Aloha and welcome to Jimmy's Island Grille & Crab House, our new restaurant is owned by Jimmy Chinn and we specialize in Jet Fresh Seafood, a large selection of Crab and prime steaks! We also offer chicken, chops, and a children's menu. Try one of our signature dishes like our famous Crab Vermicelli or our popular Louisiana Blue Crab claws or our new Tunacado appetizer!

We are open for lunch and dinner and offer outdoor seating!

  • "Nice dining experience with great food--1.25lb Maine Lobster. My wife enjoyed the side salad but I wish I could say the same for the Clam Chowder. The Clams in the Chowder were high quality but the cream chowder was just that a flat cream with no taste(they need to taste Oak Brook Giordano's Chowder to get an idea). The Lobsters were of good size and the red potatoes matched well with the meal--a cob of corn would have set the meal at the superb level. One disturbing thing was the owner kept walking about the dining area overlooking the whole scene but rarely made contact if any with the diners."

  • "This was my first time at this restaurant and I was warmly greeted, the waitstaff was attentive and the food was delicious. There were four of us for lunch and their menu was just printed up with so many choices, we all decided to try something different. Their seafood is excellent and the creative spin on the presentation was not overdone, but pleasing to the eye and the taste buds. What a great find."

We had a reservation and, though there were many empty tables ready for diners, we had to wait 5 minutes for a table in the bar at 6:30 on a Friday night. The food took a long time to arrive at our table and the waitstaff was not very attentive. We had a Groupon to try it and we're very glad we did. Menu options were very pricey and I wouldn't go back except for a gumbo/salad lunch because we are on a budget. I've had a better experience (food/service) for less."

  • "We were excited to try a new local place and were disappointed on every level. Service wasn't great. Most of the dishes we had were bland. The seafood entrees were overpriced (in the $27 range for a small piece of fish, boring side, pulverized coleslaw and veggies would have been an additional side dish / not included). We told the manager and he was apologetic, but told us several times that they "never get this kind of feedback" - although we noticed two other dining parties while we were there having some sort of exchanges with staff that appeared to be related to issues.)"

  • "Really enjoyed the food. Had the soup bisque and the blacked scottish salmon. Both were excellent. The service could have been better. Had to wait at hostess stand when we first arrived, not because of long line, but rather no hostess was there. Our waiter was accommodating when we asked questions about menu, but could of offered up suggestion that the salad my wife ordered was for 2. It came out with 2 wedges on it, clearly meant to be shared. The other service piece was it took quite awhile for our entrees to come out. Overall food was all great, but don't be in a hurry."

  • "Tho the waitress was a sweet as could be, food was overpriced & not worth the trip. Stuffed "jumbo" shrimp (w/fettucine alfredo) were supposed to be stuffed with the same blue crab cake mixture as their crab cakes, but the stuffing was just crab & a lot of breading, bland, no seasoning at all, & instead of being broiled, the four medium size shrimp were battered &fried. Alfredo sauce was pasty & floury. At 24.95 for this dish, & supposedly a restaurant specializing in fresh seafood, a huge disappointment. The salt & pepper scallops were also fried and ok. Clam chowder ok, needed pepper & some acid (we added a squeeze of lemon). The "signature mai tai" was bitter...strange. Manager credited shrimp dish, but still we won't be going back."

  • "Food and selection were good but not as good as Chinn's in Lisle. We are a big fan of the soup. The Bisque and Clam Chowder were not as good as Chinn's. My wife had the lobster special and it was good but not as good. I had the bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp with BBQ and it was DELICIOUS. My son had an Italian noodle dish with shrimp and it had a Chinese taste. Will go back and try other things (although I would highly recommend the bacon shrimp) but I would travel down the street to Chinn's in Lisle if I had the choice."

Dinner for two including filet and crab legs with mashed potatoes and 2 drinks each cost us about $175.00. It is not what we would call romantic by any means but it was quiet and the wait staff was excellent, checking on us timely but not obtrusively. Overall, we are glad we went."

