We booked a table to ensure we got a seat on a Sunday evening. On arrival our table wasn't ready and we were handed a device that would buzz when our table became free. Countless couples and groups waiting escorted to their tables before us making it evident our booking meant nothing. Committed to eat here stuck it out to be taken to the smallest space and table we had ever had the pleasure of eating at. Our busy was attentive enough and our order was promptly taken. No sooner had we taken the first bite of our appetiser our main dish was plonked on the table. We asked for it to be served a bit later and were then kept waiting ages before finally being served Luke warm tasteless fare. If this is your thing then give them a visit.

We had family coming into town and it ended up being a party of 9. At 730pm I used Opened table to get 815pm reservations. They were so accommodating. The waiters were excellent bringing out multiple baskets of bread while we waited, always refilling our drinks, bringing out all our food at once. Our actual waiter even volunteered to take a picture of us. We are definitely coming back again.

Consigliato.

Having eaten here before, I thought it would be a safe place to take a picky eater, but sadly enough it didn't work. We ordered nachos to start, which were great, but the bottom half were so drenched in cheese sauces that they were too soggy to eat by the time we got to them. The food was rushed out before we were done with our appetizers. Unfortunately it was a fluke though because they brought my friend very undercooked meat. We had to flag down a bus boy to ask him to bring it back because our waiter never came to check on us. It then took them another 10 minutes to cook the meat again, but then they cooked it way over done. Needless to say we weren't too satisfied.

The food here is always great no conplaints about the food. The service is always catering to your needs they were always checking on the table and gave us refills that were there in no time. The drinks there are very well made and tasty while the price was very good. It's a great spot for lunch, dinner, late night drinks, or watching a sports game there. Highly recommended establishment.

Lunch was a disappointment. We had burgers that were average and the crab cakes had too much bread. For being one of the places to get the "best crab cakes in Boston", it was pretty poor. The service was bad because of the attitude of the waiter. He kept clearing the table while we were eating and did not clean the table between the main course and dessert. Food came out in a timely manner but the attitude of the waiter made it less than pleasant. The greeters were very friendly and welcoming and the setting is terrific.

We had a group of 8 for a hastily-arranged Sunday night dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. From the ease of reservations (thank you Open Table!) to the excellent wine list, superb food and attentive and friendly service, it was a great experience from beginning to end. Looking forward to going back the next time I'm in Boston!

Lively spot in a very central location on bustling Newbury St, with nice indoor street-level space open to the sidewalk for taking in the passersby and enjoying brunch or burger or salad. Handsome, sports-themed downstairs dining room has a nice bar and open kitchen, and the space is lined with booths. We were four for brunch and had no complaints.

Everything about this restaurant shows a seasoned crew is behind the work of this place. Consistently great food, excellent service and good price points for a high-quality product. And a plus is that it is on scenic Newbury Street. This is why I keep coming back to Joe's over and over again.

Was on time for reservation. Hostess said would be a few minutes they were setting up our table for eight. 30 minutes later I checked back with same hostess and she said, will be a few minutes they were setting up table. I checked back 20 minutes later same hostess lied again for third time and said, will be a few minutes they were setting up the table. We left then and had a great meal at a neighboring restaurant.

Got to Joes on a rainy night around 6 pm. Back dining area only 1/2 full.... Service was very good. Meals were ok, nothing special. The macaroni with bacon was not worth the money.... Fish tacos and wings were good. I had the full rack of ribs... Not very hot... But wasn't about to send them back.

We have been going to Joe's for years and their burgers were always consistently outstanding. However, this time going to Joe's in Boston, the burgers are just on par with any other burger joint out there. The quality of the meat and rolls are not there anymore. Very disappointing when you look forward to a great burger.

Honestly I was a little applauded because this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The quality has dropped. My Ahi Tuna salad was NOT good. I would much rather go across the street and have the Ahi Tuna salad at Stephanie's. Not to mention we made a reservation and we had to wait another 15mins on top of our reservation. They threw us in the smaller dining room behind the bar and served us dinner while they were picking up crumbs and setting up for the next group. It was a terrible setting. I want my money back.

we went for fathers day. The food has really gone down hill here. For a seared ahi salad, the tuna was cold (not recently seared). Iceberg lettuce... the whole meal was lack luster. The fish tacos were also flavorless. The server never asked if we wanted any of their fresh bread. I won't be going back.

Six of us had lunch before a Red Sox game. We had 2 kids with us and were able find plenty that they enjoyed. A bit pricey, but this is on Newbury St in Boston so not out of the ordinary for the area. Our server was terrific, but it was very fast. We were in and out in an hour. Would have been nice to be a bit more leisurely as it seemed like we were rushed through. Will go back.

My teenage granddaughter is a Celiac and they said they could make almost anything on the menu gluten-free. They even had GF rolls for her instead of us eating the bread while she just watched. It is nice to be able to go with the family and know everyone can enjoy a good meal. Service was excellent, food was great, a bit noisy but it was very busy in Boston. Glad we made reservations as there would have been a wait, even at 1:30 in the afternoon. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We booked Joe's for a post-graduation dinner for about 25 people and it was the perfect solution. They seated us at two large tables in the back section of the main dining room, and there was room to move around between the tables and noisy enough so that we weren't disturbing anyone. The food was excellent, and our servers were great. We even went back (with 9 people) for brunch the next day and that was delicious too. Thank you Joe's for making it easy!

Our group always looks forward to dinner at Joe's after running the Boston Marathon. Even though Patriot's Day was more crowded than ever, and very challenging on rest. staff, we again had fantastic meals and service (even though the understandable additional security measures almost kept us from entering Newbury based on crowd limits). The crab cake special and the lobster mac and cheese were huge hits!
