Lamb meatballs were quite flavourful and filling. Really very well done. The atmosphere was conducive to conversation without having to raise our voices. I quite often go to this restaurant when I am in Toronto and am meeting with friends and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly, polite and accomodating.

I took my first date to Joe Badali's and it went perfect. Though I barely found the time to concentrate on my food, my Chicken Parmesan tasted great! The waitstaff (Laura) was very friendly and welcoming, but what I loved the most is the intelligence she had showed in that she recognized that it was a first date and checked up on us enough times that our needs are not neglected, yet we aren't bothered too much. The interior radiated a sense of coziness and authenticity. Overall - a great experience!

The setting was very interesting with a nice atmosphere, kind of old factory setting. The food however was less than spectacular. Very bland typical roadhouse fare. Was hoping for more of an Italian experience.

Have been to JB's many times for lunch & loved it,but not so great for dinner Sat Nov 1/14. Reserved online approx 6 wks prior for 6pm & quiet table as this was special occasion(birthday). So we were surprised that rather than being put in a booth or in the small side room, we were seated in the open area right in front of the kitchen, squeezed in between 2 other tables with MANY empty tables elsewhere. We were also under a speaker so music was very loud. And because it was slow, by 7pm servers gathered back by the kitchen sitting at an empty table only feet from ours. Very distracting. Our server was wonderful, the food delicious but the ambiance/seating and lack of regard for our request, was very disappointing. Too bad :-(

I have been to Badalis a number of times and always found it to be a decent, reasonably priced place to grab a quick meal. It was the same this time save for the fact that I had the New York pizza and the vegetables were not cooked at all. Perhaps that is the style they were going for but I eat in NYC a lot and that's not how it tastes!

I went with my parents and boyfriends who came up to visit me and this place was actually recommended because of its Italian feel and the fact that it has been around for a long time. But to be honest the food was mediocre, the sauce kind of tasted like macaroni and cheese and we fealt very rushed. Usually at Italian restaurants you get to enjoy being with and relax and enjoy each others company but about 3 minutes after receiving our appetizers we received our main dishes and where cluttered with a bunch of food and felt very rushed. I understand that big restaurants or restaurants in general are trying to create a table turnaround but we left very unhappy and will not be going back.

Was looking forward to eating here as it was our first visit to this restaurant and was listed as restaurants near theatres on Mirvish website -Chicken cutlet was fresh and crisp but pasta sauce was lacking in flavour, very bland- had fried calamari as an appetizer - rather limpy rather than crispy fried and quite salty - Roast beef from buffet was tender but accompaniements were kind of lacking - no salad included in buffet on this night. Was disappointed - would not return - pasta at Spaghetti Factory much tastier.

We stopped here for dinner before the Leaf game. The server seemed a bit disjointed however others stepped in an helped her out. The service was good, food was good and we were out in time to see the game with lots of time left. We were not rushed to eat but the server was aware we had another place to be. I'll be back ............ I do wish they had hot peppers in oil not just the chili pepper flakes..

have been to JB's many times in the past...but this visit was very disappointing. Starting with the food. The sweet potato/carrot soup was actually quite good but the Caesar salad was completely waterlogged, the lettuce obviously take directly from a bowl of water to the serving plate without being spun, and the dressing tasteless. No fewer than 5 people asked us how our meal was to the point of being extremely annoying. The couple beside us actually commented to the hostess that it was annoying and the response from a non-waiter was simply that they really do care. And then when it was time to pay...do you think I could find anyone to take my $$...waited forever.

The service was excellent. The two things I would mention that hindered the night were the fact that the tables (in the back room) were so close together that I thought at times I was dining with the people at the next table. Tables are way too close together. When the waiter has to pass your food/water etc across the table to you then you know it is a tight squeeze. Also, I would think because it is so crowded I found the noise level was bothersome.

Food and service service were so good the first night we were there that we came back the next night to try some of the other entrees that had looked good the previous evening. Service again was great. This time no hockey game. Everything was done in a prompt and courteous fashion with no mistakes and excellent timing between courses. The wait staff was very friendly. I had the lasagne which was some of the best I have ever had. My wife had the gnocchi which she loved. This place is definitely a find.

We didn't know our time was competing with the diners coming in advance of the hockey game. The wait staff was very busy but still was friendly and provided all of our orders in a timely manner. The place cleared out after about 7:00. Overall, the food and service were excellent and we plan on returning again tonight, just later than the hockey crown. Kudos to the management to be able to manage the onslaught of guests with time pressure before the game.

We had to wait 45 minutes for what one would have thought to have been an easy meal to prepare (pizza and pasta). We then had only 15 minutes to eat in order to make it to the Leaf game on time. Although our server was polite and professional, the food wasn't worth the wait.

Love Joe Badali's the food was hot and delicious. We have been there before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I brought a couple of friends with me and they loved the food. One friend was a Celiac and she was impressed with your gluten free options. She said the dish was very good. We had dessert for the first time and it was ok. There is definitely room for improvement on the dessert menu. We had the cheese cake that was a little dry. We also had the apple spice pie was a little blah. It came with a lemon sauce of some kind it would have been nice with a scope of ice cream or even a bit of caramel sauce.

I went with a small group of co-workers and we've been many times. Tonight was just off for some reason. It started off great with a beverage at the bar and a very attentive and knowledgeable bartender. Then we were seated. The service was OK but not what we are used to there (even AFTER the mass exodus of people for the game). My veal was tough and chewy as was my colleague's. Maybe just an off night?

We usually go to this place when we are in Toronto. We were with a group this time, down to see Cirque de Soleil. The food was mediocore this time around. Two of our group had the spaghetti and meatballs and found it to be not bad, one person had the pork tenderloin and didn't like it at all. My veal marsala was good. The waiter struggled to answer a lot of questions, espeically about the cocktails. I think we might find a new haunt when we stay on Front Street.

I reserved a table as my relatives were coming from out of province for a get together. I had been here in th epast and was pleased, However, our table was not ready for us, so we had to wait for them to find another. All but one of the 7 meals were overdone, not hot, or missing items. The waitress did not smile once the whole time and seemed generally unhappy to be there serving us. Management removed the items from the bill and gave us two deserts so we appreciated this gesture. However, our meal was pretty much a failure all round and most of our table didn't end up eating at all as it took so long to be served the first time. I would not recommend Joe's in the future.

They were very accommodating this way so we made reservations for supper for after the ball game. We both enjoyed everything we ordered and were very satisfied with the portions. The evening meal was also enjoyable but the service was not quite as good as it had been at lunch. Overall the food was good and the prices were reasonable. Great coffee.
