This was our first visit to Jimmys. We knew he was related to Chinn's on 34 and Chinns Crab House in Wheeling, so we expected excellent food and we were not disappointed. From king crab to filet mignon to stuffed shrimp, everything was delicious! Jimmy visited our table and was warm and gracious. It is definitely and "adult" restaurant. I was pleased to not have kids running around and making a noisy mess. We will definitely be back.

We had a reservation for 7:00 on Saturday night. It was not crowded. That should have been our first sign. The smell of fish was overwhelming - that should have been our second sign. We asked for a booth. There were three booths open, no one at the bar waiting, but we were told there was not a booth available and we could wait at the bar. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes without one bartender asking for our drink order. We got up to leave and ask we were walking out, the hostess and her partner thanked us for dining with them and hoped we would be back soon. Fat chance!

Costs for same exact items at Chinns 34 are more expensive. Hawaiian Monching was way more as were blue crab claws. Poor crab selection due to no live tank. We got the fresh King crab and it was outstanding but that was the only crab choice. Rolls were good but needed more garlic and seasoning. I got the coconut cake to bring home. While the cake was good, I wasn't sure what the middle layer was? It didn't have a lot of flavor. All and all it was a good meal but I would rather go to Chinns 34 in Lisle, pay less, have more options and get a better meal.

Early Saturday reservation (6:15 p.m.) so the place had many open tables when we arrived. Hostess seated us in the bar area--despite all the available tables in the dining area. We requested and were re-seated in the dining area. Waitress was pleasant, but very slow. Had to ask for water glasses to be refilled, and she brought my glass of wine after being reminded. She fawned over the table next to us and gave them a $10 off coupon to return. She spent more time validating all her years of restaurant experience to the tables near us than actually waiting on people. Food was decent, but higher priced than Chinn's 34th Street Fishery. I would rather drive to Lisle for the better service and prices than return.

I had the living social deal of two cold water lobster tails, steak, and a drink for 2. The food was delicious and so was the drink (Pog). The Blackhawks were playing so there was a party. We sat in the private dining area but it was still noisy. It wasn't a problem though, especially since we won the game. Overall, the experience was nice and I plan to return. The menu looks great!

If you like fresh fish, this is the place for you! Extensive menu, bar and wine list in a casual atmosphere. Good for date night as well as family or friend outings. Each of the 3 in our party had something different (one beef, two seafood) and thought they were superbly prepared and presented. Substantial portions. We'll be back!

I've been to Jimmy's many times, and the food and service improve each time I'm there. I had blackened salmon on this visit, and the blackened seasonings were perfect. I had tried blackened grouper on an earlier visit, and the seasoning wasn't very spicy. This time, it had just the right kick! My guest had macadamia encrusted mahi, and it was buttery and smooth. Both entrees came with coleslaw and a choice of side. We both had the green beans. Delicious and garlicky! The atmosphere is cosmo with a very nice island feel. Oh, and you'll be sorry if you pass up the Mai tai and garlic rolls!!!

The food and service at Jimmy's is top notch. It is on the expensive side, however. This was our second visit. We were very pleased on both visits. The only down side is that the restaurant has been nearly empty both times although we tend to dine earlier than most. We enjoy Jimmy's and hope that it will prosper. Don't know how they advertise or promote the restaurant. We only know about it because we live in Clarendon Hills.

I think that the food was borderline average. I was really disappointed with the stuffed shrimp. The fillet was OK. Those are the two foods that tell me if I would go back to a seafood restaurant as well as fresh oysters, but I did not have the oysters. But the martinis were fantastic. I would go back more for the bar than the food. There are many other places I'd rather go to for good seafood and/or surf and turf. Everyone there are very attentive the the needs of the customers. No problem in that area. It's probably a good neighborhood hang out.

There were four of us for dinner on Saturday and the food and service was excellent. I had the Seafood Gumbo (which I've had before and love) and the salt & pepper shrimp appetizer, my wife had the macadamia crusted mahi - both dishes were flavored perfectly and were excellent. Our friends had the lobster (only the shell survived the dinner) and the salmon and they enjoyed that as well. I would definitely recommend Jimmy's if you are out in the Western Suburbs.

