We ate outside - near the front door on the small patio. Weather was perfect and only one other group was out there - only drinking to go coffees. Our server was excellent and we had very good service event though we could have been left in Siberia as if often the case when you are the only outdoor diners. Tempura shrimp appetizer is crunchy, sweet and spicy with the little red pepper slices. Great dish and very light. Tuscan chicken was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, a buerre blanc sauce underneath and toasted hunks of bead to sop up the sauce. Green beans were coated with a thin layer of butter. Tomato onion salad was fresh with a tart balsamic vinaigrette. Blue and bacon burger with parmesan garlic fries was very tasty.

This was the first time I've been disappointed by Jolane's. Four of us came for lunch and the two that ordered sandwiches had very ample servings which were very tasty. Two of us ordered the ahi poke which was listed under salads. It should have been listed as an appetizer. When the found was served, my friend jokingly commented who ate the rest of my lunch? While it was tasty, it was not a lunch portion by any measure. The Mozart Tort for dessert was to die for, however

Overall a very good experience. The only negative was that 3 of the 4 of us ordered fish, and the fish was somewhat overcooked and therefore dry - particularly the cedar planked whitefish and salmon. Beyond that, everything was excellent (the third person had the Branzino - a bit dry, but not as bad). Our fourth person had pork schnitzel, and said it was excellent. Service was outstanding - kudos to Azi, and to the managers that came by several times.

This was my first time at Jolane's. My wife comes here very frequently for lunch and loves it. We sat in the atrium area, which was beautiful, but very noisy, despite it not even being full. We had the calamari for appetizer, which was very good and the Ahi poke, which was ok, a little bland. For dinner I had a burger, ordered medium, but it was well done and a little dry. Did not send back, because we were out with friends. When salad arrived, asked for black pepper, which never came. When dinner arrived, my wife asked for wine list, which they brought immediately, but then our waiter disappeared and by the time he came to take the order, she and our friend were done eating. So, not a good night, hopefully, just a fluke.

We don't eat much meat, and were looking for a place to meet friends from Lincolnshire (we live in Evanston) - this was a good location, and the food was wonderful, though I wish they'd said on the menu that the pear and arugula salad had cheese on it - I can't eat dairy products. All four of us had fish, planked white fish, scallops and a strange fish we didn't recognize, which was delicious. Service was attentive, perhaps overly so - waitress kept interrupting our conversation to see if we wanted anything. Will definitely go back. Interior was lovely, and atrium looked very nice as well. All the food seemed freshly prepared, and the fish was cooked perfectly. An excellent, simply prepared dinner.

I have been to Jolanes multiple times and it is always terrific. WOnderful service, delicious food and a nice little bakery area at the front in case you want to bring home a treat. I love the décor with the dark leather and granite inside and the sunny atmosphere on the patio is also wonderful. In addition to their main dishes, I love their flatbreads and even when their dinner flatbread or appetizer is nortt on the menu, the chef has always been happy to make one if requested. I like that they are good at a simle lunch salad or sandwich, crisp sweet potato fries and the like, but also do a lovely job with dinner - steak or other lighter fare.

Jolane's is one of my husband's and my favorite restaurants for lunch and/or dinner. Their varied menu is delicious and service is very good. They have a lovely wine list if you are a wine lover and their desserts are scrumptious, including the wonderfully creamy Homer's ice cream! The ambience is relaxed, with energy and not too loud if you sit in the main room. The patio is lovely, but could get a little louder as the room fills up. Jolane's is definitely a place to try if you haven't!

A group of eight went for dinner following a baseball game at the park right next door. When we arrived, ~8:15, the place was basically empty, yet it took nearly two hours to finish our meal. Not only were they out of the first wine we ordered and one of the entrees ordered, but it took nearly 20 minutes to inform us, on two separate occasions, that we would need to change our order. This was after the waiter came by to take our order a second time because he threw away the original scribble. All we could tell us was that "we're trying to do better here". Really? The manager did come by and apologize for the experience and deduct 20% from our bill. Nice gesture, but we won't be back.

Three of us shared a bottle of wine, celebrating a birthday that evening. We all had fish and it was delicious. Choices for sides were great. We shared a dessert as we were all too full for more. We have had great service before but that night our server was not very attentive and very hard to find, as well as messing up our bill. We waited up front for her but she was talking with friends in the kitchen. A manager spotted us and she took care of the bill.

We've eaten twice now at Jolanes, and have really enjoyed our meals. We are a gluten-free family (not by choice, by necessity), and they have an excellent and varied selection on their gluten-free menu. The hamburger with blue cheese is awsome (no bun). Located in a strip of high end shops, this restaurant features excellent food at reasonable prices. The Branzino is outstanding, moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked. Lamb chops were delicious, great flavor. Meals come w soup or salad and the entree is served w a starch and vegetable. Desserts great. My only complaint would be that it is too bright. The interior is lovely with gorgeous wainscoting and should have soft lighting but it's lit up like a Denny's. Otherwise loved it, a new favorite!

We had a 7:15 pm reservation and when we arrived the parking lot and restaurant were full so we were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed popovers with strawberry butter with our cocktails. We both ordered the bacon wrapped scallops served with spinach. The scallops were perfect, the spinach was wonderful. Our dinner included a choice of side salad, i.e., house, wedge, ceasar or walnut blue cheese...we chose the wedge salad and it, too, was delicious. As for ambience, the lighting is a little bright, but all in all quite pleasant. We really enjoyed the evening and we plan to return.

Enjoyed our meal. I had the Planked Salmon. The rest of our party had various dishes. All of us commented that the food and service was excellent. My only criticism was that our table was in the annex portion of the restaurant and it was quite chilly and just a little bit uncomfortable. Either the walls should be better insulated or portable heaters should be installed. This distracted from what was at least a 4 star meal in all other aspects.

We came across this restaurant by chance as it is located off the beaten path and in a place where least expected. Yet, thanks to Open Table we stopped. Fantastic surprise! It resembles a German/Autrian traditional restaurant (not the tourist destinations). The service was pristine and the food was fantastic. While it is far from where we live, we are definitely going back.
