John Ash & Co.
Gourmet dining next to the vinesWonderful dining experience on the edge of the Russian River valley. Owned by Ferrari Carano family with a fantastic wine list, beautiful patio seating and exceptional food and service....a definite must for dining in the Sonoma valley. Seasonal special of the evening was Halibut and did not disappoint. Previous Business trips allowed me to visit restaurant 3x over the past few years. Testament to the experience returned "on my own dime for a 4th visit"! Highly recommend5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can always rely on John AshWe have never been disappointed in this restaurant. Had a concert to go to at Wells Fargo at 8 pm. Arrived at 6:30 for reservation, seated immediately and was served shortly after we ordered. When we lingered too long, I told the waiter to bring the check while we started dessert, and the bill was paid as we finished. We then left in time for the opening bars of "Pirates of Penzance". A great evening was assured, as always, by John Ash & Co.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMVegetarian DelightWe are vegetarians and had great choices both in the appetizer category
(Loved the avocado fries) and entrees. Salad was excellent and dessert was as well.

All-in-all a very nice experience!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place for a special dinnerOur last night in Napa before returning home, food was good, not great with a limited selection. service was great, great ambiance, good wine selection.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemWe live only 10 minutes from John Ash & find it our "go to" restaurant for a wonderful vineyard setting and, most always, good food.
Service is consistently good without being overbearing. We also appreciate the "value added" when the chef sends out a sample taste of something he has created for that evening.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than ever, wine country spotKeeps getting better, set in vineyards is owned by Ferrari Cerrano. Made early reservation for 2, there for bike event the next day. Due to traffic, etc was late and alone and w/ long ride next day not drinking wine. Would expect not the greatest service , but treated like I was a party of eight and ordering most expensive wine on the list. Very courteous and accomodating, no problem was told when called to explain I would be late and 1 instead of 2. Had choice of tables, great service and food was amazing. Veal cutlet special very tasty & tender, mixed gree salad w/ citrus had me licking the bowl. Sorry I couldn't try the wine list. Can't wait to go back. Have been here many timea, food did not disappoint, maybe even better than before.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderfulJohn Ash never disappoints. We come with friends from out of town, or just a date night, and we always enjoy the experience and the food.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff is efficient andThe staff is efficient and friendly and gracious. The food is excellent. The cost is a little high, but worth the price. On a warm evening we were seated on the indoor/outdoor patio overlooking the herb garden and the vineyard, with the mountains in the background. We had the best table in the restaurant. A great place for a celebration or just a lovely dinner out.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinnerWe were at John Ash & Co for my birthday. Had a great meal that was delicious. The service was wonderful and we lefy knowing we wanted to make this place a regular on our list.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a table in the patioI had a table in the patio in an exceptionally nice evening, so my experience might be different than a person who was sitting indoors. I any case, the food was excellent. I don't know if they have sommeliers or not but even after I mentioned something about the bottle of wine I ordered, nobody followed up with me on that. Overall the location and the food were outstanding.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll be writing a rave reviewI'll be writing a rave review on my food and wine blog.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were excellent.Food and service were excellent. I enjoyed everything about my visit, right from the time I entered the building. A great smile and a sincere "welcome" from Heather, the hostess, set the tone for the evening. She escorted me to the bar where I met Ben, the bartender. I requested a Chopin martini, up, with two olives and that was exactly what I received.
My dinner consisted of clams on the half shell with a glass of Chardonnay. Then I ordered a Caesar salad, which was outstanding. My entrée was the mushroom ravioli. Without a doubt, it was the very best I’ve ever had. I almost licked the bowl it was so good. If you are anywhere near this place, you must stop in.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAgain, had a wonderful timeAgain, had a wonderful time at John Ash. Unfortunately we couldn't sit on the outer porch area due to a big dinner party but still had a nice view of the vineyards. The food was scrumptious! Although the wine list is extensive, it would be nice to see some variations on the wine by the glass, it could be more than it is.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAny positive review we haveAny positive review we have seen is completely justified in our opinion. An outstanding meal, attentive service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We will absolutely include this on any return visit.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Easter Brunch.. FoodWent to Easter Brunch.. We were seated at a quiet table next to the fireplace. From the quail and chickpea pate amuse bouche, to the perfectly dressed crispy salads, through the entrees paired with miraculous wines, and the final coupling of dessert and Illy coffee, the waitstaff and chefs made the evening a perfect birthday gift for my dad and stepmom.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprisingly good!! The food, wine, and service are always outstanding without being pretentious or stuffy. You simply cannot beat the view into the vineyards. After dinner take a stroll around the grounds! They are truly lovely!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOur special place in wine countryWe have dined here about a dozen or more times and we have never been disappointed. This time we ate out on the patio with heaters and it was very nice. Our server was very nice and we enjoyed talking to him. Service overall was excellent. I had the cawliflower soup and stuffed chicken breast and both were outstanding. The chicken was prepared perfectly and was moist and delicious. My husband had the Rib Eye Steak which was very good as always. He loved the twice baked goat cheddar cheese potato. Brussel sprouts were very tasty. This is one of our "go to" spots since food is always very good and service is usually outstanding.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Place in Santa Rosa!We love this place! We stay overnight at the Vintner's Inn when we can - Which is on the same property. We brought friends with us this time and they liked it also. Great drinks, wine, and fantastic food! If they have the brick chicken, do yourself a favor and order it! Yum!1/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
