Food and wineWe went to Jole on the last night of our honeymoon, we were staying in the hotel in which it's located. We had the four course tasting with wine pairings and it was great. We got to choose which plates we wanted to have which was a nice change from the typical "unknown" tasting selection. Being from DC we're used to pretty great food and this was right up there with some if our best meals. Side note: while delicious, the pork shoulder was really heavy on the pepper, a little too much so.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! Would highly recommendGreat food! Would highly recommend while in this area.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMStunning from start to finishWe could not have had a better experience at Jole. The food was sublime - delishious, creative, so fresh. The service was exquisite - including perfect wine pairings. This was by far one of our top dining experiences.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food and great wineVery good food and great wine parings. Fun for a date because you can share a lot of different food.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSpring dinner at JoLeMy wife and I like to share our meals. It's fun, romantic and allows us to really get into the food were eating. JoLe was a perfect place for us to enjoy, explore and eat. Each dish had the right amount of flare and sauces to offset, compliment and highlight the flavor of the main ingredient. We chose to Kompachi with uni and olive tapenade, Snapper with chilled mussels and the sweetbreads and some veggies to share. All terrific.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat A Find!Enjoyed a fabulous dinner with my sister and niece at Jole last weekend. Great food, wonderful waiter and staff. The waiter made great recommendations and did not rush us. Jole has a very relaxed but hip atmosphere with wonderful background music. The deserts were heavenly can't wait to return.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWaliking distance from IndianWaliking distance from Indian Springs. It was better than we expected.4 course dinner starts from only $50 and $80 with wine paring. We would go there again when we stay at Indian Springs.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding...againWe had bid on, and secured, a $100 voucher through a local service club crab feed. It cost us a little more but we knew it would be well worth it. We've been to JoLe several times and have never been disappointed. The food and presentation there is excellent and it is a real food adventure.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWho needs Cyrus when we have JoLe?What an amazing discovery! JoLe is easily a Top Ten place in the US (and yes, I include NYC, LA, and Vegas).4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food I've ever had, grilledBest food I've ever had, grilled octopus was amazing.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSomething new and creativelySomething new and creatively different every time...presentation is great.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI really should have taken notesWe did 5 course tasting menu with paired wines. Fantastic ability at pairing wine with your dish. Paced nine & slow to enjoy wine, & food.
You really have to spread out 5 glasses of wine. As a couple, we each picked 5 items & their paired wine, so tasted 10 different wonderful flavors.
Really is an exciting way to experience new & interesting wines& food. Bacon wrapped veal sweet bread or Rabbit Loin or grilled Quail or grilled Octopus, several bits & sips of each to prepair the diner for dinner. Each matched with wine to accent smooth round of finish. aroma of the dish when it hits the table, nose the wine, small sip. Silverware the dish to prepair the fork with each ingredient for a mouthful. Savor the food, chew lightly. Enjoy.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, portions too smallFood was great, but the portions are very small. I don't like paying those prices and being hungry afterward!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMCalistoga artfully prepared food.JoLe was simply wonderful. The food was artfully prepared as we dine thru a set of four individual sized dishes. We tasted many lovely items. Highly recommend the steak and the coconut cream pie. The service was excellent as well, guided thru a incredibly thoughtful menu and timed just right.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Gem in Calistoga!Creative chef uses the best, local, fresh ingredients. As vegetarians, we are thrilled to be treated respectfully and to be given great options...on or off menu! Great, great small plate choices!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSix courses, Five stars....My wife and I did the six course tasting menu with wine pairing. They allowed us to pick the six courses and we even picked different ones between us, no problem! They were also flexible on the wine pairings, they brought out a chardonnay, a varietal neither of us care for in the States, and they were more than happy to provide a very good substitution. The food was excellent, perfectly executed, and that was only matched by the service which was outstanding. Our server, Jamie?, was phenomenal, and all of the staff really took pride in their restaurant. We will definitely go back again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was outstandingThe service was outstanding and food was very good. The service was attentive and the recommendations of the waiter were spot-on. Really a nice find in this little cozy town!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic dishes. Great creativityFantastic dishes. Great creativity without being over the top.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo JoshWe had reservations for 5:45PM, we arrived on time and were seated immediately.
Received H2o but were then left unattended for about fifteen minutes. I had brought a bottle of wine and it was clearly on the table. We could see staff moving about, passing us by but none came to us. I finally got up and went to the bar to get the wine opened and poured, at which time we received immediate attention. Josh was our waiter and the manner in which he conducted himself made the wrong right. I later found out He did not start until 6:00, he had great suggestions and made the five course tasting a success. Only one plate was a disapointment and he quickly removed it from the table, rest were fab. Disapointed in the pastries.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWow what a great place! TheWow what a great place! The food here is fantastic and the staff are excellent too, very helpful and knowledgeable. We ate at JoLe to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff made our experience extra special. Our server, James, helped us decide on the tasting menu with the paired wine menu and it turned out to be an excellent choice. We sampled so many delicious dishes and the wine was paired perfectly. Thank you so much!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery impressive service and food. The small plate tasting menu was superb. The dishes were each artfully displayed with unique, colorful and delicious bites. Heirloom carrot Salad, Burmese Red Chili Octopus, Striped Sea Bass and Roasted Quail were my choices. Often small plates are larger than they should be with sauces that over power the dishes. The kitchen was a bit backed up, but their customer service minded wait staff provided an explaination and a complimentary refill on our wine as we waited. Good value for a very memerable experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't wait to come back!I can't wait to come back! The dinner and wine was fantastic, but make sure to save room for dessert. The coconut cream pie is worth it!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the small platesReally enjoyed the small plates and sharing. There are some tables where the air conditioning is quite concentrated and uncomfortable.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAdventure in Fine DiningThe 19 year old chef is AMAZING!!! We were there twice in one week and both meals were off the chart for taste, variety and presentation--and we are Pescatarian!!
