Diner Reviews
  • "Jensen's never fails to satisfy. We enjoyed the early bird specials. The current offerings include 2 mini fillets or one fillet and shrimp or one filler and wallet as well as some other standards. The food was delicious and the service attentive but not intrusive. A wonderful evening"

  • "The food was very good, but portions are small for the money."

  • "For dining out, I tend toward more adventuresome cuisine, so I was a little doubtful that I'd much enjoy a traditional supper club. Well, I had a great traditional meal: a chocolate martini made-to-order (I like it with only vanilla vodka and creme de cocoa), lobster bisque which was super rich, creamy, and well-balanced, a ribeye steak cooked to medium-rare perfection, and creamed spinach dusted with parmesan. I did feel like our popovers were a tad over-baked, but we made do and ate them all up anyway. :) And, the dinner salad was perfunctory, with an inoffensive vinaigrette dressing. Our server was terrific, right on top of things, but not intrusive. All in all, a lovely, tasty anniversary dinner."

  • "A go to place the house salad is great and the popovers are wonderful. Many martinis to choose from."

  • "The food is always delicious and the wait staff is delightfully helpful, courteous and attentive without being "in your face". Will be back again and again."

  • "This is a great spot for the basic supper club type menu - steaks, seafood and chicken. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I tried the London broil! which was delicious. Nice wine list."

  • "Great service, food and atmosphere. Popover are always a treat,"

  • "Perfect gem of a spot for any occasion ... excellent food and the cheese cake was awesome!!"

  • "My friends and I make it to Jensen's Supper Club every couple months or so, usually to wine and dine out-of-town guests or celebrate a special occasion. Every time we go to Jensen's, we have a consistent high-quality experience. The Appletini is amazing... a tasty treat and great value as you basically get two drinks for the price of one. The fresh-as-you-can-get seafood always hits the spot and the steaks are stellar. Add to this the additions Jensen's provides: appetizer tray, salad, those oh sooooo yummy popovers and food-wise, the experience is a 10. Also delightful and consistent are the wait staff. Kudos to Jensen's in keeping their best servers employed and happy. We love all of them! And we love Jensen's."

  • "Great food. Service was top notch. I can't wait to go back. We had the ribeye and the prime. Both were fantastic. Was definitely in the top 3 steaks I have ever had. And I have eaten at some of the highest rated steakhouses in the country. Don't change a thing!"

  • "Been going to Jensen's since they opened their doors. We have been to many fine restaurants and Jensen's is on the top of our list. We haver had a bad meal or bad service!"

  • "My wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food. The place on a Saturday night was on the loud side so that did diminish the experience some but overall we will be back."

  • "Outstanding dining experience. I have never been disappointed at your facility. Have recommended you to many friends."

  • "We love dining at Jensen's. The service, food and ambiance are outstanding! Still has the traditional feel of a real supper club."

  • "Had dinner her for our anniversary and the experience was fantastic! Great food, great service, excellent wine!"

  • "We read the reviews and were a little forewarned that the food was mediocre, the service excellent, and the ambiance romantic with an old '50's feel. Expensive place. The food was at best mediocre as was the service. The popovers and honey butter were wonderful, the lobster bisque was okay, the prime rib was "off", the texture was more like venison and definitely not pleasing. The parmesan crusted walleye was somehow doughy and rubbery even though the outside was crisped nicely. The house salad was strange and very wet. Iceberg lettuce with gorgonzola cheese and mandarin oranges in a vinaigrette. The Caesar salad was as expected. The night's special of au gratin potatoes wasn't available at 6:30pm - definitely an older crowd at this place."

  • "We have visited Jensen's Supper Club several times. The service is always fantastic. The food is always very good. The atmosphere is very desirable. This kind of consistency is very hard to find. Jensen's is top notch in my opinion!"

  • "Loved the relaxed intimate atmosphere. I would definitely come back and try different dishes. The only issue was they use great quality food for their dishes. But lacked good quality on their desserts. For example we ordered the strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious but used frozen strawberries that made it horrible."

  • "We always have great food at Jensen's - I reminds me of the supper clubs my parents would take us to for special occasion -If we have friends that come to visit from out of town - we always go to Jensen's"

  • "My husband and I dined at Jensen's for the first time last Saturday evening. Our waiter was excellent. I had ordered the prime rib. When he delivered it to the table, he noticed it was an "end cut" and asked if I would like to return the steak for a center cut, which I did. The food was very good. Our steaks were prepared to our requested level of doneness. The garlic mashed potatoes were wonderful. The only suggestion I would make is to reduce the salt during preparation - it was a bit salty for me. We would definitely return to Jensen's."

