our next trip to Ogunquit.

Celebrated 10th anniversary at Jonathan's. It was the perfect late supper location on a Saturday in peak season. Outstanding service! The wait staff indulged our every inquiry about the menu. The bouche amuser of zuchinni and kale was a refreshing start. The lobster bisque had classic clean flavor of a New England recipe. Simple yet flavorful. The stuffed mushroom were delightful. Seafood was exceptional. The Maine Gulf scallops were juicy. The baked stuffed haddock lived up to its house special reputation, full of fresh seafood flavors. Never rushed through any part of the meal, we enjoyed traditional tiramisu and house made coffee cinnamon ice cream. This is fine New England coastal dining at its best!

We went back to Jonathan's (our first of many vists since 1975). (we live near-by) the food and service was top notch. (we understand Jonathan was in the kitchen the night we were there). We stayed for the show with Tom Rush who we have been a fan of since the 60's! The only downside, is the noise level. It was sometimes dificult to have normal diner converstaion as the music from the bar area was pretty loud. Overall, go. it is a wonderful Ogumquit tradition.

The food was delicious, however the fish chowder was not hot enough and we should have sent it back, but we did not. It was delicious even though not hot. the only issue we do have is that the coffee was served in a cup that had a red lipstick mouth on it. it was not a small spot it was the entire LIP on the inside and outside of the cup. It was taken care of when they were notified and the manager that evening did apologize, but that should never happen in an upscale restaurant.
