A word from Joey's Italian Cafe
Joey’s is an affordable contemporary Italian café in the center of the Wynwood Arts District serving healthy, authentic Italian country cuisine. Opened in 2008, Joey’s created an immediate buzz, including a prestigious citing as one of the top new U.S. pizza restaurants in Food & Wine magazine.

The main dining room, with its concrete floor, glass mosaic mural and marble tables makes Joey's comfortable enough for a relaxed supper and elegant enough for pre or post dining for show patrons at the nearby Performing Arts Center. Joey's serves Wynwood's burgeoning arts community with a fine-tuned menu of healthy, classic dishes from Venice and other culturally rich Italian regions. The affordable, chic restaurant is owned by Joey Goldman, a partner in Goldman Properties, which rejuvenates urban areas and transforms them into thriving global destinations.

Diner Reviews
  • "Solid restaurant, nothing exceptional but a good choice. Casual, comfortable Italian."

  • "Well we had a great dinner but no thanks to open table. The restaurant had no reservation for us so they did not receive any info from open table regarding our reservation. It was only because we were so early that they could seat us anyway."

  • "Really enjoyed this place. The ambiance was nice, and the service was great from the time we walked into the door. The food was excellent, so much so we were going back the next day to get some take out, only to find out it was only open for lunch for that day. We will definitely be back."

  • "We went on a saturday night, the place was packed and very loud so we opted to sit outside. Our server was very nice (and funny). The food was very good, the daily specials we tried in pastas and lamb ossobuco were specially nice."

  • "We where expectante great food and ambiente. Tne food wasn't a bog deal, I could have cook the same or better. The air conditioning wasn't working and there was too much noise...will never go back"

  • "We went for celebrate an award my 10 year old son received. When the hostess called me to confirm my reservation she asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. I didn't have a preference so she suggested the garden. I t was perfect. My kids loved the pizza & gnocchi. My husband & I shared the gorgonzola, walnut & arugula pizza which was weird but in all the right ways. We will be back."

  • "My girlfriend and I visited Joey's for the first time May 5, 2014 and had the most amazing experience. Everything from the service to the food was 100% on point in every way. Definitely a spot a would hightly recommend and will also visit when we are in Miami. #305newFavspot"

  • "This is one of my favorite spots in Miami; and the top one at Wynwood... the service is the thing i like the most; however the pastas they make are awesome and thy always have something outside the menu that really worth the look :)"

  • "We had a late dinner, my trout was very good, if not excellent, the service extremely friendly and the price reasonable."
    Dined on 4/19/2014
  • "My wife had a steak that was all fat and the arugula on the side was so small it looked like garnish, I had a pappardelle in the oven that came so over done it was burned and dry. Never going back and won't do that to any friends or family of recommending."

  • "Our waitress was knowlegeable, but pushed the specials quite a bit. If you like fish, there are plenty of options. The cocktail menu is good. I started with the beef carapccio which was delicious and extremely tender and my husband started with a scallop appetizer. The waitress was very attentive until our entrees were served. Then she dissapeared - so annoying since we dined relatively early and the place was not crowded. I then had the branzino special. The fish was a bit overcooked, flavorless and served with a side of mixed veggies which looked like they had been sitting around for quite some time. The presentation was that of a mediocre restaurant. We spent close to $200 for two people (4 drinks total and no dessert). Not worth it."

  • "Had the Joeys Pizza, ok but definitely inferior to Lucalis, Buffalo de Mozzarela, Harrys. and even Piola. Crust was like cardboard. Would not order it again. Send your chef over to Lucali's let him watch and taste quality thin crust pizza, it may change your business! Thengo over to Buffala's and see what they do. Dent want to b mean but Your pizza taste like Jenos frozen compared to theirs. Parpadelle pasta baked w meat and cheese , not acceptable , Go buy Stouffers frozen meat and Cheese lasagna at Publix, defrost in microwave and it is this dish. No kidding. Pasta was overdone to mush, and served in a creole dish with soupy chese Pear tart desert was nice and not to sweet , served w vanilla gelato,, very nice."

  • "Great restaurant for great Italian food. On the same block as the "Wynwood Walls" which makes for a nice walk after dinner."

  • "We experienced both good food and mediocre food... & one dish we had to send back! Overall, it was a favorable experience, but you have to order the right meal."

  • "I've been to Joey's several times over the years and enjoyed it. But I can say nothing positive about our recent dining experience. Not one thing we ate was good, from the salad to the pizza. Needless to say, I won't be going back."

  • "Overrated and overpriced. Might have been more pleasant on a week night. Outdoor dining area ok as generally unpleasant neighborhood surroundings separated by bushes and vines. AstroTurf floor covering and rest of decor not particularly pleasant. Good food but nothing more. Our feeling is of you are going to charge in the higher price range, you should be prepared to deliver across the board.aybe it is a place to stick with pizza and beer and not entree specials."

  • "Not a great experience, barely a greeting from the hostess. For the price, it was very disappointing. I ordered the elk medallions, it came as a massive hunk of meat, virtually raw, extremely bland . No steak knife. Waitress was nice but overwhelmed. Give it a miss, good location in wynwood but better options like wynwood kitchen."

  • "had a good time. food was very good. the mimosa was not made the way the menu indicated. exterior dining was spoiled by some clients smoking tabacco. service was adequate."