  • "We decided to try Jensen's after purchasing a Groupon. We liked the old supper club atmosphere. The service was excellent. Our food was delicious- highly recommended the Bob Bread and the French Onion Soup. Our steaks were delicious, as were the Au Gratin potatoes!! Salad and pop overs?! Yes please! We will be back- price was reasonable and perfect for a little romantic dinner close to home!"

  • "First, the service was outstanding. Our waiter was extremely friendly, gave recommendations, asked if it was our first time there (it was), and thoroughly explained how dinner works. We ordered Bob's bread as an appetizer. It was very tasty, but at $7 for 4 inches of a french loaf with butter and seasoning, I wouldn't order it again. The vinaigrette on the salad was outstanding with the onions, mandarin oranges, and gorgonzola. However, it came on iceberg lettuce that was still wet, so the dressing was watered down. I ordered lemon chicken pasta, and the pasta was underdone; the portion was very small as well. Also, the popovers were extremely hard and crusty on the outside. My husband ordered the filet and walleye and loved it."

  • "Jensen's has wonderful food, but the real gem is the excellent service. They went above and beyond in all facets of hospitality."

  • "This was our second visit to Jensen's. We truly enjoyed everything about the experience, from our drink at the bar to being seated and served by excellent staff. The food, as always, was amazing. My wife had an excellently prepared seabass, while I had the 14 ounce prime rib -- likely the best in the Twin Citites. Definitely put Jensen's on your short list!"

  • "My entree was cold and the manager came over to my table and personally took care of the issue. Jensens takes care of their customers. This was my first time dining at Jensens supper club and I most definitly will return."

  • "I'm visiting from Chicago and my husband and I wanted to try a local restaurant. The food and service was excellent!! I loved the atmosphere...very old school!! It reminded me if my favorite steak place in Las Vegas that is now closed (Bill's Steak House). Next time I'm visiting I will be stopping by Jenson's!!"

  • "Our server was exceptional but the food was dissappointing. I have not been to Jensens in about 10 years and it used to be a good place to go for good food. The server looked at my meal and asked if it was OK.....I responded it was but she could tell I was dissatisfied and she gladly offered a replacement which I denied. She did speak with the manager and my meal was credited. I eat out at many fine restaurants throughout the Twin Cities and must sadly state there are many better for the same or less money."

  • "My husband and I have been going to Jensen's for over 10 years. We bring our parents and we recommend it to friends. Jensen's is consistently great food, great service and great ambiance. The popovers are famous and great. It was my husband's birthday and they added just the right extra touch to make this trip extra great."

  • "As always, Jensen's provided quality food in an excellent atmosphere. Their popovers are a specialty, and their meat and seafood items are equally good. they split plates for you (I know remember the charge) which included the popover and the unlimited salad -- well worth the extra. They even occasionally have very good specials through the social media. Jensen's if a very nice place for a special occasion or romantic getaway."

  • "Food was excellent (but not outstanding). Service was superb. Waiter didn't explain the special completely, resulting in a change in order after it was served, but it was all handled cordially and efficiently. Very nice atmosphere. We've been there before and we'll be back."

  • "We Enjoyed our Dining Experience Immensely on Sat. evening. When making our dinner reservation on-line, i found it to be very easy. In the Notes section I requestsed a quiet booth for 4 and we got the most awesome corner booth in the establishment. The food was delicious and it was a quiet environment to be able to visit. You wll assuredly have our return business."

  • "We hadn't been to Jensen's in years and found it to be better than ever - just a great, old-fashioned supper club with beautiful ambience, comfortable chairs, white linens, knowledgeable and friendly waitpersons, excellent service, good food and real charm."

  • "We come here often. Excellent service, great food and quick service!"

  • "Took my wife here for our date night and well let's just say the atmosphere is nice, real old school vibe, typical supper club. Now the food, my wife ordered the lobster bisque and lobster cakes and I ordered the prime rib. First off the lobster bisque tasted like someone dumped a whole bottle of salt in it and made it almost indelible and the lobster cake while had no filler in it just lobster, fish and shrimp, tasted like raw onion. I mean like your eating a piece of lobster and eating a piece of raw onion at the same time, terrible! As for my prime rib, this is something I typically order when available when we go out, all I can say is disappointed. It tasted like an over cooked piece of meat with black pepper."

  • "We have eaten here many times and the food is always great, service polite, fun and really outstanding. Couldn't be better. The popovers and house salad is to die for! Walleye and filet mignon are superb!"
