  • "Great place and service. Price quality perfect and club ambiance!"
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "The food, drinks, & music was great. The drinks were a little pricey but worth it if you're looking to have a good time."

  • "We were looking for a place with great food, atmosphere and live music. Well we found what we were looking from in JoJo’s Restaurant and bar. It’s a great cozy place for the young at heart; where grown-ups can hang and really enjoy the mood. The jazz band was friendly and good, JoJo’s even surprised us with dessert (nice touch). We will be back, with friends."

  • "The food was really good, but the server's attitude was what ruined the experience."

  • "Food took 45 min to come out. Music was great, great setting and good food."

  • "Still cannot get past the Cajun pasta which is awesome! Thus place is great for special events or when my palate wants food full of flavor"

  • "It's a decent bun bun spot, I wouldn't reccommend coming on the solo. RSVP are not always honored at the time of the RSVP, due to lack of space."

  • "Food was OK, but not much to write home about. While the baby back ribs were good, I found my angus flat iron steak to be tough with an odd flavor. Just didn't much care for it."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "we had great food, ribs and drunken chicken. Our seat was upstairs, at the window and the noise level was perfect. Downstairs had a live band. We really enjoyed our dinner and night out."

  • "We took our Dad here for Father's day. We had actually planned to take him for his birthday. Regardless we had a wonderful time. JoJo's is a jewel... a gem. Although the drinks weren't anything to write home about the food OMG was delicious and they give very generous portions. The service was fantastic and I have been raving about it to all my friends. The music was great!!! I can't wait to go back. It's a nice little spot. A little small but quaint!!"

  • "Made reservations for dinner here, the food was fantastic!! Had a couple of drinks and that's what was the most expensive. The music was entertaining and wonderful."

  • "Overall my food was fantastic! Everything that I had was delish! Great drinks as well. However we have reservations and did not get seated for a hour and a half. This was very upsetting as the host/manager forgot about us twice."

  • "Calling all adults? Fun friendly service with good food but small / intement for a romantic feel for dinner. Live jazz earlier then 10pm a new band graced the stage with some old time favorites Jazz & R&B!"

  • "I bumped upon this place and decided to eat here with a girlfriend on an early Sunday evening. The food was great (I had Seabass, she had Drunken Chicken), service was great (very prompt and attentive waitresses), prices were reasonable and there was even a cool jazzy band that played at 8pm--not too loud so you could still here each other talk. "

  • " The food was good. It took longer than expected for my table to receive entrees. The cajun spice on the Chicken/Shrimp was slightly overpowering, but not horrible. Was surprised by the bone in the chicken when it was supposed to be breast. Looked like a leg bone but it was white meat which probably meant shoulder bone or similiar. "

  • "First time at JoJo's celebrating a birthday....ate upstairs where we could hear the music, talk and enjoy our meal. On recommendation of Melanie, our waitress, we both had the ribs and they were excellent....and Melanie is the jewel in the crown. Her manner with guests, her short conversations with us and her welcoming spirit made the dinner special....as did the birthday surprise of Tiramisu with a candle. If you are looking for a spot on U street, try JoJo's and enjoy!"

  • "I attended Jojo's for a business dinner and had requested a quiet table on the 2nd floor. The special request did get to the host for the evening, but my request was not able to be honored because of a private party. The host explained this and sat us at a quiet table near the bar. The food was pretty good, and the service was friendly. As far as what is available on U Street, this place had a little less to offer as far as the eclectic nature of the U Street area. The jazz was pleasant and not overwhelming."

  • "We headed to Jojo for our girls night out. The food was amazing, service was fast, and our server was able to split our checks with ease which I really appreciate. I always have a great time at Jojo. The only down side is we didn't get to sit downstairs but since we had a lot of catching up to do we didn't mind so much (plus you could hear the music upstairs and there was a TV so we could see the band playing.) We'll be back again for sure!"
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "Although I requested downstairs seating when I reserved my table, upon arrival I received upstairs seating. But the food and excellent service made up for it."

