  • "I was surprised ro find a very LOUD Happy Hour on a Thursday evening. The noise from the crowd spilled over into the dining area and made conversation difficult at best. We were seated in one of the comfy booths....otherwise we would not have been able to hear one another. The menu selections are fabulous...I wanted a taste of everything, but chose the crab salad starter and the swordfish entree. Both extra special! Our server seemed new and was not quite attentive. Overall it was a good experience, not quite the great one that we have experienced previously."

  • "In Tom Schaudel style, a fine dining experience was delivered. For those who are not familiar, his restaurants always deliver a 5 star dinner sometimes at a fairly pricey check especially if you like your cocktails (about 150-200) for a couple, but is definitely worth the experience. This evening we had the marinated tuna, baby brussel spout salad, veal chop, lamb shank, lemon cheesecake and pistachio gelato cake along with classic martinis. All were excellent...could not find a flaw with anything. Server Lauren was very sweet and attentive. His restaurants never ever disappoint."

From beginning to end, including when the hostess called to confirm our reservation, thru the beautiful atmosphere, to the amazing food/wine and excellent service, all was wonderful. Noise level was very high but we managed."

  • "We have a tradition with our children,,we celebrate three times per yer for two birthdays at a time..we selected Jewels Sunday price fixed dinner which we have done many times in the past..we had an overall terrific experience. We were a party of 8 ,,six adults and two children age 5 and 6. Tom the owner was very kind to the children preparing simple pasta dishes for children..and showing them around the kitchen..food was well presented with one exception. The strip steak for my son in law for which there was a surcharge off the price fixed menu..Sadly he did not complain until it was too late..my wife had the exact dish and hers was excellent and well worth the charge.. There was also a problem with surcharges added to bill.but resolved"

  • "This was our third time here but the food was not up to par tonight. I had lobster risotto but the lobster was small, tough and flavorless. There was nothing to recommend this dish. My husband had braised beef, short ribs, which were dry. The sauce was okay but definitely not something I would want to go back for. Very disappointed in the meal."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful , the hostess all to casual attire is a stark contrast from the surroundings and the well dressed business crowd. Waitstaff well trained, professional and knowledgeable. The food is plated perfectly but lacks in flavor. An ill conceived mango puree suited more for a dessert blotted out the freshness of the crab appetizer. Across the board dishes were under seasoned and lacked overall dimension."

  • "This is named right Jewel. It is a cut above. A diamond. Food is amazing and staff is very helpful. Love it. Been there 5 times since December. Would eat there once a wek if I could. They have a great price fix menu on Sunday and it offers all it's best dished! Go there. You will love it."

  • "We booked through open table. We selected the 6:15 slot because so few other times were available at the last minute. We were seated immediately and attended to by knowledgable staff. Food was timely and pretty fast but again the reservation was early. The dishes were incredible as they transformed old favorites into gourmet dishes! Really enjoyable. I did however notice that at 7:30 the dining room was only half full. Next time I'll call instead so that I can get a more accurate seating times. Definitely will return!"

  • "I had been to Jewel for lunch about two weeks ago and thought it would be an intimate dinner with my wife on date night. the left overs from my lunch was delicious. I had heard there was a nice happy hour at jewel and I am sure it was as the place was loud when we arrive about 645 for a .7 pm reservation. We were then very disappointed when the hostess seated at the table right by the door and the noise when there was ample space further back. Menu was a bit over the top compare to lunch ... And expensive entrees. I might go back for lunch; not dinner."

  • "Jewel is a great spot. Food was great. Cocktails were expertly crafted. Millionaire pizza was a revelation. However the service was definitely lacking. Our waitress was incredibly indifferent. Our courses were not timed out and def ran into one another. She made us feel like she was trying to run out of there. That being said we will def be back"

  • "MY FAMILY AND I WENT FOR THE SAINT PATRICKS DAY PRE-FIX DINNER. AFTER WE ORDERED OUR DRINKS THE WAITRESS INFORMED US THAT THEY RAN OUT OF CORNED BEEF! IT WAS 7 O'CLOCK! SHE TOLD US IT WOULD BE AT LEAST A HALF AN HOUR , THAT THE GIRL RAN OUT TO GET MORE PRE-COOKED CORNED BEEF AT THE "SUPERMARKET"! WE WERE SHOCKED THAT A PLACE LIKE JEWEL WOULD EVEN THINK ABOUT SERVING US PRE-COOKED SUPERMARKET MEAT!! WELL WHEN DINNER CAME OUT, IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! WE COULDN'T EVEN EAT THE MEAT! WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED AND LEFT HUNGRY! WE WILL DEFINETLY NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!"

