We celebrated a birthday and were served a lovely complimentary dessert. After dinner drinks in the bar were reminiscent of the 60's. I had the BBQ beef shank which was excellent . The meat was tender, fell off the bone. Didn't like that they had side dishes a la carte- we had to pay separately for our veggies. They provide a house or garden salad with popovers prior to your meal. we loved the nice, cozy feel of their booths. Booths are spacious and could fit a lot of people. The environment is relaxing with low hanging dim lighting. It was a great spot for a special event. Our waitress and staff were excellent and the food was superb. We were seated at a table in a less congested area which was nice, but we were hoping for a bit "quieter" location as well. All in all, it was a pleasurable experience. We had the Walleye Oscar and it was amazing! The Walleye was fresh, perfectly prepared and the crab cake was incredible with it. That and you can't beat the popovers. We were the last to leave and employees were going about their business of closing up, the weather was very bad outside but no one tried to rush us out. The staff was amazingly attentive from time we sat down until we left. Our meals were served quickly and were delicious down to the last bite. We received a surprise dessert at the end of our meal as the server had noticed the anniversary cards we had exchanged with each other laying on the table.
I have never been disappointed in my visits to Jensen's. It's a great place for romantic dinners, celebrations of special events (we had a party of 30+ when celebrating parents 40th anniversary. They also were not cooked to medium which was what we ordered. We managed, but noticed the difference.
