  • "Have lived in Chicago 1 1/2 years and people kept saying - "You need to go to Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crabs". Had to wait two weeks for a reservation when my husband and I finally decided to go. Place was packed on a Wednesday night at 7 PM. Service is very good - our waiter was attentive and helpful but didn't make a big deal out of the fact that is was our first time there (like some places). Split an order of the Stone Crabs which were wonderful (although a bit expensive for an appetizer). Ribeye steaks cooked just right and when he brought the special seasoning I thought how could it be that good - wrong! It really adds to the steaks. Best key lime pie think I have ever had."

Our waiter was very knowledgeable and the staff kept our table clean. They were like ninjas! Steak and lobster was divine. We barely talked until dessert because we could not stop eating. Def going again the next time we visit Chicago."

We told him the price point, he asked some questions about preferences, and the server did an incredible job to pick a broad range of choices. All of the dishes were incredible and the amount/quality of seafood for the money was very reasonable. I will definitely be back."

  • "We had a large party of 8 and none of us were disappointed in the quality of the food. Our waiter was personable and made some good suggestions. The busboys (men actually) were a pest however because as soon as you put a fork down they took it away. It was clear they were pushing us along which I found distracting. I almost said something to our waiter to have the guy take a chill pill. So the fish was excellent and the prime steaks were done to perfection. The sides were a bit so so but if you want to carb load take the mac and cheese. Wonderful. My only disappointment was with the bread. Poor quality. The prices are steep for most items on the menu but if you can splurge it was worth it."

Noise level is a bit high due to the size of the dining room itself which holds a lot of people; not sure their is an answer to that, but has never taken away from my enjoying your restaurant. Also, love the fact you are a contributor to the Thursday-Friday dinners at Catholic Charity. All the more reason to choose Joe's over any other restaurant."

  • "First, our server Liz was amazing. No rush, recommendations were spot on, let us order course by course. Second, food was fresh and exactly what we expected. Had the bone in Halibut and would do it again! My husband loved bone in ribeye! Crab cake and crab claw appetizers, desserts were delicious! Crazy twist, we overpaid the check by mistake (paid it twice) and when we realized it in the morning, Liz had alerted the manager after we left and our money was waiting for us. We had not been there in years and many people told us to avoid this place because it was touristy, but maybe because our reservation was at 10pm on a Saturday night everyone looked like locals. Would go back it a hot minute! Great way to spend or 20th wedding anniversary!"

  • "So, the food is very good, the service is very good, the ambience is very good and I would recommend this place to friends, but I'm saying it's not quite worth it? Yep, that's the contradiction at Joe's. Even with a reservation, there's always a bit of a hassle getting seated and you end up standing on top of bar diners while you wait. The food is great, but the prices are greater, especially when compared with Lettuce's other seafood place, Shaw's, a few blocks away. We end up here a couple of times in a year. It would be more frequent if they could make a relatively small number of adjustments--although the place is in demand enough that I doubt they'll be rushing to make changes on the basis of this review."

  • "This was my second visit to Chicago and my second visit to Joe's. There was a 5 yr. hiatus but it hadn't changed. Joe's was still superb! In this ever changing time was comforting to find a constant. The food, the drinks and the service was all 4 star. Erin, our server, was professional, helpful and full of good tips. There were 4 of us for dinner and we each swore that our dinner was the best! Chilean sea bass, stuffed shrimp with crab, mahi mahi and scallops over pork belly. Of course, all of these were lead by the stone crabs with that all time favourite of mine mustard sauce!! A memorable dinner was had by all!"

  • "Tried to get into Joe's many times in the past and was always a really long wait to get in. Was so glad to be able to celebrate my 50th Birthday there. Food was exceptional and service was too. We thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers, main dishes, side dishes and desert! At first, I thought the environment wasn't really for kids (21 and 18), but for an older crowd, but our children really enjoyed the food and surroundings. Would definitely recommend your restaurant, though most people I know have already had the pleasure of being there, and would most definitely return."
