A word from JJ Astor
Welcome to JJ Astor (located on the 16th floor of the Radisson Hotel Duluth), where guests enjoy welcoming service, inspired décor, modern approachability, unparalleled views, and signature dishes.
We have created a contemporary menu utilizing sustainable produce from local farmers and fresh fish from local fishermen.

Whether settling into the oversized armchairs in the lounge, or admiring the view from the inviting sofa style banquettes, the restaurant provides a memorable dining experience for locals and visitors alike.

Authentic portraits, blueprints, and photography from Duluth’s past adorn the teak panels located throughout the restaurant. While the most stunning view is undoubtedly the view of Lake Superior, the interiors also paint a captivating picture of their own.

  • "If I were to have any option for dining out in Duluth, JJ Astor would be my choice. Perfect dinner, beautiful views, and great service."

  • "Went to Duluth for a romantic getaway and JJ Astors fit the bill to a T! Spectacular View !! 5 Stars doesn't seem enough!. Food was superb, ee had the Lobster Fettecini and Chicken Angel Hair Pasta with a cream sauce. We went around 7:00 and were able to enjoy the day time view in to the sunset and we even got the beautifu night time scene. So beautiful!! Would recommentd to everyone."

  • "We were at JJ on half price for a bottle of wine night. when I got home I noticed that I had been charged the full price. I was glad that I tried the wine as it was Wonderful BUT i felt cheated when I saw the Bill."

  • "A terrible disappointment. While having the most spectacular views in the city, The rest disappointed on every level. It feels like a tired, old supper club, with an unimaginative overpriced ala carte menu and very limited selection. I had the Ribeye, for $34. It was soggy, tough, and flavorless. It was a tired old retired dairy cow, not premium beef. It was prepared medium, but had that gray, I've been frozen, center. For the poor quality, it should have been hidden under a flavorful sauce. The carrots were drown in butter, and the puréed potatoes were greasy and garlicky. My husbands meatloaf was flavorful, but overpriced. Overall, a travesty. The potential for this place is unlimited, and it's squandered on no creativity at all. Avoid!!!"

  • "It offers good food, low noise, nice atmosphere, great view, and moderate prices. And the martini glass arrives filled to the brim."

  • "We came for brunch last month and liked it so much we returned this weekend to treat a guest. The views are wonderful, the interior spacious and pleasing. The plentiful, well prepared and attractively presented food was courteously and promptly served, the coffee excellent, and the prices reasonable. We will definitely go back."

  • "The food was out of this world, every morsel, every crumb, every bite was heaven in your mouth! From the first course to the last course and the bottle of fine wine we shared, everything was spectacular! The service definitely will also make me come back! Our waiter, Jermey was phenomenal! Cared for us to every need and always made sure everything was perfect, without making you feel rushed or crowed! So to that, Jermey, well done! Long story short, J.J. Astor's is definitely worth the money, the visit and the time to experience its 5 star excellence!"

  • "Our server Candice was fantastic. The view was great. The food was excellent. I had the fillet and my wife had the pork tenderloin. Both were excellent quality and great flavors. Loved the potato puree and the green bean side dishes. The blackberry salad, which we shared, was also excellent. Really an overall great experience. The price is not cheap, but it is very on par for a restaurant of this quality."

  • "The views were amazing, especially with Bentleyville all lit up! We had the pecans and chicken skewers for apps and they were delish, we ended up ordering a second order of pecans. I cannot remember what my date had for an entree (chicken? pork?) but it was really good. I had the meatloaf and I would not recommend it. My side dishes were excellent but the meatloaf reminded me of canned dog food. The texture was weird. I talked to my best friend about my dinner later and she had the meatloaf when she was there (I should have asked her prior to my visit) and she thought the same thing. So go and enjoy the view and the great food...just don't order the meatloaf."

  • "We dine out frequently, and I can't recall having a meal that has been better than this. Our Entrees were truly outstanding, and the knowleadgeable and friendly service made it even better. We've never been disappointed here, but this evening was extraordinary."

  • "Parking was very easy to find in the parking ramp behind the hotel. Initially, service was slow, but once the restaurant host appeared, he promptly found our reservation and quickly seated us. The remainder of the service was wonderful and the food was amazing. All food was prepared just right, the portion sizes were great, timing was wonderful and our server was very knowledgeable about the food and happy to offer suggestions when prompted. French toast was the best. Steak was cooked to perfection. Our 15 year old really enjoyed the pasta selections. Awesome experience! Can't wait to go back. Must try the dinner menu!"

  • "My boyfriend and I had a 9:15 reservation on New Years Eve. Service was quick (although the server could have been a little more friendly and personable), food was great, and it was a fun spot to celebrate our first New Years together in our new city! I never leave JJ Astor's disappointed."