  • "Upon entering Jewel I thought the ambiance and décor were breathtaking and had high expectations of the food and the service. I was wrong. I decided to get the black pasta with shrimp. It was just bland . We tried several times to get our waitress' Angie's attention. I finally flagged down a busboy to get some cheese or salt to add some flavor to my meal. At that time we decided to order another drink to not deal with getting agitated trying to get service. Since I made the arrangements for the evening I was hoping my friends were going to be pleased with their choices. They were not. Jewel seemed to overlooked the food and service but they get an A+ for Décor. I will not be dining there again but would go for cocktails."

  • "Very nice evening with friends. Very good fat tuesday dinner choices along with regular dinner menu. Cool funk band playing some nice jazz and golden old goodies ( Dr. John, anyone?) And who doesn't love Mardi Gras beads and masks...given to patrons to wear if you please. Will definitely return in the near future...definitely want to try the new sushi bar!"

  • "The food was impeccable. But the restaurant as unreasonably loud - very loud. Not just vibrant and active, but so loud you couldn't even hear people at your own table. The installation of a few acoustic ceiling tiles would do wonders. Also, two of their special cocktails ordered at the table were just undrinkable. Butterscotch something or other cocktail tasted like pure butterscotch extract."

  • "Finally made it here and glad I did. The space is gorgeous and there's a terrific sound track going. Our server could not have been lovelier and brought a new bread basket when we showed her what looked like a left over piece of pretzel bread in the original basket. Shared a scallop appetizer and soaked up the broth. Red snapper tacos were delicious, as were butternut squash lasagna and salmon with forbidden rice. And the dessert!!!!! LOVED the pistachio pound cake with pistachio ice cream, chocolate sauce and root beer float. Probably would be even better if a little warmer, but that didn't stop us. Definitely will be returning!"

  • "My wife and I ate dinner here with another couple and had a terrific experience. The food and service was superb, and we were never rushed. Do yourself a favor and order the lobster entree with the truffle risotto. Also make sure you save room for dessert--lots of interesting options that are beyond the ordinary fare at most restaurants."

  • "We ordered the beet salad for an appetizer and while we loved the mixture of the beets with the dressing, cheese and nuts, we all agreed that we prefer when the beets are not sliced so thin. The thin slicing makes it difficult to combine the ingredients into one forkful. Our main dishes were wonderfully prepared and perfectly seasoned (salmon and short ribs) with the sole flaw that the pasta dish was not cooked al dente as requested. The service was pleasant, but a trifle slow due to what appeared to be understaffing. But the food is certainly worth the wait. Best food in Long Island."

  • "I took my husband here for his birthday this past weekend. Our experience was nothing shirt of fabulous. We were not sure what to expect, as the menu is unique, however we were pleasantly satisfied with our dinner choices. My husband ate the sushi and sashimi, and said it was among the best he'd ever eaten. I ordered marinated skirt steak and it was so delicious that bit did not even need a sauce to accompany it. Our dessert was just as fabulous. We shared a flourless chocolate Nutella lava cake with coffee gelato. It was gone within minutes! Tom Shaudel knows how torun a restaurant and make diners leave with a great dining experience."

  • "I have heard about Jewel, and was looking forward to trying it. I was surprised we were able to get a reservation the same night. Our waitress was really nice, and very informative. For an appetizer my husband and I chose the crab meat with avocado. We both took some and we both grabbed the salt and pepper to season it. Although very fresh it definitely needed something more to spice it up. I ordered the tuna pizza which was amazing. My husband ordered the black squid linguini with the grilled calamari. Again it needed salt. We are not big salt users but it really was missing salt. The texture was great. It was really fresh...but absolutely bland. It was almost as if the chef forgot to season the food."

  • "I dined on Sunday 2/18/14 with my best friend. Walked in beautiful bar and elegant wine cabinet storage. Ordered starters of veal/shrimp meatballs, fig pizza, and buffalo mozzarella; meatballs just looked off I ate two of five, after taste and sauce had slight after taste, fig pizza half way decent but flooded with salt, buffalo mozzarella with veggies grilled was OK but nothing to die for. Ordered 2009 Silver Oak (best thing of the night lol) a bit pricey in comparison to prices in Manhattan or purchasing directly from Silver Oak Vineyard. Main courses Salmon with steamed Veggies and Handmade Ricotta Gnocchi. Salmon smelled off was sent back and server removed from bill. Ricotta Gnocchi was like a stew mush no texture just not good pasta!"
