JoJoA classicJoJo is a nice break from the trendy, faddy restaurants throughout the rest of the city when you're looking simply for a nice, delicious meal. The decor is nice and understated, while the food is outstanding - best salmon I've ever had. Definitely recommended for a nice night out.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMdelicious food, great service, delicious food, great service, intimate setting. server make terrific suggestions, which we loved. overall a wonderful evening.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMfun ladies lunchperfect spot for a special lunch and very convenient after visiting the Kips Bay Designer Show House.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spring menuFood was superb, and we especially enjoyed the spring menu - lobster with lemon risotto was just outstanding. A lovely setting for a quiet Sunday evening with absolutely wonderful food. We'd go again and again if we lived in New York6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunchAwesome brunch with larger group of friends. Great drinks and excellent service.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely dinnerWonderful food, attentive and kind wait staff, charming. A relative recommended JoJo's saying that it is always a wonderful experience and a favorite.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMÉ um dos melhores restaurantesÉ um dos melhores restaurantes da cidade com um generoso preço fixo de 25 dólares.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA very special dinnerMy husband and i went for our Anniversary while visiting New York. It was recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was outstanding....every course!!! We both ordered the Fixed Prix and loved every single course. Delicious, fresh, inventive dishes with a twist. Every course excellent and not over done. If you prefer more simply prepared dishes they also had that available on the menu. Definitely recommend!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMTRES BEAUI've dined here several times and the food, service and ambience are excellent. I usually go for the prix fix lunch at $32 which is well worth it. The salmon is terrific and the molten chocolate cake and ice cream, well, you won't want to leave.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely French RestaurantThe food was divine, service outstanding and the ambiance fabulous. This was my second visit to Jo Jo and it has become one of my favorite restaurants. I chose Jo Jo on this visit to New York for i had my nine-year old grandson with me who speaks fluent French and I wanted a French restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEast Side GemJoJo is and has been good since it opened many years ago. The food is interesting, but not overly clever, and expertly prepared and presented. The food came a bit too quickly, given that we wanted to relax and talk, however we were left alone and allowed to do so with coffee and dessert. We had a lovely evening, a delicious dinner and the ability to relax and enjoy each other. I would go back at the drop of a hat.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMsolid but uninspiredIt's still hard to beat the lunch menu at $28, but it's somewhat uninspired. The ravioli are good. The slow-cooked salmon is in a too-heavy truffled sauce, which looks about as appetizing as mud. The banana cake is somewhat dry. The tables by the window upstairs are the nicest and quietest but the chairs are exceptionally uncomfortable. If it weren't in the neighborhood I wouldn't bother going.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food and great value.Spring tasting menu was superb. Four courses and large portions. Delicious.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the prix-fixe brunchWe had the prix-fixe brunch on our anniversary. Appetizers and desserts were outstanding, but we were disappointed in the entrée selections (almost all fish) and the food itself. Brunch should have some breakfast selections, otherwise call it lunch. The cod was bland, and the organic burger was just ok, which came on a fast food quality roll. The place is very pretty, but there was a wedding upstairs and the parade of wait staff back and forth through the restaurant was very annoying.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBreathtaking experience!Fabulous experience! Lunch was absolutely delicious! Spectacular presentation. Superb service and ambience! Highly recommend. This restaurant is a gem!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne minute rule.Took forever to be offered a cocktail when first seated. Why do restauurants not realize that if you are greeted at the table promptly and offered a cocktail or a glass of wine, delivered quickly, that most of us are happy to relax and chat for some time. That is the point of dining out, the whole relaxing experience is not just eating and rushing out the door. I owned a fine dining restaurant and instituted a one minute rule.
Jojo was terrific.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a lovely restaurant.DelicioThis is a lovely restaurant.Delicious, imaginative menu served by efficient and friendly waitstaff.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThanks for the nice time weThanks for the nice time we shared there.
You are absolutely part of it !!!
Lana5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial PlaceWe went on one of the busiest days of the year (Mother's Day) and even though the kitchen was clearly stressed we had a great family dinner. This is a five star restaurant on a regular day when you don't have to wait 45 minutes between courses. Our server was wonderful and the food was first rate. We had to leave before dessert but she made sure my wife tasted a special merengue encapsulated sorbet (she is still taking about it). We have put JoJo on our list of best restaurants.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMuito bom!!!!Fui com minha esposa e a comida estava ótima e atendimento muito bom num ambiente aconchegante. Recomendo tranquilamente.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWe have been to several other Restaurants by this owner J G and decided to try Jo Jo. The food was outstanding. The decor is in bistro mode.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary Dinner at JoJoMy wife and I chose JoJo because of its setting and the fact that it is a Jean-Georges restaurant. Everything was wonderful. Although slightly cramped at the entrance the restaurant is cozy and noise levels very low. The food was excellent and the service was observant and efficient, but never intrusive.