  • "My boyfriend and I visited Jimmy's for the first time using a Groupon. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious - asian-inspired salmon, crab legs, red potatoes, asparagus, and garlic rolls. Our server, however, was not very timely and not very professional either. I did not think she fit into what I thought the atmosphere of the restaurant should have been considering the high prices on the menu. If I was not using a Groupon I would have been irritated, however with the Groupon it was worth the visit."

My wife loved the sea bass and the filet I ordered was excellent and perfectly prepared. Our server was friendly and very attentive.   • "This restaurant was seriously overbooked and we had to wait over an hour past our reservation time to be seated. In addition they did not have a flasher or other system so we felt that we had to constantly check with the hostess to make sure our reservation was honored. As it was we were the first to arrive for our 7:30 reservation and the last one seated. Once we were seated the food and the service was good. We will try it again some other time when it is not so crowded."

Problem is since it was a busy holiday we had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. The food was well worth the wait though. The staff was very courteous. Will definitely come back!"

  • "We made reservations for 8:00pm. Got there at exactly 8 and still had to wait about 35 minutes. It was expected as it was Valentine's day. The hostess had no real system as to how she was seating people. It started turning into a "who complains the most gets a table" contest. We were patient and finally seated. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed which again....Valentine's day. Our oysters we're a bit gritty but overall, the food was fantastic. We'll definitely be back!"

Shrimp egg rolls where very tasteful & in my mind, what an egg tool should taste like. Claire gave us a taste of seafoo bisque that was very flavorful. I would call it a bisque,more veggies & chopped seafood,ok a bisque. Nicely done."

  • "Sat at the bar where we usually get great service, 4:30 on a Sun, very few tables, but you would have thought the bartender (who had 2, maybe 3 tables, one of them leaving) was taking care of the whole place. He was friendly, but very disorganized. He asked us if we wanted a drink, we did, but I made the mistake of asking for a drink list, and then we didn't get to order for 8 minutes. We were the only ones sitting at the bar except for a manager and another employee. Garlic rolls are very gd, but took a long time to get. If u r watching your weight, careful as I ordered a char-grilled fish that was excellent except for the excessive oil I soaked off with the paper napkins, and the green beans were oiled as well. Go back? Yes"

  • "Jimmy's was a real surprise. The menu was very diverse with prices from the from the $15 to $50 range which makes it a spot you can stop for a sandwich or a full dinner. The food is excellent and the server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The wine list was excellent and the choices by glass were well thought out. Started with the Wedge salad which was more than enough for two, as suggested by our waitress. The swordfish was well prepared,(I chose to have mine blackened) and the spinach was an excellent complement. Not sure why they have to charge $2 extra. Had the Coconut Cake for dessert which was quite enjoyable. Jimmy came to every table to ensure everything was acceptable and you felt he'd have fixed it if not."

  • "Large stone crab was served without fork or cracker, so very messy to eat and not large enough to justify price. Tunacado appetizer was very good though. Drinks are also very good here. Stay away from the garlic dinner rolls unless you want a bad taste in your mouth for the rest of the night. Gumbo was ok. 1.5 lb lobster was a great price. Probably wouldn't go back for dinner, but would for drinks and appetizers."

  • "The food was awesome. We had two appetizers. the blue point oysters were exceptional and I think it was called a tunarola, raw tuna on top of avocado on top of fried wontons stacked about the size of a large soup can was different and very tasty. Our main entrees were pasta itailiano, shrimp, mussels, salmon, whitefish, scallops in pasta with a cream sauce, Australian lamb chops and Mcadamia encrusted mahi mahi were all excellent. We finished off the meal with cream puffs, key lime pie and coconut cake. All this, plus a round of drinks, and the bill was under $200. Exceptional food and a reasonable price, tough to beat."
