I thought I'd try something new in the Lincoln Center area and all six of us agreed that this was a great choice. Joanne's meatballs appetizer was delicious, as was the macaroni and cheese with shrimp and scallops -- spectacular [loaded with calories, LOL!] Others enjoyed the special salmon, chicken dishes, chicken parmigiana etc. Everyone was so full that nobody ordered dessert. Big portions, plenty of wine. The special cocktails for 17 dollars may not be so great, however. Very pleasant and efficient waitstaff. Place gets quite crowded but the noise level is never too bad. Very glad we went here and will definitelky go again!

Used a gilt city voucher. Had a decent meal. Meatballs are good. Wasn't into the spinach dip or steak entree but my chicken parm was classic. Good deal with voucher. Otherwise. Nothing too fancy.

I try to make it a point of eating here at least 1-2 times a month. The service is always on point. The meals are delicious, fresh and leave me content. The chef is hands down one of the best bakers for desserts. Never a bad time at JoAnne!!

Pre NYCB dinner. Many choices, a few specials also priced above most menu items. Shared a Caesar salad , came in bowl, not divided, used our bread plates and forks to divide.. Unremarkable as was the bread and butter in foil pats. Had to track down a server(they were running all over except when you needed something!) for fresh ground pepper. Had a chopped clam pie, didn't realize it would have red sauce..okay. Friend said her fish special was okay also but not worth the higher price. First choice for wine, a Joanne Prestiage, Premium? separate smaller list of about 6 wines, not available. Lady Gaga singing with Tony Bennett was nice background to dinner...

Joanne Trattoria was a solid neighborhood Italian restaurant. The menu consisted of classic Italian-American, red sauce classics. The food was good but not great. Calamari appetizer was a standout, as was Papa G's chicken entree. Pizza had a weird crust. Pasta was a little overdone for my taste. Service was friendly but not at all polished.

The main reason we went here was because this restaurant is owned by Lady Gaga's father and named after her late aunt Joanne. The food is your typical home cooked Italian fare. I had the Chicken Parmesan and my partner the Pasta Bolognese. The red sauce is very good. The Bolognese is outstanding! I found that the Chicken was a little on the dry side, perhaps pounded out a little too thin?. The portions were more than generous and the prices were very reasonable considering this is a New York City restaurant. We had the GAGA Pinot Noir and surprisingly it was very good as well. Sadly there were no sightings of Lady Gaga on the night we were there but were serenaded by her new CD with Tony Bennett 'Cheek to Cheek'. We will be back.

My first visit to Joanne's, shortly after it opened, we pretty disappointing. I'd heard they upped their game and there were a couple good reviews so I decided to give it a second shot. If anything, it was not as good as the first time. The food has all the flare of Chef Boyardee cooking at a country club. While not inedible exactly, it's pretty much tasteless gullet-filling fare that would embarrass Olive Garden. The space is very cozy and the location is great. It's too bad the food doesn't measure up.

It never fails that Joanne Trattoria has the best food. Whether it is the calamari appetizer or the chicken parmesan with homemade noodles for a main course you'll always leave feeling full but wanting more. Just when you think the best is done they bring out their desserts (all but the red velvet were made in house)! Each week the chef makes his own frozen treats that can only be had in the restaurant.

We went for dinner and were seated at a lousy table by a very pleasant host. Service was competent but lackluster. The free bread was stale and tasteless so we ordered foccaccia that was even worse, tasteless and undercooked. The salads were uninspired, often consisting of 2 ingredients only, e.g., lettuce and tomato. My wife's broccoli rabe was sitting in a pool of oil. But the highlights of the meal was the delicious sausage (hot and sweet) and the sauce covering the lasagna, which was plentiful. We ended with cappuccino, which was hot and frothy, a treat. We won't be back despite the strong few dishes on the menu.

I thought the restaurant was not very profesionally operated. We had to ask for bread and it was was 2 slices on a saucer. My chicken parmagione was dry and the edges of the chicken were burnt black. The sauce was horrible. The kind you would find in a cheap brand in a super market. My ceaser salad contained 3 or 4 anchovies just sitting there in the salad. The prices were very high for what we got and frankly I|ve had better meals at my local diner.

Good reasonably priced restaurant near Lincoln Center. Eggplant "meatballs" as an appetizer were very tasty and light. Buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes was another good appetizer. Husband liked the special of squid ink pasta with seafood. Chicken Milanese with arugula was fine but nothing special. Overall, good value before a performance at Lincoln Center. Wines/drinks seemed relatively higher priced than the food.

If you get there early, you have your pick of tables. Been twice for lunch, wait staff (Mikey) so eager to please and professional. Food is delicious! The fact that Lady Gaga's father owns the place may be a draw for some tourists, but as a New Yorker who often dines out, I say Joanne stands on its own!

Yes, we dined there because of Gaga & because we're huge fans. But that turned out to be quite irrelevant. The decoration is very nice & the restaurant is cosy. In winter I'm sure they light the fireplace which must be perfect. However, the quality of the food was disappointing. Not the best pizza we've tried and certainly not the best risotto. Moreover, there were no vegetarian options so i ended up having linguini with some fried vegetables that I could have cooked better in my kitchen. Last but not least, if you are looking for a quiet dining experience, you won't find it there. It can't get any louder in there, believe me. We visit NY frequently and we'd looked forward to dine at Joanne but I'm afraid we were very disappointed.

I have been to Joanne's twice, the first time the food was quite good. The second time, we ordered the fresh pasta and we got NOT fresh pasta. It was regular dried spaghetti in a radicchio sauce that might have been ok with a little parmesan (which did improve it somewhat). I know I could make that better myself, because I would at least taste it to make sure it had some flavor. We pointed out to the waitress that the pasta wasn't fresh and she gave us a complementary dessert, but frankly neither one of our choices was very good. The ricotta cheesecake was ok, but had very little flavor, but the cannelloni tasted stale and was stuffed with unsweetened ricotta. I have had good cannelloni, this wasn't.

Unpretentious, with reasonable entrée prices. In this neighborhood, very hard to find. You'll get hit with prices of extras, like salad and dessert, drink prices. But if you enjoy well-prepared Italian food, not your red sauce variety, this is a cozy place to go either before a Lincoln Center performance or not. We were there early so don't know how noisy it gets later on in the evening.
