Steps away from 30th St. Station, charming rustic pergola creates an intimate atmosphere within the sweeping lobby of the Cira complex. Glad we had a reservation for a busy Wednesday lunch hour, as the place was packed. Beet salad with the grilled chicken breast was excellent; interesting mix of flavors in the salad topped by perfectly juicy chicken. Tuna melt tasty, chicken and broccoli rabe pesto panini savory and fresh. Coffee here is excellent. I would recommend this place, and would go there again.

I always have the same difficult decision - burger or salad?? I know, silly. Both are delicious. This visit I went with the chopped salad with shrimp. The shrimp was grilled to perfection! This salad was filling and Delish. Of course I had to have fries too!!

I was part of a group of 6 people for a lunch meeting. The convenient location of J.G. Domestic made it possible for each of us to get there, have our luncheon meeting and get away again very easily and saved us all a lot of time. We had people from the suburbs, from New Jersey and from New York, and all but one of us was able to get there by train. The noise level was too high, primarily from music that was blasting from speakers, rather than from other groups. That made conversation difficult. On the other hand, the staff was responsive when we complained, although the music continued to be on the loud side. The selection of food was very limited, but the quality was good. The staff were attentive and responded quickly to requests.

Nothing really "special" or "offensive" about the restaurant. A typical lunch menu with fast service. Its greatest virtue may be its proximity to Union Station and the 2929 Arch Street complex. More of an office place than a place for a business lunch (which was my purpose.)

Although one of the top dining spots I've hit in Philly, much easier to get a table than most. Even the simple dishes like salads had some unique taste or effect and the ingredients were amazingly fresh. Much of what is served could be considered up-scale bar food (try the homemade pickles!) but the ingredients and preparation will please the most sophisticated, discerning food critic.

This restaurant is perfect if someone is traveling by train and you want to see them before they leave or when they arrive. There seemed to be lots of business meetings going on but it was perfect for a social meeting, too. The sandwiches were very good and the service was extremely attentive.

I've been here more times than I can count, but this time was a disappointment. We went early at lunch time, so it wasn't too busy when we got there. The new floor manager seemed like she had stumbled into a new restaurant. The kitchen manager disappeared so at one point, Nathan, our server, had to call out orders to the kitchen. Our food was only barely warm, but I was on a tight scheduled so we didn't send it back. Even the beignets were barely warm, accompanied by a new blood orange sauce instead of the bourbon sauce. The blood orange sauce was a little cloying and overly sweet. It's usually better than this.

About once a month I'm forced to eat lunch here because it's the only place in the Cira Centre for a lunch meeting. My biggest complaint is that the music is played at evening bar scene levels, making it difficult to have a conversation. I asked 4 separate times if the music volume could be reduced slightly and each time I was assured that the manager would do it. This never happened and I gave up. After lunch I moved into the lobby and even there the music was too loud to make phone calls. The first person that I tried to reach complained that she couldn't hear me over the music.

My friend and I both wanted to get a salad with either shrimp or salmon. They ran out of both shrimp and salmon. The waitress did not know this until she had to come back and twice tell us that they didn't have the food for our order. They did give us a complimentary appetizer in apology. Overall the food was good, but I don't know that I would go out of my way to eat there again. It was convenient as we came in to 30th St. station.

Too noisy for a business discussion and the service was poor. The server forgot to bring one entree. The food was mediocre and I found a piece of plastic in my salad. They took that item off the bill but it took away my appetite. They should have made the entire meal free.

I've been going to JG for years and the last few times the food and service have been terrible. I made reservations with a friend, ordered the classic burger medium and was brought RAW. My friend finished her meal before my second burger was returned and I had to ask for utensils. Not sure if I'll ever return. It's been a hit or miss. Not sure if they have new cooks or otherwise, but if it wasn't for the wait staff, don't think I could return again.

My first time at JG- meeting an old friend on a train stopover from 30th Street Station. Requested a quiet table so we could catch up on the 9 years since we got together last. They seated us in a private booth back by the stairs- fantastic- holding the table even though we were a half hour late (train was delayed). Our meal was delicious- I had gazpacho presented in a square bowl with a hazelnut brittle and chopped strawberries for garnish, followed by a delectable meatloaf on cheddar grits. My friend had a seafood soup and turkey panini. Beignets with butterscotch sauce for dessert. YUMMY! Our server was fabulous, and I never felt hurried at all- we stayed for 2-1/2 hours. It was a memorable meal in a beautiful venue! THANKS!

I had requested a quiet table for my boss and his colleague. They got a nice quiet table in the corner and had plenty of room to spread out their papers and files. I suggested this place to my boss and he really liked it. I believe that this is his 3rd or 4th time eating at JG Domestic. He said that it is a really nice place. He is a vegetarian and loves the food also. He had reservations for 11:30am and stayed until about 4:30pm. It is very conveniently located right near the train station and has ample parking. Every time he is in Philly, he always dines at JG Domestic.

The flatbread and Luna Farms Salad were delicious! The meatloaf was lukewarm and way too salty. The grits looked and tasted like glue and were cold. Our server never once asked how anything was, she only interacted with us to try to sell us more ie: another glass of wine, dessert, coffee etc. Very disappointing for a Garces restaurant!

Came here for lunch after a mid-day show, and was pleasantly surprised. I've been impressed with all of JG's places, but had heard mixed things about this location. We had a lovely lunch, without excessive noise (a rarity), a comfortable and roomy space, good service, and the best surprise - the Village Whiskey burger - without having to wait an hour at the 20th st location. Another standout was the bourbon biegnet. I would definitely come back for dinner or happy hour.

The only complaint was that I mentioned, in my online reservation request, that one of our party was vegan. When she ordered her salad, it had to be sent back because the dressing had egg in it. (One other minor complaint, the plants that were hanging over our table needed watering - badly!)

Unusual experience for lunch on 10.03.2013 at J.G. Domestic... Our waitress was friendly and introduced herself quickly. We were never served all of our items together... We ordered appetizers (2), meals (3) and beverages (3) and all were brought to us at separate times. It's awkward to begin eating your lunch when your companions have not yet rec'd their meals. Overall, our food was good. One note - We ordered the 'House Made Pickles' as one appetizer and we we very surprised to receive an order of pickled vegetables (kale and carrots). While they vegetables were not bad, they certainly were not the 'pickles' we were expecting. And one final note - it shouldn't take 10 minutes (no lie!) to get a take-home box.
