Diner Reviews
  • "We just arrived in Lafayette late Wednesday evening and were looking for a nice place to experience the Lafayette ambiance with my wife. I had been working down here for some months and the program was winding up and I took her along down for the finish of the program. Jolie's was very close to the hotel (Lafayette Airport Homewood Suites) and the web page looked as if Jolie's Bistro was exactly the kind of place we were wanting. We were not disapointed at all. The staff was friendly. The service, even though we were the last customers for the evening, was impecable. The food was very good and was well explained by the wait staff. My wife loved it and I'm glad we picked it. I'll certainly go there again next Lafayette visit."

  • "It was such a joy to have such an amazing restaurant to celebrate a farewell for a co worker. The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere outstanding. I am looking forward to enjoying more dining opportunities at Jolie's in the future."

  • "First time dining at Jolie's for lunch. The atmosphere was incredible especially with the numerous George Rodrigue "Blue Dog" paintings. In addition, the food and presentation was impeccable! I would highly recommend Jolie's!"

  • "The food was exceptional. The use of spices and herbs was perfection. The chef knows how to enhance the flavors of the local meats/produce. Our server was attentive and responded to our individualized requests. Their menu represented the diversity of the chef. Just a fantastic place to dine."

  • "Jolie's was great for Sunday brunch. Bloody Mary's were great and the menu selection was interesting and inviting. We had the Crab eggs benedict and the cioppino. Both were excellent."

  • "The food was exceptional and the service very attentive. We were a party of 3; for appetizers, we split the turtle soup, crab cakes, and fried green tomatoes caprese. My daughter and I each had the 8 oz. filet (we like ours rare) and they were exceptional. Better than Ruth's Chris and it's hard to top that. My son-in-law had the yellowfin tuna; he said it's one of the best he's ever had. Pound cake and creme' brulee topped off our meal. It's pricey, but the food experience is well worth it. You can tell the care with which they prepare food and it's fresh! Will definitely be back."

  • "Beignets brought to the table upon arrival. The Cioppino Stew was one of the best things I've ever had. Other dishes tried were definitely good, but less stellar...regret not ordering the hog's head cheese corn dogs, not sure what I was thinking that was the reason I went. The Bar seemed like a nice place to sit and have a drink and discuss with a knowledgeable bartender and the dining area was very nice without being uncomfortably upscale."

  • "Great tables. Great setting. Very poor service. Food is good - nothing outstanding. Very limited wine list. Too pricey for the experience offered. Service staff is not experienced enough for what is trying to be done."

  • "As usual, our dining experience was wonderful. Dorita, our server, was great, as was the food and drink."

  • "We love jolies and the food is amazing every time. This time we had a new server, or waitress who was not particularly friendly, took a little longer to greet us, and didn't explain dishes. We Still had a great dinner and will be back many times !"

  • "I was very pleased with my choice of Jolie's for brunch/lunch celebrating my son's graduation. Nice atmosphere, great menu, good service. One of the very few nice restaurants open for Saturday lunch in Lafayette. "

  • "Not a bad place. Lots of fried food, if you like that thing. Typical Cajun cuisine."

  • "Over the past 4-5 years, we have been to Jolie's once or twice every year and have always had fine food and excellent service. We shared some duck fat fingerling potatoes, as a side for an appetizer, and they were amazing, split a Jolie Bleu salad with just enough bits of bacon and bleu cheese to be special, then I had the cioppino, which is consistently the best I have had anywhere, with shrimp and scallops and fish, served with a rouille on the side that really elevates the dish. My wife had the very lightly fried flounder that was perfectly prepared with a lemon almost-Hollandaise except with hard boiled egg whites instead of yokes. It too was imaginative and very, very good. We had a reasonably priced Pinot Noir. Tyler served us well. "

  • "A great place for fresh, in-season local food. Menu changes by the seasons. The appetizers are a MUST - you could actually make a meal of them with a soup/or salad. Local cuisne with the chef's personal touch. Very creative."

  • "Wait staff was great. My tuna was a little undercooked but it was likely my fault since I asked for it medium rare. Even though I didn't ask for it to be taken off the bill, our server took indicative to remove it. The rest of our food was amazing. I highly recommend the brownie for dessert. It is one of the best brownies I have eaten. "

  • "We are well travelled, were totally elated to find foie gras!!!!!! Excellent, excellent!!! Anniversary trip to area, all food well prepared, wine selection left up to waitress...excellent choices!! Will return when in area again."

  • "Service was slow. The waitress got the order wrong for appetuzers, salads and main course. It was like she was not even listening. Never came to table to check on us, we had to ask other servers to get her. It was not that busy for her to be so slow or mess up orders. If we ever went back, I would make sure we did not have the same waitress."

  • "We have been meaning to eat at Jolie's since we moved here last July, we have tried many of the lovely restaurants Lafayette have to offer and just as we suspected this one does not disappoint! The menu was filled with many delicious choices, which made it difficult to choose, which isn't a bad thing! The food came in good time, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. The Steak and Egg was oh so good! We can't wait to return and taste the other menu dishes."

  • "In NOLA for a convention and drove to Lafayette to visit the Rodrigue gallery. Dinner at Jolie's was superb! Nancy was an excellent server! Food and wine were perfect and unique, especially the bacon-wrapped-ricotta-stuffed dates, gnocchi, filet, and pompano special...and crème brulee for dessert. Also enjoyed the George Rodrigue art...everywhere we looked!"

  • "I dine at Jolie's two or more times a month and found in the last few weeks the food has been even better. I am told there is a new chef and she has outshined the previous chef. I have noted a couple of things changed but not necessarily for the better. The crab cakes are great but noted the overabundance of greenery and less crabmeat overall. Nice to have the bone marrow cut length wise...smart move. One comment regarding the service, service is not consistant. Bread and butter should be brought automatically and not requested. The waiters also need to be well versed in the menu. Not sure is not an answer. Service is stronger the busier the restaurant is..... Friendly staff."

  • "This place is very nice. It is very clean. The hostess and waitress we had were both very welcoming and the food was excellent! The oysters although did not come raw on a half shell and cooked only were delicious as well as the Prince Edward mussels. This place has 5 star service and food! I would definitely recommend it to my friends."

  • "The parking lot was completely empty at 11 am on a Sunday. Unheard of in Lafayette. The restaurant we usually go to has at least an hour wait and most restaurants that serve brunch don't take reservations at all. We chose Jolie's because we thought it might be quieter and it was my mom's 75th birthday. We had four brunch entrees, shrimp and grits, egg frittata, scallops and eggs and crab benedict. All under seasoned and overcooked. We didn't drink and for four people, three small ladies and a man, the bill was 140.00 before tip. I don't blink at spending that at brunch for just my husband and I, but I was embarrassed at the poor quality of food and so disappointed that I had chosen Jolie's to celebrate such a special day."

  • "First time to visit the restaurant: found it beautiful, relaxing and romantic. Each course was on par with the ambiance. Was recommended by friends over another, newer restaurant which is currently more en vogue. It did not disappoint."

  • "I've eaten here several times now and it's always fantastic. Seriously, everything on the menu tastes amazing. I went with groups of friends a couple times and we just shared all the entrees and they were all great. You have to try the tuna steak at least once, it's the best (in my opinion) but no matter what you won't be disappointed."