Although they have spacious booths by the bar, there is a world of difference in the ambience from the far half of the restaurant that has a much more tropical feel. Also, a different waitress, instead of the charming one we had the first time was a disappointment. Food was still good but it was only 7 on a Saturday and they were out of our first 4 choices! We were told they only had 2 bottles of pineapple cider when they had started the evening so it wasn't just the catch that was the issue.

The staffer that helped us was Le-Ann and she was a true gem as she made our special day even better. She explained the menu to us as we spoke about the Chinn family. She could make anybody feel welcome to this place. The food here was as great as the other Chinn family places we go to, but this place is much closer to home so thank you. The hostess was very pleasant. The Florida grouper was as good as I get in Florida. We liked the choices of sides. The prices are reasonable. Jimmy, the owner, came by our table to introduce himself and made certain we were enjoying the meal and the surroundings. The waitress was very accommodating. We are going back and will take the family since we were impressed by the choices of food that were available.

Just like Bob Chinn's in Wheeling and the 34th Street Fishery in Lisle, Jimmy Chinns place does not disappoint. Maybe it doesn't have the cosiness for the highly romantic dinner but the seafood is outstanding. The garlic rolls to start with and of course the Chinn family Mai Tais never disappoint. Jimmy was an excellent host as he stops by every table to ensure all is well with your dinner. The waiter was a bit slow but not overbearingly slow. The bill came without the coupon discount taken off and had to be re-done. If you want fresh seafood and fish in the near western suburbs, Jimmy's Island Grill in Westmont is definitly the place to go.

My wife likes of Bob Chinn’s Crab House and was happy to learn that Jimmy is Bob’s brother. We shared a salad, which was very good and came in two small square bowls with separate dressings. Lobster is one of my wife’s favorites and she was not disappointed. The filet was cooked as ordered, flavorful and was so tender that a knife really wasn’t necessary. We both had the fried rice as the side dish, which was a nice change of pace and well worth ordering again. The key lime pie that we shared for dessert was excellent and easily one of the best available in this area. All in all, it was an excellent meal. Add in a server who was friendly and provided top notch service, and it was highly recommendable. We will definitely be back.

Possibly the best sea food in the Chicago suburbs. We frequent the Reel Club and McCormick & Schmicks as well. Jimmy's fish is so much better. Great king crab legs; great fried shrimp; superb mahi, grouper, halibut, you name it; delicious oysters Rockefeller. They're all good. Can't understand the crowds at the pathetically mediocre Pappadeaux when Jimmy's is just down Pasquinelli Drive. No comparison.

Jimmy's keeps getting better. We've been 4-5 times now, both for Lunch and Dinner, and the service has gotten to the point that you feel you're at a downtown steakhouse. My kids were amazed how often someone came by to refill water, take away empty plates, bring more rolls, etc. Our server did an excellent job of taking care of us, making everything extremely easy. We used a LivingSocial deal and weren't made to feel like 2nd class citizens but in fact were surprised how flexible they were and what a great value it ended up being. My 15 year old said it was the best steak he'd ever had (and he's had a lot of steaks).

We enjoy sitting outside for dinner. However, there was a group of about 8 men sitting outside in the Tiki bar. They were very loud and obnoxious. We were able to move one table over which helped. The Mahi Mahi was very good, crab cakes were bland, green beans were delicious. Our waitress was very friendly. Food was a bit pricey but I would go again.

Went on Sat. night with friends. At outside, yes you overlook the parking lot but they have planted pretty flowers that block the view and the weather was perfect and we were happy to be outside. The service was fabulous, drinks, food, all came quickly. Many, including the mgmt. checked on us frequently to make sure all was well. I had the soft shell crabs, the men had the special fish of the day and my friend had the lobster tails. All we delicious and perfectly cooked. We also started the evening out with Mai Tais. Felt like I was back in Hawaii. We will definitely return. The fish is flown in fresh daily and you can tell.

I have to say the food was really good. I was disappointed with the atmosphere. On line it looked to be this vibrant fun restaurant. We thought we'd be coming to this great outdoor "patio" with music playing. The outdoor seating was just along the sidewalk so disappointed with that. Felt like more of your average family greek restaurant. Loved the food but I'm about both - food & atmosphere. Probably wouldn't go back.
