Although Joey Gerard’s may not include all of the interior elements typically found in a classic supper club, guests will enjoy many nostalgic features with a modern spin. The interior of Joey Gerard’s includes a warm and comfortable atmosphere with high vaulted ceilings, textured wallpaper, plantation window blinds, patterned drapes, tropical green leaf carpet, large period light fixtures and lamps, plush black leather booths and black and white photos of people enjoying themselves in restaurants and bars from late 50s and early 60s.
The vibe at Joey Gerard’s embraces a casual, family-dining experience. Combining classic supper club menu options, value-oriented specials, classic cocktails and ice cream drinks make Joey Gerard’s the perfect community gathering place.

Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant is not normally open for brunch, but our group had a very nice meal on Easter. They offered a nice mix of breakfast or lunch menu items. We had a variety of egg dishes and were very happy."

  • "Joey Gerard's Mequon for Easter brunch was excellent! We have been to Joey Gerard's Mequon for dinner in the past and have always had great service, excellent food, wine and cocktails. Easter was no exception to the quality we expected. To our delight, Easter Brunch was not a buffet, but a trio of appetizers, entrees and desserts all superbly orchestrated and traditionally served at our table. We would highly recommend Joey Gerard's Mequon for any dining experience."

  • "We had Easter brunch here and it was very good. Food was excellent and service was top-notch. First time dining here and we will be back. The brunch is table side with a choice of menu items, not a buffet, so this may not be for everyone. Grilled salmon was very good and my husband's filet was wonderful. We want to try dinner here next. "

  • "Server took longer than should have to greet us.. We were looking around for her after 10 minutes or so. Entree course was quite disappointing . Not what described on menu, poor presentation and average quality."

  • "We have many choices in the Milwaukee area for fine dining and Joeys has been near the top of our list since the first time we went last year. We've been back several times since. The food is fantastic, the service is particularly attentive, courteous and extremely professional and we always have a good time. We took our 2 boys - 14 and 11 - this last time. Great food options for them and they enjoyed the experience too!"

  • "Ordered the T-Bone, medium rare. Steak arrived "rare". Couldn't cut the steak without white-knuckling grip on utensils, even though it was rare. Went through two napkins removing tendons of steak from my mouth. Not the most attractive sight in front of my date. Left most of the steak untouched. Carrot cake dessert was flavorless and I really love carrot cake. Brandy Alexander was more like milk than ice cream - forgot garnishment. Bill for two was $190 including tip. Service was very good for the most part though main entrée was served in bits and pieces instead of coming out all together even though the place wasn't overly crowded. Probably the least impressive $150+ meal I have ever had."

  • "Service was great, everyone was extremely nice. Food came out quickly. The only thing I could say I was disappointed with was the drink service. Being known for the old fashioned , the soda mix used was flat, I asked for olives and they send them all out the same with cherries."

  • "From the moment we were greeted, we knew this was going to be an excellent experience. Professional and friendly from start to finish. Great décor with the older photos, remanisitant of the supper clubs of the past. The tables are not crowded together giving a more expansive feel to the dining room and a sense of intimacy. Immediately served with a small fresh selection of cut, raw vegetables with delicious dipping sauce, all complementary, we go off to a good start. The lazy Susan style appetizers we ordered, smoked white fish, deviled eggs and coleslaw were all fresh, tasty and excellent. On to main courses of pan seared chicken and Scottish salmon both of which were piping hot, freshly prepared and excellent. We will be back soon!"

  • "Joey Gerard's and Harbor House are my favorite Bartolotta restaurants. The ribs were fantastic. Prices are reasonable."

