I have loved Joe's ever since my boyfriend and I had our first valentine's date there years ago. The reason we made this reservation was to get a chance to say goodbye before it closes down. I will never forget the mashed potatoes and the lamb meatballs at Joe's--and the many special dinners I've had with friends, boyfriend, and family there. In the sage words of Boyz II Men, "And I'll take with me the memories, to be my sunshine after the rain--it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday." Cheers, Joe's Garage!! We will miss you!

Great food! The service is always pretty poor. It seemed as though they were understaffed, but we had the pleasure of watching our waiter visit the tables around us 3-4 times each while we sat there waiting for a check. It wasn't all bad as we had time to make a face out of leftover vegetables from my dates burger...

We went to Joe's for brunch on a snowy/icey/sleety Sunday morning. It was very quiet at 10am. Service was fast and very friendly. Andrew, our server was great to the two kids (10 and 12 yr old) in my group. We were seated in the upper level next to the big windows facing Loring Park so we had a great view while we dined. Good coffee and delicious food! We'll be back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the rooftop dining area.

We like all kinds of music, but there was TERRIBLE music (?) on an even worse speaker system. Our salads and desserts were vey good, as was the service. This place could be cool with better ambiance-- some bright colors and furniture and lively music that accompanies eating, not competes with it.

Joes garage was fine. Portion sizes small for the cost. We had the lamb meatball mashed potato plate and cod mashed potato plate, both of which were ok comfort food- nothing spectacular. While friendly, the service was also nothing to write home about. Ordered a beer which was given to us in a can, when we asked for a glass, we got one straight out of the dishwasher steaming hot.

Food was just OK. I had the Baja Mashed potatoes and it was not interesting. I'm not sure what the big deal is with the mashed potatoes...they're just mashed potatoes. Nothing special. The garlic green beans were way too garlicky. I couldn't stand to be in the same room with myself after dinner. Kind of a cool vibe and I like the multi level set up of the building. Other food is probably better and the rooftop patio overlooking poring Park is no doubt great in the summer.

Our most recent visit didn't meet the expectations we had from previous visits. Our food was fine, although my spaghetti carbonara had undercooked pasta. One person's drink was so strong she couldn't take more than a sip. The guys very much enjoyed the lamb burgers and were happy with the Surly on tap. I think the biggest disappointment was the service. Our server hardly spoke, was hard to find, and didn't bring us the specials. We had to ask for refills instead of being offered and the bill payment took longer than it should have. Overall, we will still be back based on our other visits, thankfully this wasn't our first time here.

Service was good, once the Server realized that we hadn't been approached yet. Appetizers were awesome, especially the turkey meatballs. Some of the dinners were lukewarm, others spot on. Best meal was the cajun risotto. Several had the fried chicken and mashed potatoes, which did not receive rave reviews.

My first experience at Joe's Garage was better than my second. This time the drinks took forever and the food was dry. My first visit, we were seated at a table on the patio. Second visit, we were inside. Inside seating made it very difficult to carry on a conversation. I had to yell. It's too noisy inside Joe's for us.

I went with a large party for my birthday dinner. We all arrived at different times, but our waiter was very accommodating and kept our drinks filled and checked in periodically until we were all seated. We all ordered our food, it came promptly, and was fabulous. I especially recommend the mash potatoes with their curry sauce. It was an unexpected gem! Burgers were excellent and prepared as desired, and all other food items were wonderful as well. We will definitely be going back. That said, they used to have a spicy Asian pork burger that they have removed from the menu. I was pretty disappointed to learn that because that particular burger was awesome; however, there are plenty of worthy replacements on the menu.

Do not - repeat - do NOT go here for brunch. We just finished brunch. One of us wanted lox and bagel but they were out of bagels. One of us wanted a biscuit with our eggs but they were out of biscuits. We got an English muffin instead of a biscuit. We asked for butter and jelly but they do not have jelly. Unfortunately, the food they DID have was hardly worth eating - - tasteless and served cold. They shouldn't even bother to open if this is the best they can do.

We decided to check out Joe's Garage for Restaurant Week, despite the many negative Yelp reviews we saw. I'm glad we gave it a chance, because we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waiter was very attentive. Our appetizers and entrees were delicious. We had the poutine, short ribs, southern fried chicken, and jambalaya risotto. My only criticism was that the carrot cake definitely did not live up to it's name of "best ever." It was dry, and cold from just being taken out of the refrigerator. If you're going to give a dessert the title "best ever," it had better be out of this world good...

Went here during restaurant week. The food was really good. I had the red tai clam chowder, lasagna and carrot cake. The chowder was wonderfully spicy. The waiter was attentive without being annoying. We will definitely go back. Only downside is it is on the outskirts of downtown, so remember to bring cash to make parking easier.

went here for the reaturant week specials to try it out. Had a reservation and didn't get the table we asked for. the menue offered an appetizer, entree and dessert. For the $10 lunch you could pick either the appetizer and entree or dessert and entree. We were there at 12:30 and were told that the dessert was no longer available. The statement made was that: "it would surprize me to have any of them left". when I am trying to show to potetial new diners I would have dessert available. The sevice was mediocre at best. Had to keep asking for refills on the drinks. Food was als only marginal. The Asian Sliders were bland, only a semi hint of asian, french fries were good. salad was good. overall not a place we will go back to for food

Went with a dinner companion for Restaurant Week. Had reservations at 8:15pm for two people; we got right in. Service was efficient, and the food good. For Restaurant Week, they had a special menu from which we both ordered--for $15 one could choose from an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. A good deal. Unfortunately, my dinner companion had to change the appetizer and dessert he ordered because he was told they were out of both of those specific items. While he enjoyed his second choice of appetizer and dessert, we were both disappointed in what was clearly a lack of planning in ordering enough food for their special menu. While I'd go back, I think I would avoid this place during Restaurant Week.

You have to love the menu, especially the garlic mashed potatoes that start your meal and includes the meat/veggies, etc. of your choice. Our server was excellent.