  • "I have been to Jojo's about 3times, and each time I am impressed. The food is great, always cooked to perfection. The service is awesome as well. They have Live bands playing...they set the mood perfectly and give a very chill vibe. Pricing is also a plus, as well as location. The only disturbance is the size of the space. It can get really cramped, and a bit too personal for comfort. If they could adjust the seating, I would give 5 stars! "

  • "The place seems to be run by total incompetents. We had to walk out. As we left other patrons were complaining about food, service, etc."

  • "The southern food with the jazz music and cool ambience made for a great date night. We grabbed a high top table in the back by the bar and could enjoy the music while still being able to hear each other. Would definitely go back. I had the seafood pasta and my date had the lamb chops. If we go back I'M getting the lamb chops because I had a taste and they were wonderful. Remember to tip the band on your way out!"

  • "I took family visiting from out of town and they loved it! I plan to go back next week and enjoy the bar scene. The music was terrific ... felt like I was back on the 70's jammin' to the beats!"

  • "My girlfriend and I wanted to listen to live music while enjoying cocktails. Our choice wasn't a disappointment. The wings were fresh, light, non greasy and delicious. Their happy hour prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be returning.."

  • "FINALLY tried out this spot. JoJo's has been a U St. staple since I moved into the neighborhood nearly a decade ago. We went on a Saturday night; there's a 2nd floor (no music) & bottom floor with live jazz. There was a small band that was supposed to end at 8 pm (res was for 8 but we came about 15 min early to catch the end). Luckily, the band went for almost half hour over their end time, so we got to listen to some great music while perusing the menu and getting appetizers. The next band came on around 10 pm, but started setting up earlier (a little awkward with random screeching of the mic, but nothing too annoying). We got lamb chops, crab cake sliders, and a burger: all solid, though red snapper with shrimp only has 1 shrimp (sad). "

  • "When I and couple of friends planned a Saturday night out we were looking for a place in DC with a cozy atmosphere, nice food and live music. I checked U-Street restaurants online and so I found JoJo.
We arrived early for our 9:45 PM reservation and were seated promptly in the dining area upstairs which we were happy about because when the jazz band started playing downstairs around 10 pm we could still hear the band and carry on a conversation.
For appetizer I ordered Caprese and it was one of the best I ever tried. Grilled Salmon as a main dish was very good too. The portion sizes were just perfect. The service was fast and smiling.
We definitely go back. "

  • "After 2 weeks visiting USA from UK and many nights of the usual good steakhouse/ seafood USA meals..... we were badly in need of a change !! JoJo's was brilliant.... good live music/ great food and drinks at sensible prices/ eclectic fun clientele and staff who made us feel immediately at home. A real little gem...we wish we could transport it to the UK. "

  • "This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My bf was coming into town and I needed to find a nice romantic restaurant with live music. According to yelp, this was one of the best restaurants in dc. I loved the food and my bf loved his. We both ordered pasta but his portion was very small. His pasta was about half of what I had and both dishes were about the same amount. I wanted to ask why the dish was so small but he encouraged me not to. Other than that, the service was good. The live music was great. My bf really enjoyed the live music. We were seated on the ground level and it was a small space so I think next time I go, I will definitely go upstairs. Overall, it was a very quiet, romantic, and intimate date night."

  • "I went to JoJo's for a first date. I had the Cajun Pasta. It was good not great however menu selections are superb. My date had the lamb, garlic potatoes and spinach. They have a strong wine selection and their cocktails and sparkling champagne are great. I was there when Kaleidoscope band was playing, they are really good and set a fun and energetic tone."

  • "We had reservations for 6:30 on a Friday night and were greeted with a smile. There was an excellent jazz band playing in the bar area which we could hear perfectly from our cozy corner table upstairs. The waiter was a sweetheart, the rolls were warm and the food was homey. I had the chicken with mushroom sauce, very yummy. My partner has the snapper with shrimp which was very good except for the salty jus on the plate, but he just ignored it and said the rest was really good. i would go back when in the neighborhood."