  • "Our 5th visit to this great place. My husband's steak was exactly how he likes it--medium rare--and cut like butter. I ordered a new item on their menu--pan fried chicken. I was expecting chicken pieces, like I enjoyed in the past at Sally's, but it was more like a butterflied preparation. The skin was crisp and flavorful and the meat was moist and tender. My elderly mother ordered a hamburger (not a very adventurous foodie!) and it was also done perfectly and was most flavorful. We ordered three different desserts: peanut butter cream pie; shaum torte; and a brandy alexander. Because it was a birthday celebration, they only charged us for the brandy alexander. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Our waitress was great-Jessica. Ask for her table."

  • "Food is always good here, unfortunately they took some of our favorites off the menu (tilapia and kids spaghetti). Ordered bone-in fillet medium well; it came medium rare. Nothing worse than watching the rest of your food get cold while you're waiting for that single steak to come back. It was cooked to perfection the second time."

  • "As with all Bartoloto restaurants - Joey Gerard's did not disappoint. We had Beef Wellington, Lobster Kabobs and Lamb chops ... Each meal was more delicious than the prior! Great happy hour specials, terrific friendly attentive staff, awesome wine list and delicious desserts! We will go back! Plus a beautiful view if the river!"

  • "This was our first visit with a group. Our server Chris was entertaining and very attentive. The food is always good. 2 of the 4 people had the "special" which was lobster. They do not give you the price when they give the specials. We had a few cocktails and overall everything was fabulous, but the bill for 4 people was $375.00. I believe the lobster specials contributed to this as well as having cocktails and dessert. Great place for special occasions. We were seated in the bar area, which we loved because there was a basketball game on that we wanted to see."

  • "My husband loves the bone in ribeye steak, so he ordered it for his third time. Unfortunately, it wad rarer than it should be do it had to go back, even finished it was nit up to the same quality as the first 2 times. Our friends enjoyed their prime rib dinners and the veal special was vety good. The cauliflower soup that evening was awesome."

  • "We received a gift card along with a gift check, so this was our first time dining at Mequon location. Enjoy everything about the place, food was fantastic, fish fry was more than we could eat, service and atmosphere was wonderful. The cauliflower special soup of the night was out of this world. You should have this one all the time."

  • "Our server Cindy was on the spot about service; friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu and evening specials. Would ask to be seated in her area on next visit. Manager Tommy J was an exceptional host. I watched how he made sure to stop at every table and make sure his customers were receiving attention to any of their needs/request. I would nominate both to share the Employee of the Month award."

  • "My wife and I are frequent visitors to many of the Bartolotta restaurants, but we hadn't yet taken the opportunity to try Joey Gerard's in Mequon. So, we went there for our anniversary dinner, and were blown away by several things. The ambiance reminded me of some classic established supper clubs in NYC...the kind that have stood the test of time because of the comfort they provide. Leather bar stools, dark wood, and a general feeling of warmth. Excellent cocktails, reasonably expansive wine list, and the service in both the bar and the dining room was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The highlight was the meal itself. Outstanding steaks, and the "Lazy Susan" appetizer was fun and unique. Definitely going back!"

  • "This was our second visit to Joey Gerard's. Food was good. Service was good. Price was what we expected. So, what more can you ask for? We liked their selection of beers and the brandy old-fashioned was very good. We will definitely come back, especially in warmer weather, for the river view."

  • "The majority of our 7-person party had steak and were very happy; but scallops and lobster also were enjoyed. The before meal relish tray and bread were a nice addition. We also ordered The Camper lazy susan to share - yummy cheese, sausage and deviled eggs! Service was attentive and not rushed with our one non-gluten diet given personal advice on menu options. We all liked the shared desserts. It was a very pleasant evening."

  • "I still try to stop in at least 1x a month. Always a very friendly staff, clean establishment, excellent food and amazing service. The bone in rib eye is still my favorite and can't wait for my next one. I also enjoy stopping in there for a cocktail and conversation to catch up with friends and family."

  • "We had steaks, Petite Filet and a T-Bone. Top 5 T-Bone ever! Great waiter who took his time, explained everything well. Only drawback was my glass of red wine (Root 1) was skunky. If you're hankering for a steak, this is it!"

