Although Joey Gerard’s may not include all of the interior elements typically found in a classic supper club, guests will enjoy many nostalgic features with a modern spin. The interior of Joey Gerard’s includes a warm and comfortable atmosphere with high vaulted ceilings, textured wallpaper, plantation window blinds, patterned drapes, tropical green leaf carpet, large period light fixtures and lamps, plush black leather booths and black and white photos of people enjoying themselves in restaurants and bars from late 50s and early 60s.

  • "This was our 2nd time at Joey Gerard's and we thought this would be the perfect place for an evening with friends who are shortly moving away. Although there were many open tables, we were shown to a table in a loud busy area. Joey Gerard's prides itself on being a traditional supper club with relish trays, etc. The relish tray for 4 people had only one green onion and a small cup of dip. The waiter brought the wrong sauce for my wife's steak, forgot sour cream for my potato and melted butter for the lobster. He also was not very attentive with clearing plates. Three of us had the supper club option which included dessert but he did not remember that when he brought the dessert menu. One bright spot - they honored an expired coupon."

  • "This was our 3rd visit and most likely last. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was 5 relatively small shrimps for $13. While my steak was good it was not worth the price. Service was slow, nearly 30 minutes between salads and main course. Many places to choose from in milwaukee area, suburbs or downtown, that offer a much better value and experience for the money."

  • "I love having this place so close to home. You are able to receive the downtown quality in the food and drinks but also have the friendly local staff serving you. The steaks are cooked to my specification and the daily specials are always tasty (get there for the brisket on Sunday!) Fun to meet people there for drinks, or take the family for a great dinner or get a nice table for 2 for you and your sig other."

  • "We went to JG's last Tuesday evening with friends from Boston. We dined on lamb chops, duck, t-bone and NY Strip. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. They loved the classic cocktails. They were very impressed. Also, we requested seating in the bar area at the booths and were escorted to our booth immediately. The request I made at the time of my reservation, was honored. Thanks for always granting our special requests."

  • "We went to Joey Gerard's for my birthday. I had chicken marsala. It was tender and mouth watering. The cream sauce with mushrooms was absolutely delicious. My meal also came with mashed potatoes and spinach which were great too. My husband ordered steak skewers a special they were running. The steak was marinated in a mustard sauce. The meat basically fell apart in his mouth. It was that good. He also had zucchini, onions and red pepper. We have gone to Joey Gerard's three times now and each time our experience has been PERFECT! Everything is served at the right pace and all of the staff is fantastic! My husband and I just love going to Joey's!!"

  • "Our foursome stopped at JG's after a round of golf at the Bog. Lively bar scene in the late afternoon on a Monday. We enjoyed a very nice dinner with three of us ordering the Monday Special - braised short ribs - and our fourth had the filet. All were delicious. The Schaum Torte for dessert was a great finish. A Bartolotta Restaurant never disappoints."

  • "The food was outstanding. We had veal picatta and bone in filet. The only thing that exceeded the food was the service. Our server (Cindy, I believe) was one of the most professional servers I have encountered. She knew her menu, and was able to find the perfect balance of interactions. We will definitely be back. "

The menu was notably classic and the prices quite escalated. $40.00 for a petite filet mignon with a baked potato and vegetable is a bit over the top. The complimentary breadsticks, celery, radish and olive tray was cute; but really not impressive. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was suitable for a dinner out, although I was not please to be seated near the restrooms and wait staff doors. I am surprised that they don't utilize the fact that they are located on the river. A patio overlooking the river would be nice. Overall it was a "nice" dinner; I wouldn't rush back, yet I wouldn't not recommend it. "

  • "To whom it may concern, Our dining experience was very good. The server and the food were fantastic. I do have one problem. I made a reservation for 7:30pm and when I arrived at 7:25 the host was very rude and said it would be a while for the table. We were not sat until 7:48pm and two groups that walked in with no reservation were seated before us. Not a great first expression on the restaurant. I feel that If I take the time to make a reservation my table should be ready on time and I should have been greeted with respect and with a smile. "

  • "The food was outstanding (popovers, scallops and special filet, Schaum torte), as was the service and the very friendly host. As new customers we saw only the bar leading to the river, thus accepted being poorly seated in a dim supper club room with blinds drawn and 3 loud parties. Our limited discussion in the noise and big booth touched on how odd it was the restaurant was so small and had no seating on the river. Then afterwards, wandering through the massive bar, we found the other room. Many small tables along windows on the river. Such wonderful ambiance out of sight and never offered. The restaurant was not crowded that evening."

  • "Food=delicious, service left much to be desired. I could tell they were going for a casual atmosphere, but service should NEVER be casual. I am assuming that by having servers in white coats that was not the intention. At a supper club I want my servers to be experts. It was probably too loud for our server to even hear what we were saying. The table are way too small for the portions, the dining room is cramped - get rid of some of those tables! The bartender was just OFF. My husband ordered three Manhattans and they all tasted different. I was similarly disappointed in my Martini's. I would go back for the food, but next time I will wear jeans and pretend I am at a bar that serves awesome steak, rather than a supper club. "

The waitress was very knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Great atmosphere and view. Wish we lived in the area, since we would try and attend one of the Sinatra/Dean Martin tribute concerts."

  • "We go to Joey's a fair amount. This visit was somewhat sub-par. Our waitress stopped by to fill our water, then we didn't see her for almost 30 minutes. We finally flagged another waitress down who took our order. After that our assigned waitress was by every 5 minutes. I had a full rack of ribs that were over cooked and extremely dry...really hard to get off the bone. Joey's is usually very consistent...maybe just an off night."

My colleague had the steak Diane which I had recommended from my last visit -- it was great! I had the veal piccata, for the first, time, and was duly impressed. The fine place on the river in Mequon is worth the drive from Milwaukee."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at the Mequon Joey Gerards May 6th A friend treated us to the unbelievable artichoke dip and popovers to go with our perfectly made Brandy Old Fashions. I'm not a huge artichoke lover, but it was awesome. The popovers were warm, flavorful and done to perfection. Our entrees were both prepared exactly as requested and were extremely flavorful. Mmmmm..... We finished our dinner with cups of delicious decaf coffee and shared dessert of bananas foster. A sweet, delicious end to our dining experience. We have dined at virtually every Bartolotta's restaurant, and my wife and I both agree that tonight's meal was, without a doubt, the best , most flavorful meal we have had at any of the Bartolotta's. "

  • "They get it right . Service was attentive and personable without being intrusive. The pace of the service and meal was perfectly timed. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. Rare was rare and medium rare was medium rare. Sounds simple but it actually isn't. Kitchen did a great job."