  • "My wife and I had a very pleasant dinner at Joey's. It was recommended and we were not disappointed. The selections were varied and the wines by the glass were reasonably priced. The service was outstanding, The special fish of the day was Branzino was excellently prepared. We seldom have dessert, but tried an intriguing combination of ice cream, nuts and espresso that was delicious. The restaurant in located in Wynwood art district and has valet parking. A great choice. We will be back."

  • "Wonderful small Italian restaurant in an up-and coming Wynwood neighborhood. Surrounded by similar restaurants, this one seems like the one to prevail in the competition."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "The unique departure in the recipes for traditional dishes along with prompt service make Joeys a popular spot, and one we will return to enjoy. The high quality and freshness of the offerings make it a consistently delightful stop for casual dining. The only negative, and this is likely a personal point issue, is the traffic noise in the corner garden dining area. But, at times that may not be a valid issue. Joeys is a worthwhile stop."

  • "We've been to Joey's before and know how consistently good they are, but on this very busy Valentine's night, we were not expecting great dishes from the kitchen or the most attentive service. Wrong on both counts and pleasantly surprised. The fixed menu choices were the best this night. The lamb chops in a blueberry and wine sauce were to die for. That was a special and don't know if they make regularly, but they should be part of their regular menu. Our server, Esther, was nothing short of fantastic!"

  • "My date and I were served relatively quickly and we both found our respective plates to be both pleasing to the eye and palate. Once we were served, however, getting the attention of the waitstaff proved to be a bit of a challenge. The staffing appeared to be inadequate for the amount of traffic in the place. Our waitress seemingly all over the place taking orders both inside and outside and the busboys seemed unsure of what their resposibilities were. I wish that the staffing and service at Joeys was as good as the food from their kitchen!"

  • "Once again we enjoyed a wonderful evening at Joey's. Food is always fabulous as is the service. This was the only time we had a small problem. We were a table of 8 and were seated all the way in the back outside.....next to the waitstation. The noise on this Saturday night - non-stop clatter of dishes tossed into bins -- made conversation difficult. I don't know that there's a solution for this other than to request not being seated at that table. Aside from that, we love Joey's and go there as often as we can....any time we're in the neighborhood."

  • "Went with a group of 5 friends and we all came out with the same conclusion - bad!!! Would not recommend this restaurant at all. The food was bland, tasteless and seemed as if it was purchased frozen at the local supermarket and microwaved. Had the supposedly "fresh" fish sent back as it was not at all fresh. A complete rip off. Needless to say, we will not be back again and have already spread the word to avoid this restaurant."

  • "Having checked in and been sitting for 10 minutes, I received a call reminding me that I have a reservation and was asked if I was still planning to come in. Well considering that I checked in and was already sitting, safe to safe yea I was coming. Bad sign and should have known right then how this would play out. As I can see that the locals would love a place that throws the food at you when it's ready, luke warm I may add, the food and presentation would have been what Master Chef Gordon Ramsey would call rubbish. My salmon- tasteless and overlooked. Better off with a Big Mac. with taste, presentation and bad service, this is a local gem. If you want the before mentioned, go to bal harbour, Carpaccio for top quality food and service."

  • "My husband and I had the pleasure of dining recently to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. Joey's was recommended to us by a co-worker of mine. We enjoyed our meals and the ambience and we recommend you try it for genuine Italian cuisine and excellent pizza! It's best to make reservations because Joey's has been discovered by many. Before or after your meal, you can stroll the nearby art galleries."

  • "Cozy layout without feeling crowded. Very friendly staff. Delicious food! Good for a small group of 6 celebrating a birthday, wife very pleased by the surprise. Not too difficult to find, gps helpful to maneuver Wynwood.arking via valet or on street just down the block."

  • "Great thin crust pizza plus other good options. Not sure about going there in Miami summer weather since a lot of space outside but on a cool January Very enjoyable and reasonable for group dining too."

  • "The fiocchi was amazing! Also had a plate that said it had lobster and they literally served me half of a Maine lobster, reasonably priced too."
    Dined on 1/11/2014
  • "New item on the menu, medallions of bison, were not up to Joey's usual level of dependably well prepared experience. It may have been refrozen, was overcooked and tougher than it should be. As the highest price item on the menu, it was out of character for a restaurant I frequently enjoy."
    Dined on 1/10/2014
  • "We had a good dinner here. There is a nice outdoor dining area where we sat. The salmon, chicken and cod entrees were all enjoyed. The pasta dish was ok but too heavy on the sauce. Overall a good experience. There were quite a few patrons considering we were there early by Miami standards. 6:30. We have always gone here for lunch, this was our first dinner experience. We would return. It is also very reasonably priced, a plus."

  • "I did not enjoy Joey's. My dissatisfaction is compounded by the fact that I have been working in the restaurant industry several years. I reserved a table at Joey's for New Year 2014. We arrived and were seated immediately. That is when the good service of this restaurant ceased. Our waitress took over 15 minutes to greet us even though the restaurant was not busy. She did not say much other than what can I get you? I asked for her food recommendations, she pointed at a few things, offered no descriptions. Based on her suggestion I got a over-breaded $34 snapper fish stick. The bad service and food cost $180. Gratuity was included, 20% for terrible service. I will never return. I told the manger about all of this, he ignored me."