A wonderful night all around.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great serviceMy wife and I celebrated our anniversary here last Saturday night and we were looking for great food in a relaxed but elegant atmosphere, and we were not disappointed at JoJos. The service was highly professional and anxious to meet our needs. The food was a cut above: I had a black bass in a citrus sauce with lemon butter that was outstanding. They were able to easily accomodate my requests for gluten-free dining. Yes: the meal was expensive, but was worth the splurge for a fun and relaxed evening for foodies.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will return to try moreWe will return to try more dishes. Desert was great5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe server spoke too fast,The server spoke too fast, which affected her enunciation, which was poor. The service was not as attentive as one would hope, not that I would want it to be hovering either. The octopus appetizer was delicious. The lamb chops tasted fine but were not properly prepared--too much fat and grizzle were left on each chop. One of my dinner companions had to send her chops back as she couldn't cut through a very hard piece of grizzle, which points to sloppiness on the part of the chef. The desserts--passion pavlova(sp?) and chocolate cake--were delicious.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMReally superb dinner. HaveReally superb dinner. Have not been to JoJo's for quite some time and I have really missed their great food. Service and ambiance were terrific. Food actually some of the best I have had in NYC. Had the pea soup and the best veal Milanese I have ever had. On business I travel to Milan 6 to 7 times per year and nothing compares to JoJo' s great preparation. My wife had the asparagus salad and poached lobster. For dessert we shared the banana cake with caramel ice cream. Our wine choice was a very good Sancerre. All in all a great dinner and we highly recommend a visit4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing lunch!I had heard of JoJo, but am never in that neighborhood. Lunch with the wife and the $28 prix fixe was perfect!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful in Toile. This was my second time at this spot. THe first time, I brought my family there for my parents' 60th anniversary. This time, I came back with my mom in-law and sister in-law for mom in-law's birthday. THis place fits the bill for a special occasion. There are heavy toile curtains everywhere you look, so it really feels like a cozy french restaurant. The menu has a simply cooked portion, and then options with more sauce and seasoning. I like the seasoning. The appetizers are great. I had octopus, and also the salmon sushi--both delicious. The main dishes were fantastic. Desserts-great. The service was friendly, but a bit flat. I recommend this restaurant for a beautiful night out.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a dinner with my friendI had a dinner with my friend and we had a good time!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful experienceWe had a wonderful experience at Jojo's. The warm Asparagus salad is a must. Each bite will give you a new taste experience. The salad is so beautiful, the dressing, divine, the lettuces, magnificent. I can't say enough. The tasting menu was perfect, as well. Not too much food, and beautifully presented.
In a word, Jojo----Magnificent.
One more thing....you must order the Chickpea fries!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific food and quaint atmosphereTerrific food and quaint atmosphere but the kitchen could not quite get it together. We ordered prix fixe lunch and they were unable to give us dessert even though ample time to deliver. Nothing taken off bill for this and one woman's coffee never even came. Only one chardonnay on menu but $21.00 per glass, Really?4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a gemFood is excellent, as usual. Lunch Prix Fixe is a great value. Tables too close together and small.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful respite from the crowdA terrific place to enjoy good food and quiet time.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Pea Soup is terrific,The Pea Soup is terrific, the salmon with truffle sauce was cooked to perfection. The staff went above and beyond with their special "Birthday" dessert! Our lunch was a wonderful way to celebrate a Birthday!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first visit. Chose theMy first visit. Chose the restaurant because it looked so charming. Unforunately the upstairs (which is most charming with windows that open to the street) was not open that evening. However, the lower level is very sweet as well. Chose one of the tasting menus, though it was difficult because so many items sounded wonderful. Totally enjoyed all of it and will definitely return with a reservation for upstairs.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed our meal at JoJo.Enjoyed our meal at JoJo. The spring pea soup was wonderful, as was the roasted cod with vegetables. My friend enjoyed the peeky toe crab and the Black Sea Bass. Service was a bit spotty. Waited awhie for tea which, when it arrived was chamomile rather than English breakfast - a big difference for a black tea drinker. I phoned ahead for a candle in my friend's dessert - it was a birthday celebration. This did not happen - explanation was that they'd thought I'd said in my "son's" dessert since my friend was clearly not my "son" they demurred. Ultimately brought us a third dessert "on the house" but who needs a third dessert? At any rate, the food was very good. Tables are a bit tight & ours was very wobbly.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe prix fixe lunch is a wonderfulThe prix fixe lunch is a wonderful deal. The food is delicious, making use of seasonal ingredients, and the presentation and service is lovely. JoJo is an elegant option.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place to dine!Found this little place online and read all the great reviews so reserved for a Friday night. I had asked for a window table since it was a birthday dinner and they gave us one. The location was great, such a darling little side street and so beautiful inside. We did have to wait a bit for our reservation which was a little cramped in the entrance. Wine selection fab and great price range! Cocktails were delish, food was a little salty but overall we loved it. They brought out the dessert with a candle and a Happy Birthday plaque, perfect!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and very professionalGreat food and very professional service. Made a special occasion a memorable one. Thank you!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorite restaurantsOne of my favorite restaurants in NY. Excellent food, very good service, never hurried, music level lets you easily hold a conversation. Really impressed the MIL, thank goodness. I can see why JoJo has been so successful for years. Definitely not a "scene", but you'll get a civilized meal for about $80.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMpiece of Paris on 64 streetStunning. I am in love with decor and service was good!
