Diner Reviews
  • "In our opinions, the BBQ ribs and the sausage were by far the best BBQ choices."

  • "A friend recommended Joe Buck's for after the Packer game. The Cardinal game had already started, so the place was nice and quiet. We were seated immediately. Our server was very attentive, even bringing out a sample of one of the meat items we had never heard of, (Burnt Ends??? I ended up ordering them!) The award winning wings were great! Our orders arrived quickly. Everybody enjoyed there meals. Two of us had the two meat platters, another the chicken tenders, and my wife had a special salad. I had read other reviews ahead of time that spoke negatively about the service and food and found the opposite to be true. Maybe with a large group or during a "Cardinal rush" it might be a different story. We had a great time!"

  • "If you need a place to eat close to the ballpark, this is a good choice. Cardinal Nation is so crowded and Joe's was busy but not overly so. If you get there early, there is free parking in the back."

  • "Joe Buck's by the ballpark is a good option for casual dining before the game at a reasonable price. I was able to get a reservation through open table just a few hours before the game. The service was slow, especially for the food."

  • "On way to game, quick stop to grab a light meal and drinks before entering stadium. Good experience."
    Dined on 8/15/2014
  • "Food portions were small. Food was not that good. No variety . . . unless you wanted alcohol. If you're a drunk, this restaurant is for you."

  • "Overall the food and service was great. Great place for dinner before a ball game. Packed with Cardinal fans!"

  • "Great stop before game! Would like to see steaks on menu."

  • "I think it was probably just an 'off' night, either for the restaurant or for our waiter, but service was horrible. Had a group of 14 and, even after asking him to come in to take drink orders, took another 5 people arriving (and asking 2x more) before we got his attention. The appetizers then arrived before the drinks (and not even for all - in total, some people waited over 20 minutes before their first beverage arrived). When he got some assistance (randomly) service was fine - but he was either distracted or is just never attentive. Was the only time I've been that upset about the pre-added gratuity."

  • "So many photos & love the sports murals. I appreciate grass fed beef & free range chicken options. Barbeque meats always a great choice. Joe Buck's is a winner."

  • "Easily walkable to stadium. Covered outdoor space. Cold beer. Pulled pork sliders were skimpy and meat dry - not worth $10. Wraps good. Smoked turkey on pretzel roll very yummy."

  • "Great experience, from top to bottom. The barbecue is top notch and the sides were equally as amazing. They were a bit short staffed for a night after a Cards game in my opinion, but other than that, there were few flaws that stand out. All in all, we had a great time!"
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "Great spot for an after game meal. The food was excellent but the servers seemed overwhelmed. Still, I would recommend this for anyone in the area for a Cards game and they take reservations!"
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "We had family in town for a Cardinals game and decided to eat a good meal at Joe Bucks before going to the stadium, rather than paying even more for the terrible food at the game. We were all very happy with our choices."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Service is always good. Large portions for the money. Good place to before or after a Cardinal baseball games."

  • "Ordered Turkey sandwich without Cheese, I got Turkey sandwich with cheese and no sauce. Reorded and recieved no cheese and no sauce. Had to wait to get side of sauce. By the time I had the right sandwich the fries were cold. The did take off the sandwich from the bill but I would have rathered had the sandwich done correctly."

  • "good food but the service lacked a bit. The pulled pork was cold, the mashed sweet potatoes were wonderful"

  • "Stopped in before the Jackson Browne concert at Peabody. Although it was a cardinals home game, it was crowded, but good still came out timely and it was all very good! Definately recommend the humus appetizer! Call ahead seating was the way to go! Table was ready as requested. Great dining experience. Service was slower than usual due to volume but server was apologetic and it did not deter the dining dining experience."

  • "Went to Joe Bucks for lunch prior to seeing the Cardinals play the Marlins on July 4th. Food was great, brisket and pulled pork had a lot of flavor. We sat in the bar area and the bartender was very friendly and gave us the voucher for parking. Since this was our first visit we did not know what to expect and we were very happy. We came back after the game to have another drink and something to eat since traffic was backed up and we wanted to wait it out. We sat at the bar again and the bartender came right up and said "two more Stella drafts"? He remembered us even tho he was working his butt off being the only bartender we saw behind the bar! We will definitely recommend Joe Bucks to our friends and return again next time in town."

