A word from Jerry’s
Connected through French doors to its 12 year old catering and private party event space Corner Cooks, Jerry’s offers American cuisine with an eclectic twist. Bridget Burns turns out thoughtful, inventive and fresh dishes with specials introduced every Thursday. Fresh fish is the rule and always offered. Surprises abound. From chicken curry with French influence to the house favorite-seabass in a sweet chili broth to killer fried chicken. Lunch is all about salads (beet salads a must)and the daily trio. The granite tables were built by the owner's husband, a school teacher and craftsman and are particularly beautiful by candlelight. When Corner Cooks is not hosting a party, request seating in the fireplace room which is painted a delicious blue green color with windows overlooking Chestnut Court. A neighborhood favorite, and part of the community, Jerry’s is run with care and commitment which shows from kitchen to table.Continued

  • "I have eaten at Jerry's several times before and always had excellent food and service. This time, on a Saturday night, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a salad that turned out to be seriously overdressed and short ribs that were dry, tough and had little flavor. My companions' entrees, the skirt steak, the branzino and another identically bad short rib, were similarly subpar. The beet salad and a shrimp appetizer special were quite good though - consistent with our past experiences. In addition, the service was, at best, haphazard. I hope that this was a hiccup and not an indication of things to come."

  • "I've ordered the curry chicken salad many times in the past. This time it was disappointing. The greens were dry with no dressing and it use to be served with a lovely tea-type bread. This time the bread was a dry ordinary raisin bread severed under the dry greens. The curry chicken salad was good but spoiled by the accompaniments. At our table we shared an apple crumble dessert that was delicious. I hope they return to their past curry chicken salad."

  • "Reserved for a BDay celebration that was not recognized. Was told "Chef left" by another employee as our server seemed to disappear from the premise once he understood our unhappiness. Server was difficult to understand and never checked back with us after delivering our food with another gentleman. In the past Jerry's has been all around very good. Today's lunch was a big disappointment especially for a Birthday Celebration and recommending Jerry's to 4 friends that were new to the restaurant. You can have the finest food however this will diminish quickly with lackluster service."

  • "My friend and I chose to make a 1:00 lunch reservation. There were only two other parties in the part of the dining room where we were seated. The other parties left soon and the waiter made his best effort to have us out within 45 minutes, despite our desire to linger over lunch. We were the last to leave the restaurant, and maintenance and repairs were going on around us, despite the fact it was only 2:00. Better to go earlier, even though it may be busy."

  • "We tried Jerry's based on reviews and its proximity . It was great. There were three of us and all of our entrees and appetizers were wonderful and had a beautiful presentation. The peach cobbler dessert was divine. This was a busy Saturday night and it was not noisy. The atmosphere is very English country and quaint, feeling both cozy and expansive enough for a full crowd. Waiter was very attentive and we spoke personally with the chef. Highly recommend."

  • "We had been to Jerry's several times in the past, always being very happy wiht the food and overall experience, but this time was the best! The restuarant is very charming, comfortable, and warm, and the service excellent. My wife went Asian with spring rolls to start and Thai barbecue ribs as a main course. Wonderful! I had a tortilla-type soup with pork that was out of this world. I then had a special grouper dish that was fresh and delicious. There are multple items on the menu to beg for a reutrn trip, which we will! Prices are moderate for food and drink."

  • "I had a lovely lunch with my friend at Jerry's. I marked it as "great for lunch" but I'm sure any meal there would be great. Service was just right, food recommendations were spot on, and the food itself was creative and delicious. The only negative I can find is that the table are set just a little too close together, but I highly recommend Jerry's and will be going back myself."

  • "My date and I were new to the place, and we were quite satisfied. Service was prompt but serene. We were early for a 5:30 seating and not too many guests yet, which made it even nicer as we had the east / fireplace room all to ourselves. The fried chicken, chef's family / secret recipe was incredible, crunchy and soft together. My sea bass, a brazino treatment was also delightful. I'd go back again and again. So nice."

  • "I love that the food at Jerry's is more upscale and interesting than the typical suburban fare. It's also more pricy but worth it. We started with the Curry Lentil soup which was absolutely delicious on a cold Sept evening. Then our group had the Thai ribs, shrimp tacos, sea bass and skirt steak… all very tasty! The wait staff was appropriately attentive… always there when you needed something or to clear away, perfect! The restaurant itself has a front room with an intimate and attractive setting. There is a back room as well, but I've never been seated there so not sure about size or ambiance. Overall, a very nice experience on the north shore!"

  • "Food was wonderful, start to finish. While I generally appreciate not being rushed or hovered over by wait staff, Jerry's kind of took this to the opposite extreme. There were times I would have appreciated a check in by the server, or a clearing of clearly completely finished dishes quite a bit earlier than actually occurred. The food is more than good enough, however, that this quibble won't keep me from going back."

  • "I had the most amazing meal at Jerry's. Best dinner out I have had all year. The Branzino (sp)? was unbelievable. I would order it again in a heartbeat. Our waitress was new though and clearly did not have much of a clue. She told me that the Branzino was served with the bones. I asked her to check because I didn't think it would be. She checked, and sure enough the fish was filleted and was not served with the bones. Also told me the Cobbler dessert for the day was cherry. The cobbler I received was dark blue in color. Blueberry. Not cherry. She was pretty clueless."

  • "At least, for lunch, my friend and I wanted to try everything on the menu since it all sounded so good. She had the Curried Chicken Salad, a pretty presentation, mild tasting and good. I had the Branzino with warm chopped salad. The salad of kale, cauliflower and asparagus in a buttery tasting vinaigrette was delicious but the fish, though good, was too salty. The bread sticks were stale so we just left them."

  • "It was a Sunday after the rain and we got their at 5pm when it opened. We where told they didn't have the pork tacos and one fish dish, oh, well. I thought the salads where small for $10 and the entrees where also small for R the price. The food was good but not a reason to return soon"

My wife had the chicken curry entrée and although the chicken was well cooked and of high quality, she throught it was a little bland. Overall, a good spot on the Northshore."

My friend & I had the bronzino & it was less than great. It was unappealingly presented (tail & and skin) & was bland & slightly dry. Desserts were outstanding: the chocolate popcorn & praline was absolutely out of this world!!! My peach cobbler was also wonderful."
