Service was stellar, food was excellent. Mole sauce on the tacos was the best I ever had, more salsa-ish than chocolate (which was a good thing, since I am not a big fan of mole). Was the 1st time I'd ever been to Joe's in all these yrs, will for sure go back. Would have liked to have seen the "regular" lunch menu on a Sat tho. Was kind of bummed it was only a brunch menu offered on a Sat. Still really good food tho.

We went next door to have a drink before they opened and ended up running a few mins late. I walked over to tell The hostess she said not to worry to take our time. When we came back she remembered me and called me by my name. That may have been a little detail but for me those small details are just as important as the food. The food was as beautiful as it mouth watering, we couldn't wait for the next bite or the next course. The staff were inviting, professional, and overal it was a really wonderful experience. The back patio was a bit more quite than the front of the restaurant. Although the fountain was not working the ambiance was very peaceful and romantic.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the special Rosh Hashanah menu available. I tried it and it was absolutely delicious! The couscous and eggplant starter was one of the best dishes I've ever had, followed by beautiful cod and a dessert of poached pears. Presentation was excellent. The wine pairings were perfect, especially the Pinot Noir with the cod. My companions enjoyed their calamari and mushroom ravioli though they reported that the ravioli was a bit salty. Service was nice and relaxed and very attentive. I don't know why we waited so long to try Joe's -- we will return. Note, it is pricey. We spent $225+ for three, with drinks but no bottles or dessert.

Small but well balanced portions as the dishes tend to be very rich - as in lots of butter, sauces, etc. Complex tastes. A good contrast to the trend towards simply prepared fare. The prix fixe lunch is an excellent value.

Great brunch menu! Fresh ingredients presented very nicely. Attentive service and a nice atmosphere. And the awesome food is reasonably priced. I will definitely come back here. I tried the confit pork belly with fig, shaved fennel, corn cake topped with poached egg and grilled corn salad. Everything was seasoned very well. The freshness of the fennel was great with the richness of the pork. The corn was sweet and tangy. The egg was poached perfectly. This dish really surprised me in a great way. I think the only way it could improve would be to add some spicy heat. Maybe some roasted chillies in the corn cake would work. Even without modification, this dish is stellar.

If you find yourself in Venice, or nearby Marina Del Rey or Santa Monica (from where I walked there down Main street and on to Abbott Kinney), definitely do yourself a favor and book a dinner here. Great, bright, casually cool atmosphere. Bright coloured decor toned down with dimmed lighting, signature cocktails, and interesting menu creations make this a can't miss if you're in the area. Make sure you finish with the popcorn Panna Cotta.

We enjoyed bringing friends who just moved to LA to Joe's. The prix fixe menu is a great option. The corn soup was outstanding. The grilled steak salad included crunchy corn and a savory light dressing. The sorbet combination was a refreshing and light end to a lovely meal. Our friends loved the ambiance, the food and the service. We will be back soon.

Joe's always has fine food, very well presented. Because it is too noisy in the evening, we go for lunch. It is the best restaurant on the West Side that I know of for a lovely celebratory lunch. The menu is varied, but I have noticed they have not changed the luncheon menu in a while. It did not matter that service was slow mid-week because we were chatting with our friends. So let's see some variety in menu choices as fall approaches.

I had read great reviews about this restaurant for brunch, in particular their crab hash. I ordered the crab hash and found it to be hugely disappointing, it was very watery and had little flavour. The bottomless mimosas were very good however the waitress was somewhat unwilling to keep them bottomless. I would not go back for brunch again.

We had tasting menu with four wines selected by waiter. Food was good, but I would had liked more information from waiter what we were eating or drinking. During one course waiter just said that this is a duck. I would had liked more details. Also same happened with wines that waiter didn't introduce all wines. "This is the last wine" was comment for last wine. Also I would had liked to get one desert wine for deserts. Drinks from the bar were excellent.

And we will be back! Went this past Sunday night. An older crowd - fine by me. A quieter evening to go - also fine by me. Sat in the back area. Lovely space, lovely food and the service could not have been better. Our server, Allyson, was so sweet and helpful. For all you chocoholics: if you are deciding between the choc bread pudding and the choc crunch cake - we had both. Crunch cake had a more intense chocolate taste.

I had the opportunity to go to a private dinner where Joe Miller was the celebrity chef. However, this was my first time at his restaurant. I took a client there and all five of us loved the food and the service. We were there on Tues. night and I brought two bottles of very good wine, fully expecting to pay corkage…corkage was free on Tues. That was just the icing on the cake for a very creative menu where everything we ordered was well conceived, well executed and served in a timely and professional manner. I highly recommend Joe's Restaurant in Venice.
