This was the secona time we visitted Joel Robuchon Las Vegas. First time was Very good so I was afraid that the second experience World not be as good as the first one. But, things were even better. I had the Foie Gras and later the boeuf that were the "piece de resistance". Great meal indeed!

We so looked forward to this 3 star restaurant. When we arrived it was like entering a fairy kingdom after battling through one of the ugliest giant casinos. My wife was excited when she ordered a glass of vintage champagne. The wine was flat. The sommelier suggested that vintage champagne had less bubbles than non-vintage. We both felt that he was blowing smoke after we suggested they open a new bottle. Of course, the newly open pour was perfect! While this kind of experience can sink even the finest restaurants, the arrival of the butter cart began the lift to the clouds. The lift accelerated at high speeds as the bread cart and grilled foie gras was served! The finish for us was not a return to earth, but a visit from the cheese cart. We also demanded another visit from the bread cart! We are still flying high!

Defiantly a meal to remember. From the atmosphere to the details of the decor to the food. It was amazing. Although, it did seem like they were trying to get us to spend more by brining out the dessert menu when we specifically ordered one of the pre fix menus that didn't include dessert, only the dessert cart. Aside from that, every bite was one to savor. We loved the little desserts and tried almost all off them!

  • Excellent Experience at Joel Robuchon

This meal was the culmination of our time in Vegas and we were really looking forward to it. From a food perspective, the evening did not disappoint. We had a six course menu, starting with the delicious breads that are warmed once you have selected which ones you wanted. For appetizers we chose the sea urchin and the deep fried egg with cheese. Both were delicious with multiple flavors and aromas bombarding your senses. For the mains we had the lobster and the langoustine. Both were amazing; the langoustine was done in a wonderful ravioli that had the right amount of saltiness and a hint of pepper. The lobster's flavor lingered on your palate for minutes. The side of whipped potatoes was nice but did not add much. The sphere dessert (Bubble sugar sphere filled with a berry compote) was absolutely incredible. The bitter chocolate souffle was the only letdown in the entire evening; it was very ordinary and did not live up to the rest of the meal. The service overall was very good; however for this level of restaurant it seemed to be somewhat confused. There was no apparent head waiter for our table, which is what I usually expect. This made it difficult to know who to ask questions to. The sommelier dropped off the wine menu, but did not announce who he was. He did not return before we ordered our food, so we didn't have his guidance prior to choosing our selections. When he did return he was helpful in selecting an appropriate bottle. However, he came so late that the bottle did not arrive before our appetizers, so we missed out on pairing that course. The available breads/desserts on the carts were rattled off so fast it was impossible to remember them all, and the staff did not appear to want to have to recite them again. For this level of restaurant I expected more refined service. Nonetheless, it was a great experience.

We loved our food and the experience of dining at easily the best restaurant in Las Vegas. Fabulous bread cart, delicious starters, impeccable service...desserts for days. Bring your credit card, two people were $600. Good alternative that's less expensive: Sushi Roku in the Shoppes at Caesars Forum.

All I can say is "wow" -- this was an outstanding meal and we've eaten out around the world at some great places! My wife and I both had the four course tasting menu. We started with cocktails and then followed that with two appetizers (hot and cold), a main, and dessert, paired with wine chosen by the sommelier. In our case we were seated on a "patio" just outside the main dining area, which was very quiet and added to the meal. Each course was incredibly prepared, with excellent temperature and presentation. The taste of each course was just superb! We had a variety of meats and fishes for our courses. The wines chosen were outstanding and unique. Keep in mind that this is not cheap if you go! But, it's well worth it!

We are big fans of Robuchon and booked the table one month in advance. We where first seated in the garden kind of room next to the main dining room (where the fireplace is) - we got this fixed and had a fantastic corner sofa table in the main room. Now to the most important; Either the food has to be twice as good or they should divide the price with two: $465 for the tasting menu is simply not executed well enough, even if they load caviar and troufle on 6 of the 15 dishes. Robuchon should watch the movie Chef and re-start the engine and set the price right. Our waiters and service was superb and helped with excellent wines at prices around 120$ each.

There isn't much left to be said regarding the superb quality of every aspect of Joel Robuchon's work. The staff at the Las Vegas location are consummate professionals, able to discuss the finer points of the entire menu, including a vast wine list. The dishes are prepared to perfection and expertly served, with stunning presentation. I have dined here a couple of times and every component, from the butter curl to the sweets cart is done to perfection. This last experience included a walk through the kitchen, which is an experience in itself. Bravo!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, hoping for a very special dining experience. We went with the Menu Degustation (my wife had the vegetarian). The ambiance was terrible - it was so quiet that we felt we had to whisper to each other so as not to disturb the other guests. Furthermore, the pace was incredibly slow. Courses took 2-3 mins to eat (sometimes less), which is fine except that there was sometimes as much as a 15 minute wait until the next course was served. The only positives was the initial bread trolley (French butter + Spanish olive oil), and that the presentation of several of the plates (caviar, truffle esp.) was beautiful. However that wasn't enough to prevent my wife and I to pay and leave without finishing.