  • "Food was fantastic. Its nice to order something different and enjoy it. My daughter ordered the oysters as an appetizer and they were a wonderful introduction to food that is outside the mainstream. We had a coupon from the Rotary that we were eventually allowed to use after some uncomfortable moments between the waitress and us. The coupon said nothing about not being valid on a holiday. Im thinking that, if I am the manager, I am taking the time to come out to the table instead of putting the waitress in the middle of that mess. Its just good customer service. The waitress was simply delightful."

  • "Our waitress was great, the food was outstanding and the restaurant despite it being 8pm on New Years and somewhat busy was very low-key. My date loved the food and was deeply impressed."

  • "First off, the bartender made an excellent "old fashioned" cocktail (a dying art). The constantly changing view is spectacular. The noise level allowed normal conversation, without straining to hear or needing to raise our voices. The tables are separated by several feet, so guests are not constantly bumping their chairs into each other. The staff was friendly, yet unobtrusive. Those are things that make the slightly higher prices worth it. There are other restaurants in the Twin Ports with larger menus and wine lists or better food. Not being packed in like cows in a cattle car and being forced to listen to drunken bullies, cackling phony laughter, and screaming brats having a melt down at nearby tables made JJ Astor a pleasant surprise."

  • "JJ Astor is a really good restaurant. The food is very well prepared, and plate presentation is top notch. Service is always good, with very helpful staff. A top the Radisson Restaurant on a turning platform, 1 hour and you have seen all of Duluth. Truely spectacular views any time of year. I have eaten many times at JJ Astor, with excellent food, food choices and great service. I once had my Neice's birthday there. Once the staff figured out that we were having a birthday, one person stayed with us the whole time. When food was served for the 16 of us, event the Manager served us to get all the food out to us hot. They even made a special Birthday sunday for by Neice, nice touch. Great restaurant, great view, Just try it!"

  • "Our son is a chef so we know great food and service. We were not disappointed at JJ Astor as we celebrated our anniversary there. Excellent service and perfectly prepared food."

  • "Selected this restaurant because family is visiting and not much open on Christmas eve - thought a hotel restaurant would be. We were pleasantly surprised. Well thought out menu, and the food was superbly prepared. JJ Astor is now a deliberate choice rather than a default destination. Our server was outstanding - professional, knew the menu in detail, and was personable yet very professional. If I had one suggestion it would be to add a children-friendly dish or two to the dinner menu - e.g., mac & cheese, a burger, etc."

  • "The appetizers always surprise me when they come out because you get so very little that it's barely a side let alone a appetizer. I always tell myself after getting one that I will not do it again. Love the view of Duluth and the ambience is great. Food is delicious and only bummed that the appetizers seem to be so very little."

  • "Everything about JJ Astor was wonderful. You can't beat the location. Spinning at one revolution every 72 minutes, your table will revolve around the entire windowed perimeter during a standard meal time. The view is amazing. Every table has this incredible view. The food was prepared perfectly and we enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever experienced. The service and ambiance were also great. Very highly recommended for any occasion but especially for a special occasion."

  • "We have always had good service at JJ Astor but the waitress took service to the next level by providing wine samples of two wines we were picking from. The food in our group of four was cooked perfectly. And as always the views were stunning."

  • "This was our first time dining at JJ Astor. We made a special trip up from Minneapolis and dining here was a wonderful experience. The food was deliciously prepared... we split the scallop appetizer, and I ordered the salmon, my husband got the duck. We enjoyed the rotating restaurant and the ambiance most of all. It was a bit pricey, but great for any special event or occasion."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at JJ Astor. The view was tremendous as it was a nice clear night. Our waitress was great as was the food I had the ribeye and my wife had the salmon. I would highly recommend the restaurant."

  • "Typically restaurants that spin cater to tourists and get by with mediocre food because of their great view. This restaurant is the rare exception with truly exceptional dining along with the amazing view of Lake Superior and Duluth. It's a nice, fancy place but relaxed as well. My teenage daughter said she had the greatest steak of her life and my son wolfed down his salmon. He even liked the brussell sprouts and bacon side dish. My duck was good as well."
    Dined on 10/19/2013
  • "The view is fantastic as the dining room revolves and Lake Superior activity is enjoyed. The only minus is they apparently are not prepared for such things as a birthday cake. Our waitress did scrape up a candle which she then placed on a purchased dessert. The view, though, is amazing!"

  • "My sister, brother and I had a great dinner here. We had attentive service without too many interruptions and the food was wonderful. Everything exceeded expectations. I have eaten in this restaurant over the last 40 years (many different incarnations) and without a doubt the food and service finally match the spectacular 360 degree rotating view of Duluth. I would recommend this to anyone. We also had a wonderful breakfast the following morning. The granola, yogurt and fruit were exceptional, I enjoyed my orange scented french toast with cinnamon butter and pecans and they were very accomodating in making adjustments to meet my brother's vegetarian restrictions. I will definitely return as soon as I get the chance."