  • "We had a business lunch for 10 recently in one of the private rooms. The service and food could not have been better. We had an early lunch and then walked to the ballpark for a Cardinals afternoon game. Can't ask for much more than that!"

  • "We have eaten at Joe Buck's several times and have always enjoyed it very much. The food is good and the ambience is very nice. Have always had good service from the staff. I would recommend the retaurant highly!"

  • "Good food, good service, and good location for dinner before the Cardinals game."

  • "Bucks is always good. Unfortunately, they were so busy the service was slow and they ran out of certain foods even though we were there at 6:15. For instance, no turkey and no avocados on salads. I'll still be back. Just think they need to plan better for these busy nights."
    Dined on 6/4/2014
  • "Had dinner with 2 coworkers here before the ball game. Food was filling for the price. Definitely around 1/2 or lower than comparable meals at the stadium!"
    Dined on 6/3/2014
  • "Another good meal at Joe Buck's before the Cardinals game. It was busy but they still had a few tables (besides our reserved table). Nearly everyone was going to the game. We had a wrap and a BBQ meat plate. Everything was good except the water had a "strange" taste. Drinkable but not exactly enjoyable. Otherwise, we had no complaints, and we'll probably choose it again before games. "

  • "great! BBQ was very good as was the service. TV's everywhere to see ongoing games. Perfect for before or after heading to Busch or Scottrade."

  • "Very poor and apathetic service, minuscule portions. A huge disappointment. Never saw server/waitress again after food arrived, entire meal without drinks. "

  • "We took a couple of clients before the Cardinals game. Food was very good. Service was very good. Location is perfect for a pre-game dinner."
    Dined on 5/13/2014
  • "I ordered the "platter" because it was supposed to come with "more meat." I got three paper thin slices of brisket that would not cover a slice of bread. When I politely questioned this, I was ignored. Our party of four went through half of our meal without drinks before one of us walked into the kitchen and asked someone if we could get our own drinks. We never saw our waitress again until the check came. Our granddaughter's kid's meal came with ice cream which she patiently waited for for the entire meal, but only to be disappointed. Though we asked two employee's, no one would bring her ice cream. The place appears to be there just to rip off out of town baseball fans in the area."

  • "Joe Buck's is a must stop before any ball game. Food is great, outstanding menu...in and out before game...no problem."

  • "The restaurant is great for a pre-game meal or just a great sports atmosphere. But attention to our order detail was not too good. We had 4 in our order and 3 of our orders were incorrect. Not sure if the waiter was just not listening or what. He was attentive, just not correct in our orders. The food was good, not great. We had a reservation through Open Table and got a seat right away, even though it was packed. We didn't wait long for our food. Overall, it was a good time, I will just pay more attention to make sure the waiter takes our orders correctly."

  • "The food was surprisingly good. Service was far beyond excellent and the proximity to both the Scott Trade Center and Busch Stadium made it an excellent choice for a pre-game meal."

  • "My wife and daughters and I had a great meal at Joe Buck's recently. The BBQ was outstanding and the portions were just right. If and when we come back to St. Louis this is on my list."
    Dined on 4/24/2014
  • "The service was very good. The Macho Nachos appetizer was good. The pulled pork had a lot of fat. The cole slaw was not very good. The corn bread was not very good. I've eaten at Joe Buck's several times before and this was the only time that the food was only fair."
    Dined on 4/8/2014
  • "We have been to this restaurant several times in the past. This experience was the worst by far. The food was very bland and dry. The service was not it's finest. For our beverages, I asked for a vodka and cranberry. Yes, I did receive a vodka and cranberry - the MOST EXPENSIVE vodka they had! I was floored when we received our bill. We will not visit this restaurant in the near future! Too expensive for what we received."