THIS PLACE IS VERY EXPENSIVE, but we loved it. It was our second time, and they did not disappoint. Great tasting menu, but all the good items (caviar, truffle risotto) are "supplemental". This is a good place for a special occasion. They had dishes I have not seen in Paris or New York. And the wine list had some bottles that I thought were extinct. If you are in Vegas, and it is a special occasion, and you love exotic French/Continental cuisine (and you have plenty of disposable income) this is the place to go.

The only thing wrong with dining here is that you suspect you may never have an experience like this again. It ranks above anything I had previously experienced and that isn't just about the food. From the moment you arrive, everything is perfect. Beginning with your reception and seating in the quiet, elegant dining room, your needs are seen to as if they can read your mind. Everything is perfect from the carefully carved curls of butter to go with 20 different types of bread (and you have to eat this bread), to the only there when you need them waiters, the timing of each course, the helpful suggestions on selecting from 3 dining options, the sommerlier's expertise, the plating, the food and of course...the food.

The most high-class restaurant I've ever had the privilege to dine in. The decor and ambiance was perfect. The service was flawless. The wine list was a full manual of a wide range of wines. The food presentation and quality is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Fit for those fond of French cooking, fit for chefs that understand culinary techniques, fit for foodies, and those with deep pocketbooks. Come hungry for the chef's tasting menu!

We had the 5 course dinner and the food was wonderful with small portions as was the wine they assisted us in choicing from an outstanding wine list. Wonderful bread cart with so many breads to choose that you could make a meal out of the breads and the butter with sea salt and olive oil. We passed on ordering the cheese cart as we had enough to eat. Nice choice of candies/chocolates to finish the meal. The service was excellent and the garden room was very pleasant. Highly recommend even though pricey.

My wife and I were celebrating her birthday, and opted for the tasting menu. The food was exquisite -- each course was beautiful, innovative and bursting with flavor. Joel Robuchon may have destroyed my ability to enjoy seafood at any other restaurant as they will probably never come close to his masterful preparations. The service was good, but it felt somewhat impersonal and cool, especially given that I had informed the restaurant that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and our steward was aware of it. Other Michelin rated restaurants that we have visited on similar occasions have made some effort to make it a special experience (personalized menus, plate decoration, candles etc).

For those who knows the Robuchon's cuisine you can't expect less then something really unique, and when I say Robuchon's cuisine I mean not only the food but the whole concept, the ambiance, the servers, the someliers, the cooks, the proper music, etc. A service that starts with the hostess, a very discreet and gentle Mademoiselle, go through the server going to your table everytime with a honest smile and ends with desserts like the 'Le Rubis' or the 'Sphère', both simply amazing, not only for their beauty, but for their, at the same time, subtle and impressive appearance and taste. Pardon me, it doesn't end with the desserts or even the gourmandises; it ends with the hostess I mencioned before opening the door with a bright smile to you.

I have eaten at Joel Robuchon on three other occasions. This time, there were little things that I found annoying. The bacon infused bread, which is normally insanely fantastic was dry and overcooked. The timing between courses was very long. The coffee was delivered without the cream. However, the food was very good and the chocolate soufflé with vanilla bean ice cream was as good as it could be.

From immidiately sitting down and being served a glass of Champagne [which you pay for], to the amazing bread cart where you order from and they then take back to kitchen to warm up, to the amazing dishes prepared where the tastes make your tongue sparkle with delight, and desert cart that has about 50-60 choices to choose from, it was a dining experience par excellence.

It is always a pleasure to dine at Joel Robuchon @ MGM Grand. The atmosphere in the restaurant is perfectly set for a restaurant in that category. The staff is well trained, they know what they are talking about. They nearly float through the restaurant. The food is absolutely perfect, it's very impressive and tastes yummy delicious! The only thing I complain about is the fast sequence the menu is served. As European I am not used to be processed that fast in this sort of restaurant- I'd have loved to enjoy myself more.

Joel Robuchon Restaurant is THE standard by which all other restaurants are judged. This was our second visit, just hubby and I, and it was amazing. The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything...I couldn't ask for more. Our server, Andrew, made us feel right at home. He was the utmost in professionalism, and yet warm and caring all at the same time. Hospitality at it's finest. And the food...did I mention the bread cart? And the butter cart? I could squeal like a little girl at Christmas every time I see it! This will be a pricey meal, especially when you do the 16 course tasting menu with wine pairings...and worth every penny. If you ever have the opportunity...treasure every moment.

  • Almost A 5 Star Experience
    DrValVIP

Robuchon has the best food in Las Vegas. Try the 16 course chef's tasting menu - complete with lavish bread and dessert carts. Each course was a work of art, with china to match the food presentation. The staff are discrete and attentive, the ambiance is elegant, and the restaurant is an oasis of calm in a frenetic tangle of slot machines. Our sommelier paired our wines perfectly. Alas, the chef made a couple of mistakes that caused the experience to fall short of a 5 star meal. The lobster and sea scallop courses were slightly overcooked and chewy, and our server was stumped several times when we inquired about course ingredients. Over all, though, it was worth the $1300 price tag for two. And that's saying something.

We had the Grand Degustation menu with the wine pairings. All 16 courses were perfect. Visually they were all stunning - many obviously plated with tweezers in hand. The flavors blended perfectly and each course enhanced the last. The nice surprise at the end of a gift - printed menus of our meal, a gift book of the restaurant and a lemon cake - were very special. Definitely a once in a lifetime meal that we will always remember.
