Two of us ordered the halibut. It was cold and tasteless. It shouldn't have been served. Two of our group had steak. One was excellent and cook as ordered. The second was stringly and over cooked. The hash browns were over cook and so crisp they couldn't be separated with a fork. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and have had good experiences. After this experience I would not recommend the restaurant.

The food was great, don't get me wrong, but Madison has better food and atmospheres for less. Our server was outstanding, but still not worth the $95 bill (not including tip) for two people without drinks. Would rather do Tornado Room or the Wonder Bar. I don't mind paying for quality, but for that price it better be the best in town.

Everything was good. If you are in a rush don't go here. You should probably think it will take about 2 hours. Also, when it's busy service is a little slow. Steak was great but a little over cooked which is huge.

I was slightly disappointed due to the noise level, it was hard to have a conversation with my girlfriend without having to yell and it was hard to hear our waiter also due to the noise. I'm 28 years old and i don't have hearing issues if that says anything about how loud this place is. I was hoping for a more romantic atmosphere. The food was good and the service was outstanding. I feel that this place is a bit overpriced as well and i have spent far less elsewhere in a more romantic and quiet setting.

Had a great night at Delmonicos. Would recommend the French onion soup. Tenderloin with Oscar topping. Fabulous has browns. If you're not in the mood for steak, have the scallops. Awesome!

Food was great. But I do not understand why the hostess seated us right next to a group of business men on a slow night where there were many open tables. Some spacing between diners would have made our experience more private and far more enjoyable.

Very unimpressed by the petit filet. Music was way too loud and our request for quiter seating was met by "the music is that loud everywhere". I am hard of hearing and the music was too loud for me. I would think the manager could have turned down the volume just a little.

The only thing preventing me from giving a 5/5 is the steak we ordered was slightly overcooked. When we said something to the great waiter, he sent the manager over and they offered to remake it. We kept the original, but would have obviously preferred it be cooked correctly the first time. The service was great and the food was even better, despite being slightly overcooked

We were in Madison for Ironman Wisconsin and chose Johnny Delmonico's for dinner on Saturday night before the race. Everything from the beginning was fantastic! The wait staff, the food, the ambiance were all amazing. The waitress even knew what Ironman was and that it was happening the next day (which has not been the case in other local establishments we have been to).

Our waitress from the initial greeting to the final thank you and good-bye was five stars all the way. Our son is allergic to milk and it's by products so he cannot come in contact with any food of this nature. Deborah P. made sure all items were screened through the chef for our needs! The service was prompt, timely, and professional. Our wait staff was personable, friendly, and courteous. The food was delicious with a capital "D".

Another nice Anniversary visit to Delmonico's for us...as always. Service is impeccable and food was prepared to perfection. My wife's cocktail came up a bit "short" in her glass as our server poured it from the shaker. We were stunned when our waiter went back to the bar - and returned with the additional amount for her glass. What a super nice touch. The wait staff is always so attentive ! Thank you.

Service, food and ambiance were all excellent. Great steakhouse fare, plus seafood and vegetarian options as well. Only complaint - one wine we ordered from the featured wines mentioned by our server turned out to be $18 per glass. It was very good wine, just wish the server had mentioned the price - much higher that what we usually pay per glass, even at comparable restaurants. Otherwise, a very good dining experience. We brought a well-behaved 3-year-old, and while it is not a typical family-friendly establishment, all of the staff were quite gracious and offered kid-friendly options.

Nothing special to offer. Also...watch your open booth table proximity. ..I felt I was having dinner with the two top next to us.

Impressive Spirit selection and Wine lineup. Everything seems to be hand selected and the staff makes you feel at home and not rushed to make a decision. We started with the Oysters (both East and West Cost available) and a Caesar Salad. The Caesar had that classic Steak House style to it. It’s hard to get great Oysters in Madison but they had them. For the main course I had the Aged NY and my partner at the Petite Cut. Both Steaks were superb. There are several great Steak places in Madison but Johnny Delmonico’s Menu, Service, and Ambiance puts it above them all. From the Wine Menu, Oysters, Salads, Calamari, and of course the Stakes this place offers more amazing dishes than other places in Madison can come close to offering.

We had the crusted Ribeye steak. It was a little cold once we got it. The mashed potatoes were excellent but a little cool. The tomatoes basque was incredible and the creme Brule was great but you can tell it was not made fresh. For the 35 dollar price. It was alright. The waitress was unbelievably friendly along with the bus boys and hostesses.

Quality of the food did not match the very high price. Despite prices like L'Etoile, Harvest, and other top-flight Madison restaurants and a menu promising extraordinary food, Delmonico's delivered staid, conventional dishes: heavy on the butter, cream, salt, potatoes, and -of course- meat. Alas the petite filet was tough. A menu outlier, Japanese-inflected ahi tuna, didn't deliver on the promised salad (a few shreds of radish and carrot) and was served on decidedly undercooked soba noodles. An intrusive server didn't help. Not going back.

I wanted to take my wife out for our 28th Anniversary It just took way to long for everything....from the waitress getting to our table, to getting our appetizers, Then my wife and the other couple we were with wanted the 14 to 21 day dry aged 10 oz.New York Strip...the waitress had great knowledge of the steak so that's what they wanted...15 minutes after ordering she came back and said they were out of that steak ...we couldn't believe a steakhouse was out of any type of steak...so they ended up getting the regular 10 oz. Strip and it took 45 minutes or more to get our steaks...we did get a apology and got a free round of drinks. and we had made plans to go to another party but never made it because we were just to tired.

Food was excellent - my steak was cooked exactly the way I like it. All four of us were totally satisfied. The waitperson took a long time explaining the options and differences, but did a very good job of it. A couple more fish/poultry/vegearian options (yes, I know it's a steak house) would complete an otherwise excellent menu.

This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend. And, it's a Food Fight restaurant. So, it must be great. Wrong! On a Sunday, the large amount of business must not have been anticipated. Long delays between ordering and receiving food. When it arrived, my steak was luke warm. My wife's fish dinner was bland. While the chef was more than willing to accommodate our vegetarian's requests, the menu needs more than one (pasta) option. The spirits drink ordered neat could have fit in a thimble. Overall, the prices were steep for what was received.