  • "We had a wonderful evening celebrating two family birthdays. Joey Gerard's is in our neighborhood, but since we had heard it was expensive and reservations were difficult to attain, we hadn't visited the restaurant. We made reservations easily thru Open Table and had an exceptional experience from the friendly welcoming hostess to the extremely friendly, happy, thoughtful, helpful wait person, Cristin. Our food was exceptional. We will return!"

  • "Reservation process was seamless. Salads were wonderful, both the house chopped and the yellow beet salad with greens and pecans. The prime rib preparation was not to the taste of our three diners, bearing an odd (to us) quality, which was shared by the au jus. Taking the remaining prime rib home, we used fresh horseradish, which brought the prime rib back into our preferred flavor, and back also into our favor. Incidentally, we requested horseradish at the restaurant, and were told it was not available. The creamed horseradish accompanying the prime rib was of generous proportions, but insufficiently sharp/horseradish flavored for our taste. Reception/hostesses were welcoming, Wait staff (Christina) was attentive and responsive."

  • "Great Steak was only the beginning when it comes to having a great time. The service and wait staff do a great job to make you feel welcome. We don’t really dine out much and this was only our second time at Joey Gerard's. The food has been great but the service has been awesome. We were celebrating my wife’s Birthday and I noted that when making our on line reservation. Never said another word about this. After finishing our meal our server (Rick) appeared with a Schaum-Tort that was excellent this made my wife feel very special. Thanks Rick and the entire staff for making this a special day for us."

  • "I have been a fan of fish fry Friday for many years and I'm always on the lookout for a great place in the Mequon area. Joey Gerard's has a great Cod fry with very good potato pancakes. The coleslaw was good, but not of the style I favor, all sour no sweet. The waitress ( all of them that I could observe ) were warm and genuinely friendly and at your table when you needed them to be, very good service! The supper club atmosphere is recreated with a modern twist to the ambience. I will return to try their featured menu item - steak !"

  • "Wait staff very knowledgeable of menu and very polite. The food was outstanding. We had the Braised short ribs and Trout almondine.. We had a lovely time and will definitely return. We celebrated my wife's birthday and it was wonderful."

  • "First, it needs to be known that my company built both Joey Gerrard's, so on the one hand maybe I'd be biased for the place -- but I think instead it raises my expectations. Like the other times I have gone, it was for a special occasion. The food could not have been better. The timing of the service, arrival of the food, refill of drinks, was all perfect. My steak could not have been better; her crab-stuffed lobster made her very happy. The ice cream drinks were wonderful. Our hostess, Tatsiana, was as charming and delightful as one can be. Thanks for a great evening!"

  • "We've been regulars since opening. Great food but service is getting worse. It gets worse every time and doesn't matter what day of the week. Half the servers seem to have nothing to do, while the other half seem busy and you can't get their attention. The floor manager is hanging around but doesn't seem too concerned about anything. Not even apologetic when we told him we hadn't seen our server since beverage delivery."

  • "Relish and crackers, trout and whitefish, wine and tea, solid service by Chris and a nice night. Recommend the chef not pan fry the lemon wedge, and that water for tea be hot all times ( it was for pots 2 and 3). Another great evening at Joey B's"

  • "This is yet another Bartolotta restaurant we went to and yet again, another wonderful dining experience. Yes you pay well for it but as they say "you get what you pay for" and this group knows that and dishes out the service in a big way. The employees were all very nice, the food was cooked perfectly and the timing of the food was on target. If you want to bring a date or go out to a special occasion, go to a Bartolotta restaurant. You simply can't go wrong. We never have. Well done Joey staff!"

  • "We went to Joey Gerard's to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday, and we were not disappointed. We had a table with a view of the Milwaukee River (in all it's frozen glory!) and our server was informative and attentive without being obtrusive. Our meal was exceptional, right down to the strawberry Schaum torte. We will definitely return."
