  • "Although there continues to be a shortage of Stone Crab, the Alaskan King Crab is so delectable that I almost did not miss them. The Rock Claws are not as good as the Stone Crab Claws, no matter what the waiters intimate! The vino list is very diverse in its offerings, and more than adequate in my view. The meal was stunningly good, the service polite but not overbearing, and I enjoyed Joe's as always. Recommendation: Alaskan King Crab Steamed or cold; Salmon; and that corn! Very tasty indeed. SUGGESTION: Bring back the fried lobster tail appetizer!!!!! PLEASE!"

  • "The host was great. Made even strangers feel like a regular. The waiter was attentive. Bus boy was clumsy. Decor old, worn out and stuffy. Crab bisque was in need of seasoning. I had the bone in filet, told it was the signature steak, waiter said the best in Chicago. It lacked seasoning (waiter did bring seasoning for me to do,strange). It was tough and hard, poor flavor.My wife had the filet and lobster.Her steak echoed mine.Lobster was good but presentation poor. I think people go here because they think this is how you are suppose to dine for an occasion. Overall I would recommend others places for value for the money. A $55 steak should melt in your mouth and be seasoned.Place was decorated in the early 80's and not up dates since."

  • "The fish was good however, presentation was absolutely horrible. I would have been embarrassed if I was the chef and saw how my food was displayed. We also split a mozzarella salad (or so we thought) they handed me a plate with 2 quarter tomatoes the size of a shelled walnut. The mozzarella was barely noticeable. For what they charged, unbelievable. Again, I would be very embarrassed if I managed or owned that restaurant."

My martini was mediocre but the chopped veggie salad was divine , the fried oysters divine and the chileAn sea bass was delicious . But I want a total package . It was the b team . However, Our maître d was as excellent as ever ."

  • "The seafood tasted fresh enough but the menu was pretty limited. I was disappointed by the lack of any lake fish offerings. Price was way too high given the very mediocore food. Everything had way too much salt in it, even the pie. They sent the pie over because of an extensive wait for a table that I believe was because they let another party take our table and failed to realize it for awhile. No manager checked in on us and the pie was just brought out. Id have rathered they took something off our bill."

  • "I'm from México City and every time I have visited Chicago I've had dinner at Joe's. It's well worth to dine here. Service is one of the best you can find in Chicago and the food is excellent. The place can be a bit noisy depending on the hour, but nothing to discourage you to pay a visit. The regular menu is outstanding, but remember to try the specials. You'll get surprised! If you are a wine lover, wine list may let you down, although you always find some good wine that will save the night. Make sure to make a reservation at least one day in advance."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Joe's this past weekend and it could not have been better. When reserving on Open Table I put a note that it was our anniversary and we'd like a quieter table away from the kitchen & bathrooms. Though we got seated about 20 minutes past our 8pm reservation, the host and manager were incredibly accommodating and did everything they could to make it special night. Our server was outstanding and we now fully understand the hype around Joe's. Though we didn't get any stone crab (sold out), food was still great- pie left something to be desired though. All in all, sparkling recommendation from me!"

All were amazing. Side dishes and desserts are incredible too. Packed most evenings, don't unprepared or not hungry. Although it started in Florida, Joe's presents the best our city has to offer, each and every visit."

  • "60th B-Day, Claws not in season, soggy, very disappointing, Halibut was the best we have had in awhile, finished our dinner, poured the last glass of wine, here comes Dustin with the birthday dessert!! What?? wanted 2 shots of Maria Brizzard, hard to find, but we told him if not, bring us 2 chilled white Sambucca, Dustin brought us a capful each of the black Sambucca. I did complain to the Mgr and they gave me a small credit, bill was still $300+ . The waiter behind us was great, he talked and interacted with his guests, the wait staff is a problem. I called prior to the dinner and asked about Birthdays, Crab Claws, etc.. She should of told me that there was a ltd amount of claws and that they were frozen, not fresh!! Probably won't be back"

We were able to make a reservation for Saturday evening, which was perfect. All of the staff were excellent. We loved our server (Darrin, I think?). All of the food was superb. We would love to return sometime!"

  • "My colleague and I were in Chicago for a conference. I checked out Joe's great reviews on Open Table and made reservations for dinner on July 8th. We were so pleased with Joe's. The service was amazing. Our meals were delicious. The waiter was very helpful. I could not decide between ad a crab cakes and crab stuffed shrimp and asked our waiter's for his opinion. He said he would asked them to do one of each! My colleague had Joe's scallops. We both had peanut butter pie for dessert which was incredible. We talked about how awesome Joe's was for two days and on our last day in Chicago (July 10th) we returned to Joe's for lunch! Our lunches were delicious. Our waiter at lunch was also great."

  • "I reserved this table for my wife's and I 4 year Anniversary. When we were sat the server was friendly and helpful. Everything was great until we got our appetizer. We ordered grilled calamari (didn't even know it was a thing)and received fried. I let our server know so she corrected it but after that she rarely visited our table and instead would visit the tables next to us multiple times. We sat with empty plates for awhile as others were getting theirs picked up and getting serviced literally the people we were talking to about 1/2 to 1' away from us. So I wasn't to happy about the type if service we received. I don't know if she did this because we were young and assumed a bad tip or she was mad about the appetizer but it was wrong."

  • "We had a magnificent experience from making a reservation online to exiting the doors with our neatly packed desserts to go. The Alaskan King Crab legs with drawn butter were perfect with generous portions of meat and came pre-cracked by wait staff so you don't have to worry about mess or ruining your nice clothes. Sides were separate but large enough to share and all delicious, although the mashed potatoes, fried asparagus, four cheese mac all had similar flavored crust. We are from out-of-state and would definitely come here again."
